As we introduced in our previous video that I visited Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture with Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family. After we left the museum, we headed to Seidai-ji Temple to see Echizen Daibutsu (the Great Buddha of Daishizan Seidai-ji Temple).
The Great Buddha of Daishizan Seidai-ji Temple is 2 meters taller than the Great Buddha of Nara!
Even the Great Buddha is very big and tall, Mr. Ugyen Dorji’s son who is only 2 years old didn’t even get overwhelmed and/or scared. As soon as he walked into the Hall of the Great Buddha, he was running around with smile. He put his hands together and prayed respectfully.
Gojyuu-no-tou (five-story pagoda) is about 75 meters tall. There is an elevator available in the building, so visitors can go up easily and enjoy the scenery from the top floor.

古楽アンサンブル「アントネッロ」～戦国時代の南蛮音楽
濱田芳通（リコーダー、コルネット）、石川かおり（ヴィラ・ダ・ガンバ）、西山まりえ（チェンバロ、ハープ）の3人により1994年に結成されて以来、常に最先端の古楽グループとして国内外から高い評価を受けてきた「アントネッロ」。
近年のアントネッロは、バロック・オペラ上演シリーズの「オペラ・フレスカ」や、「モンセラートの朱い本」など、多くの古楽演奏家たちと連携をとりつつ、中世・ルネサンスから初期バロックに至るまでのレパートリーにおける大規模なプロジェクトをも次々と成功させ、日本の古楽シーンのトップリーダーとしての地位を確立しています。
今回は、アントネッロのメイン・テーマのひとつである戦国時代の南蛮音楽を中心にご紹介していきます。
こんなにも古楽は面白い、ポップで、過激で、探究心を刺激してくれる世界だったのか！と驚かれるに違いありません。
