What's going on here?
We quit our jobs, left New York City, bought a car, and decided to spend the summer driving around the US. The plan is to hit at least 35 states and cover more than 10,000 miles. Watch from the beginning here:

Our Gear:
Canon G7X Mark II: (it’s amazing and basically sees in the dark)
Canon G7X: (the original is almost as good, but less expensive)
Joby Gorillapod: (fantastic versatile bendy tripod – this is the slightly smaller “action” version that’s easier to travel with and comes with a mount for a camera and a gopro)
Macbook Air: (we edit everything on Final Cut Pro on a Macbook Air, which is light and easy to travel with)
External Hard Drive: (the videos are a little too big for the macbook air to handle, so I edit everything off an external hard drive)

Nashville, Tennessee - February 18th, 2019
Nashville was so much fun! Being a country music lover, I spent two wonderful days smiling from ear to ear ????
We went to the Bicentennial Park, the Tennessee State Capitol, the Country Music Walk of Fame, the Gulch and the murals in 12th South.
We spent some time at the Honky Tonk Central and walked in basically every single Honky Tonk (bars where they play live country music) on Music Row. We were able to go to a few rooftops as well, despite it being a rainy day.
We finished off our trip with a walk on the Shelby Pedestrian Bridge and a view of downtown Nashville.
We had SO much fun and I definitely will be back to spend a summer weekend in one of the most alive cities I’ve been to! ????❤️

A Honky Tonk on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville Tennessee. Roberts Western world
A honky tonk is a type of bar with musical entertainment common in the Southwestern and Southern United States, also called honkatonks, honkey-tonks, tonks or tunks. The term has also been attached to various styles of 20th-century American music. As of 2007, honky tonk seems to be the most recognized and mainstream subgenre of country music. Lawmaker pushes for ‘to go’ cup bill for lower Broadway
Thank you for watching & please subscribe us!
A proposal to allow people to carry cups of beer or liquor with them as they walk around lower Broadway was shot down last year.
Now the Nashville Convention and Visitors bureau is pushing for a more limited form of the “to-go” cup bill.
The proposed legislation would allow people to carry beer and liquor in to-go cups between the area of the Music City Center, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Omni Hotel.
“We are competing so closely that many times that may be the difference in a convention saying, ‘I’m going to go to Atlanta instead of Nashville.’ It’s a lot of tax revenue we just lost,” said Charles Starks, the president and CEO of the Music City Center.
Steve Smith and Al Ross, the owners of Tootsies, Honky Tonk Central and Rippy’s, called the legislation “a good start.” In fact, they would like for it to include businesses on Broadway because they think it will encourage tourism, which boosts their bottom line.
State Senator Steve Dickerson (R) Nashville filed the bill this week.
“The reason we chose to make this bill much tighter than we had intended in the past was due to some objections that were voiced by the Metro Council and by local business people. Our goal is not to have tourists running the street with drinks in their hands, but rather to make these three buildings sort of a cohesive unit for tourists and for conventions,” Dickerson told News 2.
The bill should come before state lawmakers in the next couple of weeks.

Historic Alley Named After Legendary Honky Tonk
Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.NASHVILLE, TN - - Every day of the year music fills Tootsies Orchid Lounge. Most people come in through the front door, but just around the corner is another very famous entrance. Many artists came here to relax before or after the Grand Ole Opry including my dad Hank Williams says Jett Williams. The legendary alley entrance that Hank and hundreds of others have walked through has been revitalized. The original sign that hung for 60 years is glowing once again. When we started remodeling we decided to get the sign revamed they did a great job with it. It let's people know where the world famous entrance is as well says Tootsie's owner Steve Smith But that's not all. The alley itself was also named in honor of the legendary bar. When the Grand Ole Opry left, Tootsie stayed and then we kept it going. says Smith. A nod to one of Nashville's most well known landmarks and yet another reason for folks to visit Music City! Tootsies is also in the process of preserving the famous walkway that goes from the back of The Ryman to that back alley door at Tootsies.

USA - Southern Hospitality 2011 - Nashville's Honkytonk Badonkadonks
July 19, 2011. Sophie and I are in Nashville, TN, at our first honkytonk for a late lunch. Up until this trip I'd never used the term honkytonk as much in my life; I gotta say, I'm still not a huge country music guy but I have a growing respect and appreciation for it. Here we're at a place called Roberts (I think), located right in the Honkytonk district on Broadway.
PS - On that pamphelt, that's a picture of Andrew Jackson, 7th president of the United States and a good ol' Tennessee boy.
PPS - Even more important, that Pabst Blue Ribbon only cost $2.50 USD. That was like $2.00 CDN that day. What a bargain!

Keeping Nashville's Honky Tonk Alive
By day, Kevin Martin runs on coffee and the promise of 5 p.m. But by night, it’s bright lights, shiny boots and steel guitars. Together with his friend, Brendan Malone, they makeup “The Cowpokes,” a two-step band playing 1950s country-western tunes wherever and whenever they can. On Tuesdays, they play the American Legion Post 82, a community center turned cinder block honky tonk where the floor, and the bar, stay packed. The Tuesday nights have become an intergenerational to-do, making dance partners out of tattooed young Nashvillians and graying veterans. Kevin and Brendan eat, sleep and breathe music, reviving honky tonk’s golden age with every show they play.
