Driving through Sebring, Florida
Sebring (/ˈsiːbrɪŋ/ see-bring) is a city in Highlands County, Florida, United States, nicknamed The City on the Circle, in reference to Circle Drive, the center of the Sebring Downtown Historic District.[6] In 2010, the United States Census Bureau reported a population of 10,491. It is the county seat of Highlands County, and is the principal city of the Sebring Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Sebring is the home of the Sebring International Raceway, created on a former airbase, first used in 1950. It hosted the 1959 Formula One United States Grand Prix, but is currently best known as the host of the 12 Hours of Sebring, an annual TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race. Nearby Highlands Hammock State Park is a popular attraction. Additionally, the house where novelist Rex Beach committed suicide is located on one of Sebring's main lakes, Lake Jackson.

Scenes of Daily Life and Leisure in 1920s Sebring, Florida
This 1920s film footage begins with the highlights of the Highlands County Fair before transitioning into scattered scenes of daily domestic and public life in Sebring, Florida. Footage of downtown Sebring captures images of residents milling about near identifiable businesses like Hotel Roanoke, Highland Bank and Trust Co., “The Sebring” hotel, and the First National Bank of Sebring. Additionally, Bok Tower, a National Historic Landmark, is shown under construction before its completion in 1929. Scenes of men at work in an unidentified Florida oil derrick, possibly located in Venus or Oldsmar, Fl underscore industrial development in 1920s central Florida. Additionally, children and adults are featured lining up outside of an unidentified church in Sebring as well as the daily activities of a woman living in a large lakefront home (likely Lake Jackson).

abandoned hotel, strange noises! pt 1
Sophie and I explore the abandoned and haunted Harder Hall in Sebring, Florida. (death screeches at 7:15 mrk) Amanda decided to stay in the car...her favorite spot since she HATES Florida wild things...and ghosts!! The building has been unoccupied since 1982! Several times different groups tried their luck on the extensive renovation project but never got far. A few times this classic building barely escaped demolition, before being put on the National Register of Historic Places.

I'm Back! Summer in the Florida Highlands
I'm Back and this video is how summer in the Florida highlands look. Sorry about being away so long I had bronchitis which developed into walking pneumonia. I am doing much better but still have to regain some strength and stamina for the longer hikes. I am excited that I will be meeting with an individual from the east coast of Florida and we will be going to one of my earlier research locations (Squatch Central). We will be collaborating and presenting some interesting things this fall so stay tuned. I am looking forward to the rest of this year being an exciting one.
Trip to Southern USA
A trip across the South (USA) in the spring of 2009, covering five states and 1,800 miles (2,400 km). One of the highlights was a drive through the entire length of Natchez Trace National Park. The Natchez Trace is one of the longest national parks in the world, extending 450 miles (600 km) from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi. The tour also included visits to central Florida - Sebring, Highland Hammock State Park. To Georgia - the flooded Alapaha River, Atlanta and Stone Mountain. To Tennessee - Rock City and Ruby Falls cave (near Chattanooga) and Nashville. To Mississippi - Natchez and Jackson and to Louisiana - New Orleans.
