A Community Called Orange Mound - Feb. 4, 2013
A Community Called Orange Mound, premiering Monday, February 4 at 9:00 p.m. on WKNO/Channel 10, is the story of a southeast Memphis neighborhood with a surprising legacy. The broadcast of the 60-minute documentary is sponsored by The New Olivet Baptist Church; Fred L. Davis Insurance Agency; and Tim Thompson, author of The Locker Room.
Established on the grounds of the former Deaderick plantation, Orange Mound was one of the first communities in the United States to be built entirely by and for African Americans. The self-contained community that emerged attracted not only laborers and domestic workers, but also doctors, lawyers, businessmen, and teachers, all of whom were proud to call Orange Mound home.
One of the closest-knit groups in Memphis, the residents of Orange Mound are still intensely loyal to the neighborhood that has been home to many families for generations, said producer Jay Killingsworth. And they all say the same thing: even though they can live elsewhere and have had opportunities to do so, Orange Mound is home and that is where they intend to stay.
The Lorraine Motel - National Civil Rights Museum - Paranormal History Profile
In November of 2008, we went to Memphis, Tennessee and one of the locations we stopped at was the Lorraine Motel. This location which is the site of one of America's greatest tragedies, is now part of the National Civil Rights Museum and has been preserved back to the way it looked on April 4, 1968, preserving the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. and the events that took place there on that fateful day.
In this video we will cover the history of the location and our personal experiences when we were there.

Top 10 Haunted Locations in TN
Source:
The southeastern state of Tennessee is the birthplace of bluegrass music, Mountain Dew soda, miniature golf, the tow truck, and Jack Daniels Whiskey. It’s tied with Missouri as the state that borders the most other states (eight). It’s also the 36th largest state, but the 16th most populated. Famous Tennesseans include singers Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, actor Morgan Freeman, director Quentin Tarantino, former vice president Al Gore, TV mogul Oprah Winfrey, and pro wrestling legend Ric Flair. Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was established in the 1940s as part of the Manhattan Project that produced the first atomic bomb. This 440-mile-long state features forests, plains, lakes, rivers, and mountains.
Tennessee is rich with history and much of that history is dark. Tennessee not only has its share of cryptids (as discussed on the last episode) but it also is home to many other ghosts and spirits. Some of them are angry spirits. Some of them are sad spirits and we don't even know why some of them stick around. Nonetheless, the state is full of them.
On this episode of ParaReality Radio, I'll be taking a look at some of Tennessee's most famous, or infamous, haunted locations by giving you a countdown of my top 10 haunted locations in the state.
5 Most Haunted Places in Tennessee

Ruffin Theatre EVP - podium moving on its own
This evp was captured during an investigation at the historic Ruffin Theatre in Covington, TN. Investigators Tanya and Stephen (and client) were in the basement conducting an EVP session when they heard something moving directly above them. Upon investigation of the area it was discovered that a podium (pictured) had moved at least 2 feet...on it's own.
