Maiden voyage of the Mo'olei - Hawai'i Outrigger Canoe
We were honored to capture the the traditional Hawaiian blessing and maiden voyage of the Mo'olei (pronounced Moh-oh-laye), a brand new outrigger handcrafted in Hawaii by canoe maker Odie Sumi with Pure Canoes. After an amazing ceremony (much of which was not filmed out of respect for the sacred traditions), the paddlers, friends and family carried the magnificent red cedar canoe to it's first voyage in the ocean. Truly an amazing opportunity to experience the culture of the islands.

Solo sailing Los Angeles to Hawaii on 23ft boat
Ig @SamHolmesSailing
This video documents the 27 days alone at sea aboard my small 23ft sailing yacht. I sailed 2100 nautical miles from Los Angeles California to Hilo Hawai’i. This was my first big ocean crossing. The boat was a Ranger 23.

Party Boat | Hawaii Kai | O'ahu Hawai'i
Come jump aboard the Island Divers Hawaii vessel with Captain Neal, as a group of fun loving people set out for fun, off of Hawaii Kai, on the island of O'ahu, Hawai'i. Imran is the reason for celebration of everyone coming together (and the day prior was Imran's birthday, the day after was Dusty's birthday!). Mahalo Imran! The video starts out a bit slower as we see some sights including the mountains around us, like Koko Head. Then we all start drinking and everyone gets a little wet (from the spray, get your mind out of the gutter, that's for later) and before long, the drinks are flowing, people are jumping in the water, and the good times flow. But then you will notice a bit of a change. You will see a Dome of Awesome (and even experience the inside of it for a moment or two) where secret magical things take place. Then the newest ritual, the Man Woman Oath of Awesome takes place, yeah, that's right. Then you get to enjoy the group photo scream, as that is when you have to kick the kids out of the room as it gets a little bit adult with the perfect funnel of boobs. Captain Neil wants body shots off all the hot ladies (who doesn't) and that's when the triple waterfall of debauchery happens (it's boobalicious).

Waikiki Outrigger Canoe Ride - Royal Hawaiian, Oahu, Hawaii
Outrigger canoe ride, available from the Royal Hawaiian Beach Activities desk.
Approx. 20 min. paddle out / surf back, catching a few waves.
Private rides are staffed with a Captain and Oarsman who handle everything, no prior experience is necessary, this is suitable for many ability levels, most people won't even break a sweat.
This is a must do for anyone at least once. It's a beautiful, relaxing way to view the beach and Diamond Head from a unique perspective, in the middle of Waikiki Bay.
Highly recommended for first time visitors early on in their time in Waikiki to get an overview of the resort area layout.
Outrigger canoes are Polynesian craft named for the additional float off to the side. This adds stability and improves hydrodynamics allowing navigation in rougher waters. This also allows for faster speeds with less effort as well.
I've paddled kayaks in the Keys, single-hull Lewis and Clark canoes on flat water, and inflatable rafts in Class 4 rapids, and this is like riding in a Bentley.
You pierce through waves with a little almost weightless hop. Once you're among the surfers you hold a commanding view, completely unobstructed for 360 degrees. Your Captain can hold you there for a few minutes so you can look around, find your hotel, take photos. When you're ready catching a wave is effortless. The Captain will turn you around and tell you to get ready to paddle. After a few strokes you pick up speed quickly but always completely under control. Then just lift your paddles up, sit back and enjoy the view and wind in your face.
This is a great way to see Waikiki in a whole new way that very few people get to experience.
Special thanks go out to Alexandra von Faber-Castell, the Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, and the Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort and Spa, and the O'ahu Visitors Bureau, and the honorary, self-appointed Mayor Kainoa Daines.
