Horsethief Trail Hike
This is a great hike that I've been on several times. I usually only go to the Bridge of Heaven; though the trail has multiple possibilities on to the east. There is a herd of bighorn sheep in the area and I caught a very nice ram on video on my latest trip. Enjoy!

A 360 view of North Clear Creek Falls near Creede, Colorado
This remote waterfall in Hinsdale County falls more than 100 feet. Overlooks give visitors a chance to get close to the falls. From June to August people might be lucky enough to catch a view of a Black Swift. Those birds spend the summer in Colorado before migrating to Brazil in the winter.

Columbine Lake Hike
A hike to Columbine Lake in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. This is one of the most beautiful alpine lakes I've ever seen. The color is incredible. No wonder it's named Columbine Lake

Sentinel Point - Colorado 12er Dayhike
This 12,527-foot heap of boulders is a prominent point on the west flank of Pikes Peak. It makes a great get-in-shape hike, with just enough elevation gain and thin air to remind your body what it’s like fighting gravity in the alpine environment.
The hike involves some route finding between sporadic cairns, so take along good directions and a map, such as the Pikes Peak Atlas. The area could hold snow well into spring, so be prepared to turn back and save the summit for another day if need be.
Going up a trail at Sand Gulch
This was a side trip at Sand Gulch off from the main road (Shelf Road) while we were on our daytime trail excursion in my FJ Cruiser.
THE KROHN LAKE RANCH
Krohn Lake Ranch is nestled in the Upper Blackfoot Valley, one of the most coveted and pristine locations in the Northern Rockies. More than 200 years ago the Lewis & Clark expedition passed through here on its way across the Continental Divide, guided by the Nez Perce, who followed this route to the buffalo. In 1882, John Krohn homesteaded the area and gave the largest lake its name, and in 1865, miners struck gold in nearby Lincoln Gulch. A River Runs Through It was filmed here in the Upper Blackfoot Valley, about 50 miles nothwest northwest of Helena, the state capital.Nearby Lincoln, just 9.5 miles to the West on Highway 200, offers basic goods and services including a grocery store, a gas station, several restaurants, medical services, and paved public airport with a 4200’ lighted runway.
Pristine wildlife sanctuary
You’ll find no shortage of wildlife here. The 35 acre private lake, 1.3 acre pond, and naturally fed springs support an amazingly diverse selection of animal life, including moose, elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, red fox, bald and golden eagles, osprey, trumpeter swans, Canadian geese, sandhill cranes, great horned owl, blue heron, west-sloped cutthroat, rainbow trout, and many more. 392 acres of conifers, aspen groves, grasses and wetlands meticulously cared for and professionally developed for the past 15 years to promote a healthy forest, wildlife habitat, and elk calving grounds.
An outdoorsman’s dream
Enjoy all the adventures Montana has to offer at Krohn Lake Ranch, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own your own 392-acre wildlife sanctuary and private 35-acre lake estate stocked with west-sloped cutthroat and and triploid rainbow trout. Located on the southern edge of the Bob Marshall/Scapegoat Wilderness complex, the property offers unmatched peace and privacy, breathtaking panoramic views of the Rockies, and a myriad of outdoor pursuits right outside your doorstep. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, ATV off-roading, horseback riding, hunting, target shooting, fishing and boating all without setting foot off your property. Should you desire to venture out further, 1.5 million acres of backcountry is just minutes away as well as direct access to 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails just waiting to be explored.
Exceptionally striking luxury custom home
The exquisitely built 5,076 sq. ft custom log, post and beam home is a true work of art and captures the picturesque beauty of the ranch from every room and in every detail. A grand entryway abstraction of fallen trees inlaid into limestone floor brings the great outdoors indoors and sets the tone for the exceptional architectural features to follow. An enormous, dazzling wall of windows pulls you into the great room and completely overwhelms the senses, flooding the space with an abundance of natural light, sweeping birds-eye mountain and lake views, and the most vibrant sunrises. A massive native rock fireplace soars to the peak of the vaulted cathedral ceilings spanning 36’ and grounds the heart of the home with giant exposed beams and airy loft overhead. The great room opens up to an adjacent formal dining room and gourmet kitchen with custom hickory cabinetry and granite countertops throughout. Two sets of glass double doors reveal 2,000 sq. of covered Brazilian hardwood decking, vaulted log canopy, and custom hand rails with treetop views. Dinner music is the chirping of birds, elk bugling, and the splash of the moose swimming below. An outdoor open hearth wood fireplace with backlit mantel offers an instant escape from reality and a romantic cozy fire for enchanting starry nights. In the east wing, the main floor master suite features two additional decks, a stone fireplace, spacious walk-in closet and bath complete with a steam shower and clawfoot tub. Precision cut steel balusters lead you to the lower level with a large family room and bar, an ultimate hangout for movies and gaming. Innovative wall-to-wall architectural shelving solutions accentuate the home’s rustic and modern sensibilities all the while making storage look beautiful. Two bedrooms and bathrooms, and two bonus rooms provide flexibility for use as spare bedrooms, a gym, or an office. With all these incredible modern luxuries while still being able to take in the relaxing natural surroundings ask yourself: Why aren’t I living here already?
