Spooky Lycian Rock Tombs - Fethiye Turkey 2018 Travel Vlog
I left Kas and took a bus to Fethiye Turkey, my first stop was at the ancient Amyntas Rock tombs, used by the Lycians to store dead bodies, I then walked down the umbrella street, has a casual stroll to the beach where I saw a magnificent sunset, then taking a quick peak at the rock tombs again at night to see them lit up, looking ever more spookier.

Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | We marvel at the fascinating landscape of Cappadocia from high above in a balloon...and from deep below, prowling an underground city where Christians once hid out. We’ll join a circumcision party, explore troglodyte ghost towns, shop for sheep at the market, and chat with an imam. Then we enjoy the modern capital, Ankara, and pay our respects to the father of modern Turkey, Atatürk. | © 2014 Rick Steves' Europe

DO NOT STAY AT TRAVELERS CAVE HOTEL AT CAPPADOCIA TURKEY!
I went to Turkey with a bunch of good friends from Hong Kong last week. When people asked about our trip to Turkey, to us, it's seriously a nightmare. It was the worst trip and experience we have ever had. Thanks to Travallers Cave Hotel at Cappadocia (
On 18June, around 7:30am in the morning we arrived at Goreme’s bus station. (Where is Goreme? Remember seeing any friend uploaded nice hot air balloon photos with soaring mountains behind? Yes that's Cappadocia, Goreme) We asked the tourist info center next to the station to book a taxi for us. A driver from the hotel somehow came to fetch us shortly. We remained stationary on the ground when the driver approached us because we recalled the service was not included in the package. We were puzzled so we checked with driver on the transfer fee but he reassured us it was completely FREE.
After a 2min of ride, we were at the hotel for checking in. After confirming our booking names, the receptionist started yelling at us. He was truly nasty and questioned us on why were we calling for the transfer service despite knowing that the service was not included. We explained that we wanted to hire taxi but the man at the official tourist counter booked the service on our behalf without our knowledge. We even reiterated that the driver told us the service was free but the receptionist said he would not educate the driver but it’s our responsibility not to take the car even if it came to us. He was very furious and asked for TL50 ( US $18.70) for the transfer. We refused to pay as the fee was exorbitantly high for a 2 min short ride.
He became hostile and started yelling at us. Smelling something unusual, I quickly recorded the video without his kmowledge. He said he was not happy that we didn't engage him for local tour services i.e. the red and green tours, and booked thru other agent instead. We explained that the tours were booked before booking hotel. He refused to listen and threatened us that we would have the worst experience by staying at this hotel and reassured us that all bad things will come to us. The man also asked if we “did not have any brain”, saying we were “cheap people” and he didn’t like “cheap people staying at our hotel”. We politely offered to work things out, i.e. cancel tours with another agent and book via him instead but he told us everything was just too late. He threw our passports hard on the desk. He even reiterated twice that the check in time for us was 7pm although it was stated as 1pm on our booking confirmation. Feeling intimidated, we worried about our own safety and chose to stay at another hotel.
So after we left the hotel, we reported the incident to agoda.com and asked for refund immediately. After few days, Agoda replied that the hotel denied on any wrongdoing and they refused to refund. They even threatened to take legal action. Fine, luckily we have this video as hard evidence and we finally send this bloody video to Agoda, and Agoda was infuriated to see the video too! When the hotel realised that we actually captured a video, the owner finally sent a formal apology letter to us.
To people, please do not book this hotel if you ever visit Cappadocia. Our case is not an exceptional case, I saw few reviews online that this hotel people will turn hostile if they realise that you never engage any of their tour service. Some extreme cases involved local police too! Please do not read positive comments of the hotel only if you book the hotel next time, you must also look at those negative comments, as some of the positve comments seems to be fabricated some time while negative comments will usually be filtered out. PLEASE SHARE THIS OUT TO YOUR FRIENDS!

