Hoi An By Night - Magical Night At Hoi An - Vietnam Travel Guide
Hoi An Ancient Town is one of Vietnam's most beautiful cities. People say: There is always a reason to come to Hoian, and there's always a reason for you to love this City.
Hoi An Travel Guide:
Come to Hoi An, walk or cycle along ancient streets, experience the drop of flower garlands and colored lantern on Thu Bon River and send a message to tell us what Vietnam is in you!
We went to a Magical Town, HOI AN, VIETNAM (2019)│ My Travel Journal
Visiting Vietnam was an incredible experience, we went to so many places and so many UNESCO heritages.
Then we came to Danang, and everybody mentioned HOI AN, I don't know how We missed it from our research but here We are on our way to Hoi An.
We arrived and we were impressed, is such a Magical Town, so beautiful, not just the town but the food, Oh my gosh.
We found that most of the vegetables fron this town come from a little village like 5 to 10 minutes away, a community of 50 families and off course we Went there.
From Hoi An take a taxi to the TRA QUE Vegetable Village, you will not regret, is free of charge but they have a lot of activities that you can do like: farming, tours inside the village, cooking classes, etc etc and they go from $23 to $28 dollars, not bad because that includes food and more things.
HOI AN is a town that you have to visit if you come to Vietnam and stay for more than a day if it is possible, in the night this town transform in a Lantern town, so nice.
The food is espectacular, you have to try CAO LAU, nooldes than can be made just here because they are made with water from a WELL that is very special and different. They say that the water that comes from underground is from a little Island close by that has ashes of the local trees OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Off course we went there.
We will eat, we will get lost in the town, we will go to temples and more.

Danang to Hoi An | Vietnam
Today started with an early morning motorbike ride outside the city of Danang. Jeff took me to the local fishing village to watch them bring in their catch, and then we drove to an 800 year old tree!
Next, Jeff and Nancy were nice enough to drive us to Hoi An so we didn't have to take the public bus. We tried out a couple different coffee shops together before they headed back to Danang.
We spent the rest of the day walking, shopping, and eating in the ancient city of Hoi An.

Hoi An, Vietnam | Cham Island snorkelling tour, An Bang beach | Vietnam Travel
After visiting the city of Da Nang we hopped on our motor bikes and road to the ancient town of Hoi An, Vietnam.
We arrived in the evening and we were greeted by our Airbnb host in town who then guided us to our super cute rental home.
There is so much to see, and do and eat in Hoi An. We spent our days riding around on motor bikes checking out local areas such as the old quarter of Hoi An along the river. This area is packed full of restaurants and shops of every kind. It's a must-see near the Japanese bridge. Hundreds of lanterns fill every corner. There is so much incredible food choices. We spend a bit of time each day at the beautiful beach called An Bang beach. We explored the rice fields on bikes at Tra Que vegetable village between the town and An Bang beach where all the local vegetables come from. We went on a Basket Boat tour in the Coconut Forest. And spent the day at sea on a Cham Islands Snorkelling Day Tour.
We highly recommend visit this wonderful place.
Next up we visit Ho Chi Minh City , (commonly known as Saigon). Stay tuned!

Experiencing Local Life in Hoi An Vietnam
Second stop during our stay in Vietnam was to a charming lil city, Hoi An. Hoi An was a place we both really enjoyed and we stayed longer than most visitors to there to properly soak it all in.
During our time in Hoi An, we stayed at An Bang Stilt House. A traditional style building that's in a great location. It's a 5 min bicycle ride away from the beach and only a short drive away from Hoi An Old Town too. Plenty of Grab taxis to get us there. We had the most friendly and welcoming host ever (Kim) who made us feel right at home during our entire stay. We recommend ordering her home-cooked meals, they were so good!
An Bang Stilt House
Address: Group 4, Tan Thanh, Cam An ward, Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam 563800
We also enjoyed a unique and special tour of Hoi An away from the tourist attractions and out into the more remote countryside of Hoi An.
Our tour of Hoi An, Vietnam was with XO Tours. This is a really cool tour company where all the tours are done on scooters and with friendly, knowledgeable, female riders (the company wanted to give females more job opportunities so created XO Tours) but the best thing is you get to immerse yourself in the local life of Hoi An and Vietnam.
We got to learn about the daily work lives of locals, try our hands at their craft and ended the tour with a invitation into a Vietnamese family home for an amazing home cooked meal. Definitely a great experience and one to try for yourselves if you're visiting Hoi An and looking for things to do.
We're here in Vietnam for a month, so expect plenty more food and travel videos to come. Stay tuned! ????

