The Hood River County Fruit Loop - Hood River Oregon - August 12, 2013
This is just a few farms around the 35-mile scenic drive that's on the list of what is called the Fruit Loop in Hood River Oregon. Get to visit the valley's orchards, farmlands, and vineyards. Get to sample all the locally grown Oregon Fruits and Vegetables as well as the great Oregon Wine. My favorite is the Oregon Pinot Noir Wines and the Marion Berries fruit which is like black berries but much sweeter.

A Visit to Bonneville Lock & Dam ~ Columbia River Gorge in Oregon!
Welcome to our visit to The Bonneville Lock and Dam on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge! This is a great place to spend a few hours and marvel at the engineering and design of this amazing masterpiece of the 1930's. And don't forget the fish ~ with viewing windows of the fish ladder, I think a few hours could be spent just sitting and just watching!

Touring Columbia Gorge Hotel
This week's Northwest Winecast features Part 2 of our visit to the Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River, Ore.
The historic property, built in 1921, staged the 2010 Northwest Wine Summit competition. Paul Robinson, general manager of the hotel, is a veteran of the Northwest food and wine industry. In fact, he was profiled as a Match Maker chef in Wine Press Northwest during his days at the now-shuttered Sundance Grill in Richland, Wash.
In this episode, we take a tour of the historic property and grounds.

Towns to Trails: A Trekking Vision for the Columbia Gorge
Picture yourself lacing up your boots for a Gorge hike--except this time, the day hike with great views and wildflowers becomes a multi-day adventure trekking from temperate rainforests into sagebrush grasslands. Step by step, you discover never seen waterfalls and viewpoints tucked deep into the recesses of the Gorge and stop at wineries and orchards as you fully immerse yourself in the Gorge’s five distinct ecological zones. At the end of each day’s hike, rather than heading home, you’re rewarded with great local food, wine or hand-crafted beer, and a night’s rest at a comfy bed and breakfast, lodge, or hotel. What was a day hike to remember becomes an unforgettable multi-day journey.