CAPPADOCIA TURKEY is INCREDIBLE/ LANDSCAPES FOR DAYS
MY FIRST TIME IN CAPPADOCIA! A place I had been longing to visit. I left Izmir at sunset, took a 12 hour bus, arrived in #Cappadocia at sunrise, it was perfect! I then got to Goreme at 8am, was lucky enough to be able to check into my cave hostel at 9.30. I then headed out, visited the Goreme open air museum, which is home to some fascinating cave churches that date back to the 10th century. I then took a bus to Urgup and explored there, before exploring more of Goreme!!! WOAAH CAPPADOCIA IS INCREDIBLE! Definitely my favourite place in #Turkey

INCREDIBLE HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE - CAPPADOCIA TURKEY
IF YOU ARE WONDERING WHETHER THE HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE IN CAPPADOCIA IS WORTH IT?! THEN I CAN TELL YOU IT CERTAINLY IS!!
#Cappadocia #Turkey #Kapadokya
I woke up at 3:45am, then got picked up for the most incredible hot air balloon ride, giving me a tour over Cappadocia and the most insane way to watch a sunrise. The price I paid was 120 euros (some companies were charging as high as 150 euros so remember to haggle) I didn't disclose the companies name as I paid for this myself, there are lots of companies doing this anyway. After I visited the Uchisar castle, the highest point in Cappadocia, then went back to Goreme to have some tasty Turkish food.
LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS BELOW =)

Listening To The Mosque Call To Prayer Above Kas - Turkey
I visited the Saklikent park and saw the gorge, how ever it wasn't quite what I expected, there was way too many people there. When I arrived back in Kas I went to the view point to watch the sun set, just after it set the Call to prayer went off. This was the perfect spot to watch the sun set but also listen to the prayer call.

Kapadokya Cappadocia land of beautiful horses TURKEY
Cappadocia is Persian for the land of beautiful horses. It is an enchanting open-air museum and an unparalleled example of the common cultural heritage of humanity. Centered on the triangle of Nevsehir, Urgup and Avanos, Cappadocia is in the middle of a once active volcanic region.
At the time when Anatolia was completing its geographical evolution, these volcanic eruptions were so strong that the lava in some places was up to 100 meters thick. Over many millions of years, volcanoes, wind, rain and ice sculpted what we now know as Cappadocia. As the land eroded, the basalt stones remained and formed conical structures sometimes reaching as high as 45 meters. The local people called these unique rock formations Fairy Chimneys, a name that has endured throughout the ages. If nature was the first artist to arrange the decor, it was Anatolian man who over the centuries carved the rocks and built houses, churches and over 120 underground cities. The largest of these, Ozkonak, once had a population of 60 thousand. The canyon formed by the Melendiz stream, which has pierced its way through the rocks, is called the Ihlara Valley. In this 14-km long valley there are 105 churches and 4535 houses. Cappadocia defies description. You have to go there and bathe in its atmosphere, colors and luminance.
These interesting rock formations with caps, known as fairy chimneys are mainly found in in Cappadocia, the vicinity of Urgup.
These have a conical shaped body and a boulder on top of them. The cone is constructed from tufa and volcanic ash, while the cap is of hard, more resistant rock such as lahar or ignimbrite. They are formed as the result of the erosion of the tufa layer, sculpted by wind and flood water, running down on the slopes of the valleys. Water has found its way through the valleys creating cracks and ruptures in the hard rock. The softer, easily erodable material underneath has been gradually swept away receding the slopes and in this way, conical formations protected with basalt caps have been created.
Various types of fairy chimneys are found in the valleys of the Uchisar- Ürgüp-Avanos triangle, between Urgup and Sahinefendi, around the town of Cat in Nevsehir, in the Sogani valley in Kayseri, and in the village of Selime in Aksaray.
Among these are those with caps, cones, mushroom like forms, columns and pointed rocks.

