Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise - Hawaii Ocean Project
Departing daily from Lahaina Harbor in west Maui, enjoy a romantic evening on the ocean during a Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise from Hawaii Ocean Project:
Hop aboard the Maui Princess, a 120 foot sailing yacht with an upper and lower deck, oceanfront seating, full table service, island-inspired cocktails, live music entertainment, dancing and more for an evening you won’t soon forget. One of Maui’s most spacious and cozy touring yachts, you’ll set sail around the western shoreline just in time to witness a magical Maui sunset. In the months of December to April, this experience also doubles as a great whale watching experience, as humpback whales often come to the shallow channel between west Maui and the neighbor island of Lana’i to swim and give birth in the shallow, tropical waters surrounding the islands.
Once aboard, guests of this highly recommended sunset cruise will be treated to a full three course meal of carved prime rib, roasted chicken, macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi or vegetarian meatballs, with side dishes like salad, new potatoes, carrots and rolls, as well as a selection of cocktails like mai tais, strawberry lava flows, Maui Brewing Co. beers, wine, sodas, juices and water. For dessert, a slice of delectable cheesecake is served. Table service makes it easy to sit back, relax and enjoy the views, and entertainment from a rotating list of popular local musicians makes it even more memorable.
This experience is open to guests of all ages, and lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours with an approximate return time of 8pm. Upper deck seating and plentiful tables are guaranteed for all passengers, and it’s recommended to arrive for check-in by 4:45 to 5pm. We also recommend bringing a light jacket and any necessary seasickness medication, as well as your camera! Three alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price, and any additional drinks may be purchased for $4 to $6. For more information or to reserve your spot, call 877-500-6284.

As the most exclusive snorkel excursion around Maui, our Lanai snorkel adventure transports you snorkel off of the shores of Lanai. Once home of Dole pineapples, the island is, now, owned by billionaire Larry Ellison of Oracle; meaning the best snorkeling, because not many boats go to Lanai! Our snorkeling adventure, off of Lanai, includes a continental breakfast, professional snorkel gear to fully appreciate this unique underwater oasis, flotation aids for anyone who would like a little assistance, snorkel instruction from our knowledgeable crew, and an ono (delicious) BBQ lunch. Although, most days, our guests don’t need it, wetsuits are available, for rent, upon request. When you’re finished snorkeling at the two premier destinations (Sweetheart Rock, named for its legend of forlorn lovers, and Turtle Town*, named for the many turtles that like to hang out nearby), sit back, enjoy the views of Lanai and the West Maui mountains, and a nice cold, refreshing beverage.

This short video is Part 8 of our 15 days (10-25 Oct 2018) holiday in United States as our Honeymoon of our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
This Sunset Dinner Cruise depart from Lahaina Harbor at 5:30 pm. We sit in the open-air on the top-deck, so we can see the really beautiful view of the sunset, Lahaina City and also the beautiful Maui Mountains. The sunsets are really spectacular.
The cruise last for 2,5 hours, we returned to Lahaina at around 8:00 pm.
Really, this is our Romantic Evening in Maui.
The food is OK, especially the Roasted Prime Rib.
Once again, we should say that it is really a beautiful Sunset Dinner Cruise. It seems that we did not wrong to choose this attraction as a honeymoon to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Thanks God.......
Humpback WHALES at Molokini Crater
Off the rim of Reef's end at Molokini Crater in Maui, in the state of Hawaii, I ran into two Humpback Whales while doing a cinematography dive. I was on my first solo trip to Maui and had booked this dive on a whim, and the dive turned out to be phenomenal! I was excited and this was my first encounter with whales. Here is a clip from the footage I shot of these whales during the dive. They made my diving experience at Molokini Crater absolutely phenomenal! It was a once in a lifetime moment and I am here to share it. I am a pretty experienced diver and I would recommend booking a dive at Molokini Crater if you can, the visibility there is amazing!

Tourism: The Fate of Maui
During the making of this documentary film, students investigated the impacts of the tourist industry on Maui's environment and culture. The students explore the impacts of tourism development on our economy, our fresh water resources, and our cultural identity. Through interviews with community members and their own observations, the students search for ways to make the future of our largest industry more beneficial to our environment and local residents. (Length 12:44)
This film was researched, filmed, and edited by three middle and high school students from Maui as part Maui Huliau Foundation's Huliau Environmental Filmmaking club. For more information visit: mauihuliaufoundation.org

Maui Eat Local Project
Like what you see? Help our students make more films!
As a final project for the Huliau Youth Leaders program, seven Maui teenagers spent the first week of their summer living together on a farm and eating only food grown on Maui for four days. During these four days, they also visited farms, supermarkets and other locations to learn about where their food comes from. This film follows their journey and their reflections on this experience.
While a few ingredients came from other Hawaiian islands, every ingredient in everything they ate was from the state of Hawaiʻi. Huliau Youth Leaders is a program by Maui Huliau Foundation where 11th and 12th grade students from all Maui schools meet monthly to plan their own environmental projects.
Which Hawaiian Island is Used As a Bomb Range?
HONOLULU (AP) — Six miles from the scenic beaches of south Maui sits a small, deserted island with a rich history and a big problem. Researchers say Hawaiians traveled to Kahoolawe Island as early as 400 A.D., and it's home to nearly 3,000 archaeological sites. It's also littered with unexploded ordnance. The U.S. Navy used the barren island as a bombing range for decades starting in World War II. It later joined with the state and spent millions on cleanup, but they didn't finish the job.

Following a turtle in Pacific Ocean Maui Hawaii
Following a turtle underwater at Hawaii Maui. This is an underwater shot with my GoPro using a chest strap. I was quite close to the turtle without bothering it. it is a good shot of turtle swimming.
Maui vacation August 2015
We left Boston and Phoenix for the cool sands of Maui, Hawaii. We stayed at the Westin Hotel on Ka'anapali Beach. We spent the first day poolside as we adjusted to the new time zone. One of our first activities was snorkeling and cliff diving at Black Rock. The snorkeling was quite good - we saw our first sea turtle. We spent a half day deep sea fishing, where we reeled in several tuna. Once the kids got the hang of snorkeling, we went to mile marker 14.0 with naturalists from The Ocean Project. Despite the poor visibility from the rain the day before, we saw several more sea turtles, along with other reef fish. Our catamaran trip aboard the Trilogy V to Molokini crater was a highlight. With more than 100 foot visibility, we saw moray eels and a variety of reef fish, including the famous state fish Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. We spare time in the afternoons, we battled the waves on Ka'anapali Beach, relaxed on Kapalua Bay, and went parasailing in front of our hotel. On the last day, we drove from Lahaina to Paia and spent a few hours on the Road to Hana. Throughout, we enjoyed great food from Star Noodle, Leoda's, Merriman's and my favorite - the Paia Fish Market. All footage was shot with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver.
