Travel In Japan, Showa-no-Mori and Hoki Museum
This time out in Chiba prefecture I was off to see two new places. First on the list was Showa-no-Mori I believe it to be the largest park in the prefecture. What an incredible place. Dropping in just a little ways into winter now there was incredible colour to see and I had a great time culminating with a delicious pick nick lunch a la my Japanese Sensei. The second place was called Hoki Museum. This museum is specifically dedicated to ultra realism. Again what an amazing place. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Information and Access : Guide to Visiting the Hoki Museum
Hours: 10 am to 5：30 pm (Last admission is 30 minutes before closing)
Closed on Tuesdays, except open on holiday Tuesdays and closed on the following Wednesday. The museum is closed for during the holiday periods at year end, New Year and late August, and closed for exhibit changes in late May and middle November.
Entrance Fees
Adults: 1,800 yen
High school and university students and visitors 65 and older: 1,300 yen
Junior high school students:900 yen
Elementary school and younger children are admitted free of charge.
However, no more than two elementary school children per adult will be admitted.
Access
By train and bus:
Take JR Sotobo Line to Toke Station
From the Toke Station South Exit, take the Bus Asumigaoka Brand New Mall (5 minutes) to Asumigaoka Higashi 4-chome stop, walk 1 minute
By car:
15 minutes from the Nakano Interchange on Chiba Togane Road.
10 minutes from the Mobara Kita Interchange on Ken-O expwy.
Paid parking spots for 40 cars available at the museum

駅から散歩・JR外房線土気駅(Toke)
2012.09.30 JR東日本千葉支社「駅からマップ」土気駅コースを歩きました。
駅北側の県道大網街道沿いは歴史が色濃く残る地域です。
それに対し、南側は山林だったところを大手不動産会社が一大住宅地に開発しました。
土気駅は昭和50年代までは木造の小さな駅舎でしたが、昭和61年に現在の駅舎が完成しています。
昭和の森は昭和50年に千葉市の自然公園としてオープンしました。
昭和の森近くに数年前にオープンした「ホキ美術館」があります。