In April 2019 I left on a big motorcycle adventure starting in Belgium all the way to the Himalaya's and Further. My plan is take no highways, ride off-road when possible, wild camp and stay with people as much as you can and try to rock climb in every country.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The crossover between Europe and Asia...
Entering Turkey was a bit with mixed feelings... I was a little sad and exhausted from the awesome week I had on Kalymnos (Greece) since I enjoyed some world class climbing there and spent the week with Belgian friends! From now I'm traveling back alone, set up camp and cook on my own…
Paying almost 100 euro for a 45min ferry from Greece to Bodrum, I finally arrived in Turkey.
I was scouting for Baklava, typical ice cream shops, durum's and kebab... Instead I got treated with a way more diverse country than I expected. After driving only a few kilometers I was already seeing a huge diversity of authentic food and shops, amazing nature, friendly people and great roads and trails.
Arriving in Pamukkale, which is a mineral rich thermal bath, I was amazed by the amount of Asian people trying to take the perfect selfie. Luckily, they closed a big part of the baths for tourists, but unfortunately the majority was already destroyed by mass tourism (when it was still allowed to walk into every pool).
I continued my journey towards Istanbul and crossed some great canyons, did some rock climbing, drove through picturesque villages and each time I refueled my bike, I was offered some Çay (Turkish tea), so nice!
I shipped my Iranian Visa and Passport from Belgium to Turkey and would pick it up in Istanbul. Easy peasy I thought… Suddenly my passport was lost between Belgium and Turkey and I needed to stay and wait in Istanbul for several days..
Eventually it took 17 days for it to be delivered, wherefrom I waited 8 days in Istanbul. But no worries, it has it all! Western, Asian and Turkish culture, good and bad coffee, skyscrapers and wooden (ottoman) houses, Baklava and kebab, Hamam,.. in other words: a really cool and intriguing city!
After receiving the Iranian visa, I continued towards the amazing Cappadocia (Göreme) and further explored East Turkey.

This is FETHIYE, TURKEY ???????? Safe? Beautiful? Must Visit? What to do in the city. Travel Guide.
Welcome to Fethiye, Turkey. This is our first week in Turkey, starting a brand new series that takes us to various locations in Turkey (stay tuned!).
We’re starting off our time in Turkey in the city of Fethiye, which is a beach town in the Southwest of the country.
Because we were staying in the Calis Beach area of Fethiye, we start the day there. Here you’ll find a long beach, a pedestrian only walking area and loads of restaurants. Because it’s early in the day we grab some breakfast, a traditional Turkish breakfast dish called menemen - which includes eggs, tomato, green peppers, and various spices.
Later we grab a water taxi to make our way to the main part of the town, downtown and Old Town Fethiye. Once we land we pretty much immediately make our way up a big hill to some ancient ruins. These are called Lycian Rock Tombs and are carved into the side of hills. The main one is the Tomb of Amyntas.
Later we head back down into the Old Town to check out the main market which includes both a fish market and a fruit/vegetable market.
After this we head to into the main part of the Old Town to explore the streets and bazaars (including a carpet bazaar).
Lastly, we go back to Calis Beach to catch the sunset - it’s west facing and happens to be an amazing place to watch the sunset! A perfect way to end a great day!
ABOUT FETHIYE
Fethiye is a port city, and district, on Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast. It's known for its natural harbor, blue waters and numerous rock tombs including the 4th-century B.C. Tomb of Amyntas, carved into a bluff overlooking the city. Near-shore islands are popular for day trips by boat. In the south, the beach at Ölüdeniz is sheltered by a lagoon, and Butterfly Valley is a designated nature reserve.
ABOUT TURKEY
Turkey is a nation straddling eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Cosmopolitan Istanbul, on the Bosphorus Strait, is home to the iconic Hagia Sophia, with its soaring dome and Christian mosaics, the massive 17th-century Blue Mosque and the circa-1460 Topkapı Palace, former home of sultans. Ankara is Turkey’s modern capital.

What Would a Journey to the Earth’s Core Be Like?
What’s the most exotic destination you’ve been to? Hawaii? Australia, Hoboken, New Jersey? Well, today I’m setting off on a journey that’s way more unusual than that – down to the Earth’s core. And I’m inviting you to join me. It’ll be fun! The center of the Earth lies about 4,000 miles below its surface, so it’s gonna be a looong trip.
???? By the way, guys, be attentive! To make the journey even more fascinating, I've hidden something interesting in this video. Okay, I'll give you a hint - it's movie references! You definitely saw them because each of those films is iconic. Try to find them all and let everyone know you have a sharp eye in the comments! If you're a video game fan, there's a reference for you too. But this one is really difficult.
???? And, of course, there is a cat hidden in this video. Can you spot it? C'mon, prove you're much more attentive than most people! Do you accept the challenge? ????

