Places to see in ( Chicago - USA ) Historic Water Tower
The Chicago Water Tower is a contributing property and landmark in the Old Chicago Water Tower District. It is located at 806 North Michigan Avenue along the Magnificent Mile shopping district in the Near North Side community area of Chicago, Illinois in a small park, the Jane M. Byrne Plaza. The tower was constructed to house a large water pump, intended to draw water from Lake Michigan.
Built in 1869, it is the second-oldest water tower in the United States, after the Louisville Water Tower in Louisville, Kentucky. The Chicago Water Tower now serves as a Chicago Office of Tourism art gallery known as the City Gallery in the Historic Water Tower. It features the work of local photographers and artists, and filmmakers.
The structure has not been universally admired. Oscar Wilde said it looked like a castellated monstrosity with pepper boxes stuck all over it, although he did admire the arrangement and movement of the pumping machinery inside. The Water Tower's castle-like style inspired the design of some White Castle restaurant buildings. The Tower was named an American Water Landmark in 1969. In 2004 and 2017 the tower was featured in the finale of The Amazing Race 6 and The Amazing Race 29 respectively.

The poisonous small steeple comes between skyscrapers. This small tower is just the most loving people of Chicago Buildings, Water Tower. Nwatda change the face of Chicago 'for fire' What kind of a case. Chicago, USA in 1851 as a center for railway traffic began to develop rapidly. The lake's water-rich and easy to transport haejida I have the steel mill in 1857, has a population of 1865 surged by feedlot workers are heard while looking for work. Then it occurred during the Great Fire of October 1871. I have gotten downright on fire in a city north of the city as a whole the wind blowing from Lake Michigan. The fire resulted in 60% of the city for three days to ride 90,000 people homeless. Why do over the fire. Magnificent Mile including the Old Water Tower 5/5/2015
Chicago, Illinois
5 May 2015
Located in the northern part of Michigan Avenue between the Chicago River and Lake Shore Drive, it is a wide grand boulevard of exclusive shops, museums, restaurants and ritzy hotels.
Various landmarks such as the Old Water Tower—completed in 1869 marking the establishment of Chicago’s second water works and the lone pumping system building that survived the Chicago Great Fire in 1871—can be found.
At present, the Old Water Tower stands as a principal memorial of 1871’s great tragedy and was designated as the first American water landmark during its centennial year on 1969 “because of its significance in the development of Chicago’s water resources and its symbolic identity with the spirit of Chicago.”

Marshall Fields (Macy's State Street) Chicago
Marshall Field and Company Building or Macy's at State Street, in Chicago, Illinois, was the flagship location of the Marshall Field's chain of department stores and, since 2006, is the main Chicago location of the Macy's chain. The building is located in the Chicago Loop community area in Cook County, Illinois, United States, and it takes up the entire city block bounded clockwise from the west by North State Street, East Randolph Street, North Wabash Avenue, and East Washington Street.[3] Marshall Field's established numerous important business firsts in this building,[4] and it is regarded as one of the three most influential establishments in the nationwide development of the department store.[5] Both the building name and the name of the stores formerly headquartered at this building changed names on September 9, 2006 as a result of the merger of the May Department Stores (Marshall Field's former parent) with the Federated Department Stores which led to the integration of the Marshall Field's stores into the Macy's retailing network.[6]
The building, which is the second largest store in the world,[7] was both declared a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 2, 1978,[2][1][8] and it was designated a Chicago Landmark on November 1, 2005.[9] The building architecture is known for its multiple atria and for having been built in stages over the course of more than two decades.[10] Its ornamentation includes a Tiffany & Co. mosaic ceiling and a pair of well-known outdoor clocks, which serve as symbols of the store.[10]

CHICAGO/ THE WINDY CITY/ CHI-TOWN
Located on the shores of freshwater Lake Michigan, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed and grew rapidly in the mid-19th century. After the Chicago Fire of 1871, which left more than 100,000 homeless, the city made a concerted effort to rebuild. The construction boom accelerated population growth throughout the following decades, and by 1900 Chicago was the fifth largest city in the world. Chicago made noted contributions to urban planning and zoning standards, including new construction styles (including the Chicago School of architecture), the development of the City Beautiful Movement, and the steel-framed skyscraper.
Chicago is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the creation of the first standardized futures contracts at the Chicago Board of Trade, which today is the largest and most diverse derivatives market globally, generating 20% of all volume in commodities and financial futures. O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region also has the largest number of U.S. highways and greatest amount of railroad freight. In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and it ranked seventh in the entire world in the 2017 Global Cities Index. The Chicago area has one of the highest gross domestic products (GDP) in the world, generating $680 billion in 2017. In addition, the city has one of the world's most diversified and balanced economies, not being dependent on any one industry, with no single industry employing more than 14% of the workforce.
The city ranked first place in the 2018 Time Out City Life Index, a global quality of life survey of 15,000 people in 32 cities. The city is also home to several fortune 500 companies, the most notable being, Allstate, Boeing, Exelon, McDonald's, Quaker Oats, and United Airlines Holdings. Landmarks in the city include Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum Campus, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park (Chicago), the Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo. Chicago's culture includes the visual arts, literature, film, theater, comedy (especially improvisational comedy), food, and music, particularly jazz, blues, soul, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic dance music including house music. Of the area's many colleges and universities, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago are classified as highest research doctoral universities. Chicago has professional sports teams in each of the major professional leagues, including two Major League Baseball teams.

CHICAGO
The Watertower, Chicago by Thomas Kinkade
During the winter months, you can feel the cold wind come rushing down Michigan Avenue from the lake in Chicago. Yet the tourists never seem to mind, fascinated by the Chicago Water Tower. Back during the Chicago fire when everything burned to the ground, the Water Tower alone survived, inspiring citizens to rebuild their town bigger and better than ever.

Fountain Of Time, Massive Statue In Chicago's Washington Park
Fountain Of Time, Massive Statue In Chicago's Washington Park
It was a beautiful spring day finally in Chicago so it seemed like a good time to start exploring the Hyde Park area and presenting some of it's hidden charms. The first stop is the Fountian of Time statue located in Washington Park, Chicago near the corner of 60th & Cottage Grove. It represents the far western edge of what was the Midway Plaisance the grand midway that served as the entry to the Columbia Exposition of 1893. The event that serves as the setting for The Devil In The White City.
This statue was erected in the early 1920's and was designed by Lorado Taft who also designed the Fountain of the Great Lakes statue at the Art Institute of Chicago. Which we also have a video uploaded on.
As for the statue itself wikileaks has a rather extensive post which I will share the beginning with you.
Fountain of Time, or simply Time, is a sculpture by Lorado Taft, measuring 126 feet 10 inches (38.66 m) in length, situated at the western edge of the Midway Plaisance within Washington Park in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States.[1] This location is in the Washington Park community area on Chicago's South Side. Inspired by Henry Austin Dobson's poem, Paradox of Time, and with its 100 figures passing before Father Time, the work was created as a monument to the first 100 years of peace between the United States and Great Britain, resulting from the Treaty of Ghent in 1814. Although the fountain's water began running in 1920, the sculpture was not dedicated to the city until 1922. The sculpture is a contributing structure to the Washington Park United States Registered Historic District, which is a National Register of Historic Places listing.
