White Sands Balloon Invitational, 2010
It's a cool, clear morning at White Sands National Monument in Southern New Mexico. Rainbow-colored balloons lift off over the snow white dunes. No, there aren't as many balloons as some previous years, surely not as many as some other balloon gatherings in our state, but for us, the setting makes this one the best of all. After the last balloon has lifted, we breakfast on a blanket on top of a dune, appetites whetted by the cool dry desert air.
Driver lands on sign when he’s thrown from car in fatal LA, California, freeway crash
Originally published on 30 October, 2015
A 20-year-old driver was killed in Los Angeles on Friday morning when his vehicle rolled during a crash which ejected his body, depositing it on a freeway sign.
The crash occurred on the southbound 5 Freeway in Glendale at around 7 a.m. after California Highway Patrol received a call about a driver of a Ford Fiesta driving recklessly.
Shortly after the call, the driver rammed into the back of another vehicle carrying three passengers. All three passengers were unscathed, but the Ford Fiesta overturned, and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle. He landed on a freeway sign that is at least 20 feet above the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the Los Angeles Fire Department helped patrol officers remove the body from the sign three hours after the crash, and two of the lanes on the southbound 5 remains closed for the investigation.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Texas death penalty: Man executed for killing game warden during 2007 gun battle - TomoNews
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — With one fatal needle, 35-year-old James Freeman was put to death on Wednesday evening.
Freeman's death occurred nine years after he drunkenly led game wardens on a 90-minute high-speed car chase after he was suspected of illegally hunting at night. The chase ended with a shootout between Freeman and several wardens. Freeman was shot four times and survived, while one warden wound up dead.
At 6:14 p.m. on Wednesday, Freeman was asked if he had any last words. According to the Houston Chronicle, he said he did not.
Then the drugs were administered. In this case, a single lethal dose of pentobarbital, a barbiturate, was used, reported the Chronicle. Sixteen minutes after the drugs were administered, Freeman was pronounced dead.
Around 100 law enforcement officers stood outside the death chamber in solidarity with the warden.
Freeman's execution is already the second in Texas this year, and the 533rd in the state since the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976. Since then, 37 percent of all U.S. executions have taken place in Texas.

St. Elmo Colorado - A True Old West Ghost Town - Abandoned America
See Photos from our St. Elmo Visit Here:
St. Elmo was first named Forest City but was later changed because of a California town with the same name. The name St. Elmo was chosen by Griffith Evans, one of the founding fathers, who was at the time reading the novel St. Elmo.
At its peak in the 1890s, the town boasted a general store, telegraph office, town hall, Over 5 hotels, a handful of saloons, dancing halls, a newspaper office, and a schoolhouse.
The Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad line ran through St. Elmo (Yes, it's the same South Park you are thinking of). There were 150 mines claimed within St. Elmo. The majority of the folks who lived in St. Elmo worked at the Mary Murphy, Teresa C., The Molly or the Pioneer Mines. The Mary Murphy Mine was the biggest and most productive mine in the area. While in operation, the Mary Murphy Mine recovered over $60,000,000 worth of gold. While the other local mines shut down, the Mary Murphy Mine continued to operate until the gold standard was implemented. Which collapsed the price of silver overnight.
As a result. The Railroad was closed and eventually abandoned in 1922. Even after the world gave up on this town and its mines, people continued to harvest ore. This was done by hand and miners would haul individual mining carts down the mountain.
Once the mining industry closed completely, St. Elmo drastically declined. Miners searched elsewhere for gold, rather than silver. The business district in St. Elmo closed down as well. Few people continued to live in the town. Postal service was discontinued in 1952 after the death of St. Elmo's postmaster. The current population is...three.

10 Reasons Oregon Sucks!
10 Reasons Oregon Sucks!
Welcome back to the World According to Briggs, my name is Briggs and I have a confession. I live in Oregon and I love it. That doesn’t mean it is without fault. Like all states, there is some baggage that they could stand to lose. Mostly that would be things going on around Portland. If you talk to anyone that leans right, Portland is the Liberal purgatory to San Francisco being the liberal hell. Yes, Portland is just a little bit liberal to the politically unaffiliated. Oregon is a great state with many things going for it. Nature, beer, no sales tax, beer, interesting people, the list goes on and on. Portland is a great place to live if you can afford the rent or mortgage.

Loud Booms = Plate Tectonics or War Beneath Our Feet?
World News Report Today
1/10/2019
#Satire #RealDonaldTrump #Thehill
Americans continue to report Loud Booms heard all around the Country this week. In my opinion this could be the result of only two things. #1, This could be the result of plate tectonics and the earthquakes and volcanoes we seeing going off everywhere. We will call them growing pains and you must understand the Earth is a living thing and is growing. This is why we dig down to find our history. #2, The other thing that may be creating these booms are different factions of different Government, Federal, and Armed Forces fighting for control of these tunnels which can be used to traffic anything the controllers would like to traffic anywhere across the United States. We have had companies like Rogers building these tunnels for years and years and these tunnels connect different towns and regions of the Country. A fight for control of these tunnels may be in progress under our feet as we go about our everyday life. This would make sense considering the recent large drug seizures in Arizona and at the Port of Los Angeles. The Good Guys (White Hats) are cutting the Black Hats off at the knees. Their funding. Drugs, Sex, Weapons, Humans, and Organs. We all know our great President Donald Trump #POTUS #Trump2020 #realdonaldtrump is out for the Good of America. If you still can not figure it out it is time to pull your head out of the sand. This is Satire at its finest. Earthquakes and Plate Tectonics or a Fight for the Underground Cities. You tell me and please subscribe.

Grand Canyon | Helicopter Tour | Williams AZ | RV Living!
After visiting the Sedona area, we wanted to move closer to the Grand Canyon! Neither of us had been to the Grand Canyon before and it was one of the first things we put on our must-see list once we knew we were going to do this RV thing!
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Click Show More ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
For this leg of our journey, we decided to stay at Railside RV Ranch ( which, you guessed it, is right beside the railway line that runs from Williams to the Grand Canyon. Luckily, that railway is strictly a passenger line and doesn't run late at night like the one in Williamsburg!
Williams is a very cool little town right along historic Route 66. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and breweries and, of course, we frequented a bit of each.
The highlight of this location was obviously the grand canyon! We checked it out by truck, motorcycle, and HELICOPTER!
Since the day we started planning our adventures out west, we knew we wanted to take some kind of air tour of the Grand Canyon. Since our visit to the area happened to coincide with Tara's birthday, that seemed like the perfect time! I took a seaplane ride to the Dry Tortugas on my birthday, so fair is fair! ????
We picked Maverick Helicopter because that's just a really cool name (and they had great reviews)! ????
They are big helicopters, holding about 8 people each with great views in both the front and back seat. Luckily, we got a front seat! The tour takes off from Grand Canyon National Park Airport just inside the park on route 64. The first few minutes are fairly uneventful while flying over the forest. Forest...forest...forest... BAM!! The bottom of the world just drops out leaving us thousands of feet over the canyon! That was AMAZING! The entire flight, we were completely overwhelmed with spectacular views in every direction! There's just not much I can do to explain it in words. Good thing this is a video post! ????
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Williams and the Grand Canyon.
Next up in our travels, we have our first long term true boondocking stay on Lone Rock Beach in Utah! Stay tuned! ????
