Japan Trip (2018) - Side Quest: Tokyo (4K 60FPS)
(As usual, you can follow my trip's progress on my blog ➡️
Turns out I've found a branching path in my quest!
No, but seriously, I've already covered most of Tokyo in one of my previous videos (a 30-minutes one at that!), but since there is so much to do in a day other than the Tokyo Game Show I decided to take the time to go discover and even rediscover some parts of Tokyo!
As usual, the best way to visit the city is to use the Yamanote train line, which goes around most of the interesting prefectures/areas that you'd want to visit. I do revisit places like Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya, but there's a twist: instead of being night time, it's day time (or vise versa)! Wow, now that's novelty right? I did what I could with the time I had! ????
Important thing to note: September 23rd was Automnal Equinox Day in Japan and it is a national holiday. This means a lot of the shops were either closed as people had the day off. This also means there were a lot more people than usual walking around the tourist areas! I decided to walk to my destinations as much as possible to see the city anyways.
In Akihabara, I had to revisit Super Potato. I self-labelled it as Japan's GameStop and got told hard by Benjamin Goulet that it isn't. So anyways, I bought a Sega Saturn game that I've wanted for a long time and it was super cheap too! Yay for no shipping costs I guess (no but seriously it was reallllly cheap)!
If you've never been to Ikebukuro, it's like living in an underground maze! Turns out it's also, or probably, the biggest grocery store out there! I've tried a bunch of food in there. Halloween is coming soon and there were lots of thematic sweets, pastries and cookies to try out.
In Shinjuku, I mostly do sightseeing. Seeing it at day feels very different. I'm glad I took the time to walk around the place! I do revisit the Metropolitan Government Building to get a nice view of Tokyo. This visit is free and all you have to do is go to the building for the observatory tour.
OK, now for the most important part of this quest: this time, it was a Sunday, and I did NOT miss cosplayers at Takeshita street in Harajuku! I'll be honest though, I could not recognize a single character some were trying to portray! Harajuku is also a place to set trends, so maybe it was just that after all! ????
To finish the day, I go to Shibuya and take some nice pictures of the Shibuya scramble, the busiest 5-way crossing in the world. I went to my usual favorite café to enjoy the view (and the meals obviously!).
That's it for the side trip. Very little shrines and touristic spots were covered, but I hope you will still enjoy this revisit of the city!

The Jordan 6 Rings Bred..
During its initial run in 2008, the Jordan 6 Rings model released in a number of iconic Jumpman color schemes including one of the most important in its history, Bred. Now, eleven years later and Bred is back on the 6 Rings, adding its familiar stamp to a Jordan Brand sneaker that essentially personifies greatness. Composed of six different Jordan silhouettes, its signature details are borrowed from the six sneakers MJ won world titles in, the Jordan 6, Jordan 7, Jordan 8, Jordan 11, Jordan 12, and Jordan 13. Its AJ11 patent leather mudguard tends to stick out more than other details, but on this particular pair, it is the sole of the AJ13 that carries most of the load as far as its flashy red detailing is concerned. Jumpman enthusiasts can enjoy a detailed.

Tokyo Nightlife in Japan: TOP 30 Bars & Clubs
This is my Ultimate Tokyo Nightlife Guide featuring the TOP 30 bars & nightclubs which I carefully selected including places such as Club Camelot, Hollow Point, Fight Club 428, ELE Tokyo, 1 OAK, Buri and of course Ageha, the best nightclub in Japan. Subscribe to my channel ► for weekly videos!
NEW: 7-Day Tokyo Pocket Itinerary
+ tons of Tokyo discount tickets
Tokyo is absolutely massive, with most popular nightlife hot spots located in Shibuya, Roppongi and Shinjuku districts. There are so many bars and nightclubs in Tokyo, you may wonder - Where do I start? Based on age, I would say Shibuya is for the Japanese youth/teenagers, Roppongi for the 25+ crowd and Shinjuku for the 35+ crowd.
Join the Tokyo Pub Crawl for just $24 + 20% discount!
(best way to start off you night)

