2017 11-10 Sugarloaf Mountain to Hogback Mountain after a snowstorm
After the snow yesterday and last night we put on our Yaktrax and hiked up Sugarloaf Mountain to take in the view. Michelle and I took some pictures and I flew my drone all the way to Hogback Mountain and back. MJ had fun playing in the snow. It was a great day.

4 Trails 2 Minutes | Mountain Biking | Marquette, Michigan
Summer’s arrival in Marquette means nearly 16 sun-soaked hours of daylight on Lake Superior’s southern shoreline. For us, that means 960 minutes a day to explore the over 100 miles of carefully crafted mountain bike trails packed with bar-dragging berms, stomach dropping rock rolls, and more features found only in Marquette County’s glacier-cut landscape. Need proof? Here’s four unique trails in two minutes. Now what will you do with the other 958?
Riders: Evan Simula, Neil Washburn, Nic Dobbs, Jeremiah Johnston, Phil Ott and Anders Tvedten.

Marquette County, on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a designated Ride Center of the International Mountain Bike Association, one of only 27 in the world.
As of October 2014 the Noquemanon Trails Network of Marquette County has:
48 miles of cross-country mountain bike trails mapped and signed.
17 free ride mountain bike trails.
1 flow trail.
1 dual slalom course.
1 technical legacy trail.
80 wooden structures (system wide)
More berms and jumps than we can count.
NTN trails traverse 3 rivers, 5 creeks and take riders to 7 vistas.
In the nearby towns of Ishpeming and Negaunee the Range Area Mountain Bike Association is rapidly signing and mapping its sprawling 43-mile system of classic hand built mountain bike trails in the rugged hills where American iron mining was born: The Marquette Iron Range.
Five miles north of the city of Marquette an endless backwoods adventure of rowdy rock rolls and near alpine conditions challenge advanced riders along the spines of the ancient Huron Mountains at places like Harlow Lake, Sugarloaf Mountain, Bareback, McLovin and Top of the World. A community group works closely with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to maintain the rugged, natural character of these trails.
During the winter, trails groups and volunteers groom and maintain an every-expanding system of snow singletrack for fat bikes, or snow bikes, as we like to call them. These winter bike trail networks are some of the first, and best, in the world--luring industry heavyweights like Trek, Specialized and 45North to test and develop products for this booming segment of the bike industry.

Marquette: a great adventure town
Marquette was named one of the 6 great adventure towns you've never heard of by Red Bull. The Queen City carries all of the great qualities you'll see out west among the larger name adventure towns.
EXPLORING MICHIGAN
Exploring Michigan's upper peninsula with my dad. This is some of what we were able to see in the short 10 hours we had there
Four Hikes All In Michigan's Upper Peninsula
After getting off the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Trail due to weather I went to Marquette for a short while to visit my friend, Molly. I stayed a bit longer than I had originally planned but during that time I was able to jump on a few short trails in the area. This video shows four of those trails including Hogsback Mountain, Sugarloaf, Dead River Falls, and a short area along the shores of Lake Superior.
If you know of any other great hikes in the area comment them bellow so I can check them out the next time I am in the area.

Mount Marquette Blue Loop - Mountain Biking Marquette Michigan
The 3.8 mile Mount Marquette Loop or often called the Blue Loop is said to be one of the signature trails in the Marquette single track system. The loop has about 640 feet of climbing and is rated as intermediate-advanced. At the top of the main climb there is a spur trail that takes to the top of Mount Marquette and an overlook that gives you a nice view of the city and Lake Superior.

2017 10-29 Huron Mountain View
It snowed at our place in Marquette overnight and I wanted some footage. We headed West of Big Bay to a geocache that hadn't been found in 4.37 years but offered a fantastic view. We found the cache still in great shape and the view was as promised. I got some pictures and flew my drone.
