Hillborough River State Park
Just another day in Paradise, I wanted to show y'all a little piece of Florida! This is Hillsborough River, which runs all the way to Tampa Bay.
It was opened in 1938. This is where the second Seminole War was fought as well. So much history is here and yet there are so many preservation area's that people don't know about and support.
Florida contains such an amazing ecosystem that is unique for America. This park has a few of the different sights, but there is so much more to explore. I want to visit as many of the places as I can and document my time there, so I can remember them if they ever disappear. Floridians and Americans in different states need to fight to protect these places so the generations after us can enjoy these beautiful gems that are in danger of being destroyed by big businesses and human encroachment.
The music is Loupe by Andrew Applepie.
I do not hold any rights to his music, but I definitely recommend listening to his music and see his skill for yourself!!!

Fort Cooper Seminole War Trail
Fort Cooper State Park, Florida. The Seminole War Heritage Trail was completed in March 2015. This was during the annual reenactment weekend. (The balloons are to celebrate the opening of the trail / finishing of the kiosks.) These four kiosks give a brief look at the Seminole War as it pertains to Fort Cooper and the Cove of the Withlacoochee, which the Army thought was the Seminole & Miccosukee Indian's stronghold at the beginning of the 2nd Seminole War in 1836.
In early 1836, the Seminoles & Miccosukee Indians had successfully resisted removal and used guerrilla tactics to out-maneuver the Army, so that the Indians has control of the interior of the Florida peninsula. General Winfield Scott started the third campaign to try and defeat the Seminoles, which also ended in failure, as did his predecessors.
Gen. Scott ordered the Georgia Battalion of Volunteer soldiers to establish Fort Cooper at this site to observe the Cove of the Withlacoochee, a marshy area of intermittent lakes and marshes that was believed to be where the main forces of Indians were hiding. For two weeks, the fort remained under siege by the Indians until relief arrived from General Clinch. The Georgia soldiers then abandoned the fort.
An archaeological dig about 1976 determined where the exact location of the fort was, and established this as a state park. The park now also manages the 50-mile long Withlacoochee State trail which is adjacent to the park.
The park is full of many large majestic oaks. I have heard numerous flying squirrels at night during the reenactment. There is also a large indigo snake that I have seen, which is an extremely rare species of harmless snakes that eats rattlesnakes.