Osaka Nightlife: TOP 20 Bars & Clubs (NEW)
The best possible thing you can do is join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday in Roppongi and explore the nightlife of Shibuya on Saturday, those are the best days for an epic weekend in Tokyo.
If you make new friends in Tokyo, you will eventually be asked to be added to LINE. LINE is 'the' chat app in Japan, so if you do not have DATA on your phone during your stay, make sure to rent a dirt cheap pocket Wifi station at the airport. You can take these pocket Wifi stations all over the country and allow you to connect many of your devices. It even fits in your back pocket. Luckily, there is a 30% discount on Ninja pocket Wifi stations on Voyagin. I personally rent this device everytime when I visit Japan.
30% discount on Ninja Pocket Wifi rental, pickup at Airport
- just $6 USD per day!
(works all over Japan)
Nightlife in Japan is beyond incredible! The most popular nightclubs in Tokyo include Club Camelot in Shibuya, ELE Tokyo in Roppongi and Ageha Nightclub in Koto City. Ageha is the best nightclub in Japan, it will be an all night event since it is quite far from downtown but on a big event night you will be amazed by the gorgeous girls, cool dudes and a fantastic sound system. This mega club stays open until 5am and should be high on your Tokyo party bucket list.
Tokyo has the best quality of food in the world, that's why you have to visit at least one of its many izakaya's to try a bunch of authentic Japanese dishes, like Eihire (grilled stingray), Sakura (raw horse meat) and Yakitori (skewered chicken meat). Visit izakaya's Umiya or Sumire in Shibuya to enjoy these dishes.
After dinner join the Tokyo Pub Crawl on Friday @ 8pm which lasts until 12am (4 hours) during which you will visit 3 bars and 1 epic nightclub. Tokyo Pub Crawl is a great event to meet travelers, locals, expats and fully hosted in English. What many travelers do not realize is that English isn't commonly spoken at bars and nightclubs, thus the pub crawl is a great first start. The Tokyo Pub Crawl is ONLY $20 USD for 4 hours of fun, you truly cannot go wrong.
Studying a bit of Japanese and learning common phrases prior to your arrival will definitely make your nightlife experience in Japan 10x times better. I've made many incredible friends during my 6 visits to Japan and these have been some of my most treasured memories by being able to speak a bit of Japanese.
I truly have seen it all in Tokyo since my first Tokyo Nightlife experience back in 2007 - I've seen many bars and clubs come and go, that's why I decided to compile the best possible list for an epic party weekend in the capital of Japan.
Food in Tokyo is very important to me, I highly recommend you also watch my video: 10 MUST-EAT Foods in Tokyo. Also, do not forget to join the insane Mario Kart Tokyo experience which you can purchase with a 37% discount for Mario Kart Tokyo, speaking of discounts, there is a 34% discount for the Robot Restaurant as well.
34% OFF Robot Restaurant
In conclusion, the Tokyo Nightlife is one of world's finest but often travelers have no idea where to go or where to start. There seems to be a lot of confusion as to where the good parties are in town that's why I decided to create this master Tokyo nightlife list of all the things I learned about Tokyo during my 6x visits in the past decade.

First Nights In Tokyo
''First nights in Tokyo'' was a trip I made in Japan during winter 2012. I had the chance to get unique shots of Shibuya covered in snow and experience Tokyo's exceptional nightlife for the first time.
The video covers a little of every popular places in Tokyo including a very nice bar called the Quest in roppongi. You will see timelapses seen from the mono rail starting in Odaiba ending in Shiodome, the Tokyo tower and Roppongi streets, Omotesando and Harajuku fashion shopping district with the prada building, Asaskusa's incredible temples and much more. Enjoy the trip as much as I did!

????Shibuya Halloween 2019 - Tokyo Walk - 4K 60 FPS
Halloween has quickly grown into one of the biggest events of the year in Japan. 10 years ago, there was hardly any celebrations at all. These days, the entire district of Shibuya gets taken over by cosplaying kids and families. Last year, much of the focus was on vandalism and bad behaviour by the partygoers, so this year, the streets were full of policemen tasked with keeping things as orderly as possible. Did they succeed? I let you be the judge, please write in the comments if you think this hardened stance by the authorities is a good idea.
