Hickory Nut Gap Farm -- Fairview, North Carolina | Meet the Ranchers | Whole Foods Market
The steers at Hickory Nut Gap roam sections of the 350-acre farm chomping clovers and tall grass their entire lives. Ten years work went into creating the grazing rotations that make that possible—just a drop in the bucket for a tight-knit family farm that's been committed to revitalizing Western North Carolina agriculture in the fields and on the plate since 1916.

A Visit to Triple B Farm in Bullock, NC
Bailey Newton was born and raised within a mile of the 80 acres he now farms. He raises cattle for beef, hogs, chickens for meat and chickens for eggs.
We had a wonderful tour of the farm! Mr. Newton is personable, knowledgeable and hilarious--an excellent combination. Plus, he is absolutely passionate about raising all his livestock humanely and without antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides are any other Cides.
If you live in the Raleigh area it is well worth the 1 1/2 drive to head on over to the farm. But, as Mr. Newton says, do call first to make sure that he is there. We called the day before, and he told us to come on over on Saturday after he got back from the Wake Forest Farmers' Market.
Unfortunately, Triple B doesn't have high-speed Internet access, so they don't have their own website (what a pain to do updates with dial up, huh?) But, you can visit their page at the NC Choices website here:
You can reach the farm by phone here:
