The Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) is situated near Cluj-Napoca, Romania covers an area of over 250 hectares and is often referred to as the Bermuda Triangle of the country. Hoia Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ), has a reputation for intense paranormal activity and unexplained events. Reports have included, ghost sightings, unexplained apparitions, faces appearing in photographs that were not visible with the naked eye, and in the 1970s, UFO sightings were reported.
Visitors to the forest often report intense feelings of anxiety and the feeling of being constantly watched. Moreover, the local vegetation is somehow bizarre in appearance, like something out of a make-believe story with strangely shaped trees, and unexplained charring on tree stumps and branches.
The forest was named after a shepherd that disappeared in the area with a flock of two hundred sheep. Most people who live near the forest are afraid to enter it due to the stories and legends that have been handed down. They believe that those who visit the site will never return back home. Many of the locals who have been brave enough to venture into the forest complained of physical harm, including rashes, nausea, vomiting, migraines, burns, scratches, anxiety, and other unusual sensations.
This dense forest first gained notoriety in the late 1960s when a biologist named Alexandru Sift snapped several amazing photos of a flying disc-shaped object in the sky above the forest. On August 18, 1968, a military technician named Emil Barnea captured a famous photography of a saucer flying over the Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) . The, in the 1970s, the area was a hotbed for UFO sighting and unexplained lights.
People who have entered the forest to this day get inexplicable rashes or they begin to feel very light-headed and ill. Moreover, the electronic devices are known to malfunction when introduced into the area. Some paranormal investigators have associated these strange malfunctions with supernatural activity.
The Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) has a reputation for paranormal and unexplained activity and people have witnessed numerous strange events on the land. The most common phenomenon includes the sudden appearance of mysterious orbs of light. People also report hearing disembodied female voices breaking the heavy silence, giggling and even apparitions, Thereare many cases of people reportedly being scratched. All these things happen with no reasonable explanation.
Some people believe that the forest is a gateway to another dimension. Within the dark interior of Hoia-Baciu Forest ( World’s Most Haunted Forest ) , people have been known to disappear, strange lights have been seen, the wind seems to speak,. Several stories tell of people entering the forest and experiencing missing time. Some have known to be missing for quite some time with no recollection of how they had spent that time.One such story focuses on a 5-year-old girl who wandered into the woods and got lost. The story goes that she emerged from the forest 5 years later, wearing the same untarnished clothes that she wore on the day she disappeared with no memory of where had happened in that interval of time.

The Hoia-Baciu forest is a fascinating place. Once you cross its boundaries, you find yourself immersed in a world of magic that truly captivates your mind. Although it lays a few kilometers away from the city of Cluj-Napoca, the heart of Transylvania, it still holds a wild, untamed spirit, which reminds us of the importance that nature holds in our lives. Locals nearby are familiar with the strange energies contained inside. The phenomena manifested there, beyond their power of understanding, prompted them not to ask reckless questions. Because of fear, the forest remained, for a long period of time, shrouded in mystery. The place itself is a mythical source of lore and legends. In this episode we explore some of the most important unsolved cases.

Most Haunted Forest in the World? Hoia Baciu - Romania's Time Portal!
We visited the Hoia Baciu haunted forest in Cluj Napoca, Transylvania, Romania...
We arrived in Cluj, the capital city of Transylvania on Halloween... 31/10/19... but were too scared to enter the forest at night on Halloween so spent the next day hiking through the forest.
Hoia Baciu is reknowned as being one of the world's most haunted forests. Since the 1960's there have been tales of supernatural happenings, UFO sightings, people going missing and all kinds of unexplained phenomenon. Our Romanian friends refused to enter the forest, believing it harbours evil spirits.
This was our experience walking into the depths of one of the world's most haunted forests.

