Hill Top Farm
Where Beatrix Potter came to write. Her living quarters were across the road from Tower Bank Arms.
THE REAL Beatrix Potter's House REVEAL!!! A tour at Hill Top Farm ....and Where She REALLY LIVED!!
Evie and Otto will give you a tour inside the Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm cottage studio. They immensely enjoyed getting around inside filled with that Beatrix personal items and those that she inherited from her parents and brother. A Great Guide to beatrix potter hilltop farm & beatrix potter history
Hill Top Farm was owned by Beatrix Potter, the creator of Peter Rabbit and nearly two dozen other children's classics. She used the money she made to become a major land owner in the Lake District. Her mission was to preserve it from development. On her death she left all of her property to the government who used it as the foundation for what would become England's most visited National Park and in 2017, a Untied Nation's World Heritage Site.
Beatrix Potter didn’t actually live here, she and her husband live just across the meadow.
Beatrix Potter is a great author of children books. The truth in her books of Peter Rabbit and other animals comes alive to instill much gentle respect on this category of writing tales.
Her legacy and influence extends far beyond these and is still important to the National Trust today.

TRAVEL SERIES ENGLAND:BEATRIX POTTER HOME, LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL TRUST |TRAVELLER'S NEST NZ|
Hi All,
UK : LAKES DISTRICT
Filmed on 18.03.2019 at Hill Top Farm, Near Sawrey, and Hawkshead in the Lake District.
After York, we headed to the Lake District to visit Hill Top Farm.
Hill Top Farm is wonderful, whether you are a little adult or a big kid. The area is just stunning.
The lake District was our favorite, after Wales. We left very at home in the North of England
Hill Top, Near Sawrey, is the home of Beatrix Potter. She acquired it in 1905. It was her first acquisition, she went on to acquire 15 farms and over 4,000 acres of land in the Lake District. On her death it was all bequeathed to the National Trust. Thanks to her Lakes District is now a National Park. For all future generations to enjoy.
After the ticket office, you walk down the main street.
You see all the stories in front of you as you explore the village. I can just imagine her being there.
You will see Anvil cottage, part of The Tale of Samuel Whiskers, then the Post Box part of Peter the Rabbit story.
The old Post Office is part of The Tale of the Pie and the Patty Pan
The pub, The Tower Bank Arms, is part of The Tale of Jemima Puddle Duck.
The famous white Gate, the entrance of Hill Top Farm is part of the Tale of Tom Kitten.
The gardens at Hill Top are part of Peter the Rabbit. I can just imagine Peter running around that garden.
When Beatrix married her solicitor, William Heels, in 1913. They moved to Castle Farm, up the valley. Hill Top was kept as her studio.
An wonderful area for a wonderful, truly talented artist and all time best seller of children books.

Places to see in ( Hawkshead - UK )
Places to see in ( Hawkshead - UK )
Hawkshead is a village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, which attracts tourists to the South Lakeland area. The parish includes the hamlets of Hawkshead Hill, 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the north west, and Outgate, a similar distance north. Hawkshead contains one primary school but no secondary school and four public houses.
Hawkshead is just north of Esthwaite Water, in a valley to the west of Windermere and east of Coniston Water. It is part of Furness, making it a part of the ancient county of Lancashire. The township of Hawkshead was originally owned by the monks of Furness Abbey; nearby Colthouse derives its name from the stables owned by the Abbey. Hawkshead grew to be an important wool market in medieval times and later as a market town after the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1532. It was granted its first market charter by King James I in 1608. In 1585, Hawkshead Grammar School was established by Archbishop Edwin Sandys of York after he successfully petitioned Queen Elizabeth I for a charter to establish a governing body.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Hawkshead became a village of important local stature. Poet William Wordsworth was educated at Hawkshead Grammar School, whilst Beatrix Potter lived nearby, marrying William Heelis, a local solicitor, in the early 20th century. Much of the land in and around the village is now owned by the National Trust. The National Trust property is called Hawkshead and Claife.
With the formation of the Lake District National Park in 1951, tourism grew in importance, though traditional farming still goes on around the village. Hawkshead has a timeless atmosphere and consists of a characterful warren of alleys, overhanging gables and a series of mediaeval squares. It is eloquently described in William Wordsworth's poem The Prelude.
( Hawkshead - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Hawkshead . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Hawkshead - UK
