We had a look inside the opulent Hardwick Hall that dates back to 1590. The grandeur of the buildings, gardens and surrounding area is in abundance.
It's now in the care of the National Trust for all to enjoy
A truly wonderful place to visit.
Hardwick was part of the manor of Stainsby in the 12th Century. It was built for Elizabeth, Dowager Countess of Shrewsbury, known as Bess of Hardwick.
The Hall is one of the finest and best-preserved houses of its type in the country, and has been described as 'the supreme triumph of Elizabethan architecture'.

The house was designed for Elizabeth Talbot (Bess of Hardwick), Countess of Shrewsbury and ancestress of the Dukes of Devonshire.
Hardwick Hall is situated on a hilltop between Chesterfield and Mansfield, overlooking the Derbyshire countryside.
It has been in the care of the National Trust since 1959.
Hardwick Hall was used as Malfoy Manor in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