In the third part of our series presenting hiking destinations close to the city of Cluj-Napoca in the heart of Transylvania, we visit the Hoia-Baciu forest infamous for the paranormal activities observed here. The Hoia Forest (Romanian: Pădurea Hoia; Hungarian: Hója-erdő) is a forest situated to the west of the city of Cluj-Napoca, near the open-air section of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania. The forest is used as a common recreation destination. In recent years a biking park has been added to the forest, along with areas for other sports such as paintball, airsoft and archery. It is commonly believed that paranormal phenomena take place in the forest, and this reputation attracts yoga practitioners, Wiccans and paranormal enthusiasts.
The Hoia Forest is famous worldwide for its alleged frequent and varied paranormal phenomena. In 1968, a citizen of Cluj photographed a UFO in Poiana Rotundă (The Round Meadow). These photos were judged to be among the few of their kind which were supposedly authentic, according to assessments.[citation needed]
Beginning in 1960, Alexandru Sift, a professor of biology, has studied the phenomena of light and magnetism which occur in the forest. This study yielded a rich archive of photographs of the phenomena, which was lost several days after Sift's death in 1993. The few remaining photographs were published in 1995 in the book Fenomenele de la Pădure Hoia-Baciu by Adrian Pătruț, professor of chemistry at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and a friend of Sift. Pătruț continued Sift's research, and claims that the strange phenomena have a scientific basis which has yet to be sufficiently understood. However, news of the phenomena has brought about many urban legends in Cluj, which attract many visitors to the forest who hope to capture such a phenomenon themselves. On August 18, 1968, a military technician named Emil Barnea captured a famous photograph of an unidentified flying object over the Hoia-Baciu Forest.
Pădurea Hoia este o pădure situată la vest de municipiul Cluj-Napoca, în apropiere de Muzeul Satului. Pădurea este folosită ca loc de agrement. În ultimii ani s-a amenajat un Bike Park, iar în zonă sunt practicate și alte sporturi, precum paintball, airsoft sau tirul cu arcul. Există unele discuții legate de faptul că în Pădurea Hoia la fel ca in padurea Baciu ar avea loc fenomene paranormale, idee care atrage în zonă practicanți de yoga, Wicca și amatori de paranormal. Hoia este vestită în lume pentru frecvența cu care apar aici diverse fenomene paranormale. În 1968, un clujean a fotografiat în Poiana Rotundă un OZN, fotografiile fiind printre puținele de acest gen autentice, după părerea specialiștilor. The Hoia Forest is a forest situated to the west of the city of Cluj-Napoca, near the open-air section of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania.

In 2002, it was the last reported UFO filmed over this forest by two people living in Cluj, who lived on the top floor of a building on the outskirts of the neighborhood Manastur.
This mysterious area has become popular among numerous researchers from all corners of worlds due to its unusually high amount of strange phenomena, especially for paranormal activity. For instance, in the 1970s, the area was a hotbed for UFO sighting and unexplained lights.
The name of the forest literally translates from Romanian as Shepherd’s forest.
In 1968, Alexandru Sift, a biologist fascinated by its creepy history, visited this forest and he was looking for an explanation for the unusual shapes of the trees.

Cluj-Napoca is situated in the northwest part of Romania. In the heart of the Transylvanian region. It is also called the unofficial capital of Transylvania, treasure city of Transylvania. Cluj is second highest populated city in Romania after Bucharest with a population of around 3,25,000 people. Cluj is a rising city in education, industry, and business. Cluj is famous for its vibrant nightlife, street food festival, music festivals such as the Untold and Electric castle. So, let's begin with the top 10 interesting
facts.
1. European Youth Forum awarded Cluj-Napoca the
title of the European Youth Capital and why not, there is a reason behind this which brings us to
Point no 2. There are 100,000 students studying in 11 different universities in Cluj-Napoca. Babes Boyai university is one of the highest ranked Romanian higher institutions in the world.

He went to the forest with 200 sheep and never came back again. People have reocrded photos of flying saucers from this forest, people have heard bizarre voices of men and women. They have seen unusual shaped trees and stuff like that. It has called so much attention in the world
that famous celebrities such as Nicolas Cage visited this haunted forest. Don't worry nothing happened to him. But if you are someone who is looking for thrill and adventure, consider visiting this haunted forest in Romania. Romania has no dearth of haunted places where its haunted and this Hoia-Baciu forest is one of them.