Hoi An Lanterns town - Best Hoi An Hotels and Activities
Hoi An Ancient Town is known for one of the best Vietnam Tourism Places with spectacular views, people and also known as Hoi An city of lanterns
This is my Complete Guide about Hoi An Vietnam. In depth information on the best things to do in Hoi An. Popular Vietnam tourism places to Visit, Hoi An Hotels, and Hoi An restaurant. Lets go!
I start my trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang city
Time to Visit Da Nang - Hoi An
Da Nang - Hoi An Weather is about the same around 30-35 degree.
Since Da Nang and Hoi An beach cities, the best time to visit is from January to April when it is not extremely hot and not raining. During this time Hoi An weather should be sunny and around 30 degree which a lots better than 35.
Trip details:
- 9 AM: I took the taxi to SGN airport. Round trip for $100. Please be aware 2 things
1. Traffic to get to the Airport at Ho Chi Minh City is very unpredictable. I have stucked in the traffic once for more than 30 mins. So give yourself a little bit extra time
2. If you take budgeted airline such as Vietjet then expect to be delayed for 30 mins at least and they will not do any real appology to you. Do not expect much.
- 11 AM: I finally get on broad as it is delayed for a bit
- 2 PM: I got to Da Nang airport. I booked a taxi in advance from Da Nang to Hoi An first to catch the Hoi An laterns festival occur every Saturday and on the 14th of “lunar calendar”
* Da Nang to Hoi An is 30km drive. Usually Taxi will cost about $20 to get to Hoi An. If you Google “Taxi Da Nang Hoi An” you will find some local service to do it for $10. If you need help comment down there I will give you a hand.
-4:30 PM: I got to my Hoi An hotels which is Vinh Hung Library. I got it for ~$25 at the time of booking. Personally I think it is one of the best hotels Hoi An with amazing roof top pool in this price range.
Here is my affiliate link to this hotel
- 5:00 PM: Head down to the walking street of Hoi An. Make sure you try Mot water $0.75. If you don’t know where it is Google up “Mot Cafe Hoi An” for direction on Hoi An Map
- 5:45 PM: We decided to take a boat tour on the Thu Bon River Hoi An. It is about $5 for roughly 20 mins trip. You will have to purchase the little floating lanterns 50 cents for 3 ( make sure you don’t get ripped off) and you put them down the river. Very lovely and photogenic.
- 7:00PM: Get Hoi An Chicken Rice. The best Hoi An Restaurants for Chicken rice in fact “Cơm Gà Bà Buội” restaurants but unfortunately it is closed that day. Just right across the street of this restaurant, I found a street vendor selling the same thing $3. Glory hell, my best chicken rice I have ever had. I cant help myself to come back and try the “Cơm Gà Bà Buội” see how good that is.
-8:00 PM: A cup of drink $1.5 from there as well.
After that I just walk around Hoi An lanterns town to check out the lanterns at night
Totalling: ~$145.25
My name is Alex and I am a typical millennial who struggle with the concept of working 9-5. This is my story on a journey to discover myself, my own path and backpacking vietnam. Day Trips OUTSIDE of Hội An (Should You Stay in Da Nang or Hội An Vietnam??)
Spending a few days in Hội An?? Old Quarter is cool and all but after a few days it gets a little repetitive. We'd suggest renting a motorbike and heading 5 kilometers outside of Hội An to Da Nang. Loop in Marble Mountain with your beach day and you'll be in good shape!
