Homewood Cemetery. Pittsburgh, PA
We have lost someone close to our family. To honor him, I have taken photos from this summer, that I had uploaded to flickr.com/lesphoto and added music and motion.

Homewood Cemetery Walk!
Today we went through the gates of Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh!
I'm not sure how people would view going on a cemetery tour but my sister and I went on a small one.
Small because we did it ourselves and because at some point we completely ran out of steam as this cemetery is HUGE! Is Homewood one of the most popular cemeteries to visit? If it's not already it really should be. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Does that sound creepypasta to you? It doesn't really to me. Are there ghosts in Homewood Cemetery? Possibly. It's full of dead people and by definition, ghosts are dead people.
I really wouldn't call this a creepy video. I don't find any of this scary. Would I visit on a dark night? Probably not. I mean...ghosts can penetrate windshields right? Many of the tombstones were elaborate and there were quite a few weeping angels which if you're a Doctor Who fan...you know you don't mess with weeping angels.
My kid sister and I had originally decided to walk it out but quickly realized that the heat was a bit too much and the cemetery a bit too large.
As always, I would love to hear from you.

Landmark Gravestones of Western Pennsylvania
Amidst the angst and tumult of the living, there is solace walking among the dead. The landmark cemeteries of Western Pennsylvania—Allegheny Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial Park, Cavalry Cemetery and many others—are not just places of serenity and repose, they are among the most astonishingly beautiful sites in our region.
In these sanctuaries of quiet majesty, the dead speak to us. They tell us of times long passed, of loved ones long gone--and they remind us of the fragility of the human condition. The gravestones of the great, the infamous, and the ordinary mark the history of our region and command the reverence of all who encounter them.

Strange Cemetery in New Galilee, PA
This cemetery is located in a remote corner of New Galilee, PA. I actually found it by accident and had no idea it existed. Sadly, I am not aware of the name of this cemetery. (If someone who views this video and knows the name of this place, please let me know and I will change the title of this.) It is quite old and looks to contain some interesting and fascinating history. I hope you enjoy it!

Chartiers Cemetery - Professional Landscapers or Criminals?
The International Corporation that owns this cemetery, as well as the management, need to be dealt with harshly, but it's the workers who intentionally desecrate graves, because they're too lazy to DRIVE and extra 1 minute, then hide behind a loophole in the state statute intended to protect workers from accidently causing damages. If you are a Veteran, or any God-fearing decent person and you know the idiots that call themselves professional landscapers at Chartiers Cemetery, let them know how you feel. They have been desecrating graves for eight (8) years (after 30 years of good care by another company) and it gets worse every year. These ruts over these graves are a foot deep in some places, enough so to pop that tombstone out of the ground that had been there for 38 years!

Point Breeze Community and Real Estate
Adjacent to Shady Side and Squirrel Hill, Point Breeze exists largely as a residential community filled with stately homes.
But that’s not all. The neighborhood also hosts much open space, with Westinghouse Park, Mellon Park, the scenic Homewood Cemetery as well as the northern edge of Frick Park within its borders.
However, Point Breeze's claim is due to Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Dillard's popular memoir, An American Childhood, set in Point Breeze in the 1950s, and the Frick Art Museum which is Internationally recognized as a premier museum and research center, known for its distinguished Old Master paintings and outstanding examples of European sculpture and decorative arts.
Today, Point Breeze is about the people and the homes. Here you can find them out for a stroll along a residential street, or on their way to Frick Park.
Culture, a multitude of housing options, and proximity to downtown are just a few reasons you may want to call Point Breeze home.
So if you are looking for the charm of an older neighborhood with all of the advantages of an urban lifestyle, then look no further, Point Breeze may be the place for you!