SUMMARY:
- The crust isn't really that thick. It’s roughly 21 miles thick and is made up of basaltic rocks that are under the sea, and granitic rocks that make up the continents.
- Nile Crocodiles dig the deepest burrows among all animals, so you can find them at 39 feet under ground.
- There are whole underground cities with shelters and catacombs in different countries. The deepest of them lies at 278 feet under Cappadocia in Turkey.
- Continental crust is about 2 billion years old and it covers about 40 percent of the Earth (yeah, the rest is oceanic crust).
- In 2004, a half-marathon was organized in the Bochnia Salt Mine in Poland. It was the deepest half-marathon ever – you don’t often see people running at a depth of 695 feet after all.
- The Earth’s crust serves as an electric blanket that covers the mantle. It’s rich in the radioactive elements uranium, thorium, and potassium, which produce heat!
- The oceanic crust is never too far, and its average depth is 4.3 miles. It covers around 60 percent of the surface of our planet, and is thinner, denser and younger than the continental crust.
- The pressure is getting more and more extreme, and it’s getting colder and colder down here. This is the deepest point where earthquakes are born – the ones that come from here are rare, and get pretty weak by the time they’ve traveled 435 miles up to the surface.
- At 1,814 miles deep, the mantle ends and the outer core begins. It’s a sunless sea of super hot liquid metal that’s about the size of Mars.
- Once every several thousand years, something happens in this layer: the magnetic poles reverse, and north and south change places.
- At 2,750 miles, the inner core welcomes you! It’s the hottest, innermost part of the planet.
- The inner core is nearly the size of the Moon, and makes up 2 per cent of the Earth’s mass.
- Not so long ago, British scientists found out that the inner core is relatively young – probably somewhere between 500 and 1,000 million years old, and that’s nothing in terms of Earth science.
- Now, for those of you who are thinking of packing your bags to go see the Earth’s core, I have some not-so-good news: it’s technically not possible yet, because there’s no way to survive the pressure and extreme heat that are waiting down there.

24 HOUR BUS - HOW TO TRAVEL FROM BATUMI GEORGIA TO ANTALYA TURKEY
Sign up for Airbnb and get £25 off your first adventure. Here’s my invitation link:
THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER TRAVELLED FOR 24 HOURS... BY BUS. If you are wondering how to get from Georgia to Turkey then there are a few different options. From Batumi there are buses running to different parts of Turkey, including Istanbul, Ankara, Rize, Trabzon and my choice ANTALYA. The reason I chose Antalya was because I wanted to work some of the Turkish coast. So my verdict on the 24 hour bus is... I am really glad I have done it, as it makes 12 hour bus journeys seem like nothing now. Also if I ever have to do another 24 hour bus (which I am sure I will) then I know what to expect. I would do it again but I wouldn't make a habit of it... I TRIED TO EXPLAIN AS MUCH AS I COULD, BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS 24 HOUR BUS JOURNEY PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW :D

CAPTIVATING CAPPADOCIA TURKEY - BEST SUNRISE & KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY
I started off the morning in #Cappadocia #Turkey with a magical sunrise, watching all of the hot air balloons fly. This was definitely the BEST sunrise that I have ever witnessed. Then I went on a tour, there are a few different tours, Green, red and blue. I chose the GREEN ROUTE. The green route is the most popular. I can't remember the companies name but there are a lot of companies that do these tours. All of the green tours are the same price (180TL/30 EUROS) Make sure you ask the company what the tour includes. I thought mine was really worth it,
it included: transport to & from hostel (we drove 110km) the tour guide (needed to make the rocks come alive) The first view point stop, Kaymakli underground city, Ihlara valley, Selime cathedral, lunch, the jewelry shop and Turkish delight tasting. The was a full day. This video was recorded July 18th 2018. IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS REGARDING THE TOUR THEN POP THEM IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW.
