Carolingian Westwork and Civitas Corvey - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Carolingian Westwork and Civitas Corvey is an interesting and unusual UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has two distinct facets: the Carolingian-era Westwork (or facade) of a church, dating back to the 9th century, while the Civitas Corvey is the archaeological remains of a town and monastery that grew up around the church. Both are strongly associated with Charlemagne and his successor Louis the Pious, as well as the Christianisation of Germanic tribes, playing a key role in the development of Europe. Let's have a closer look!

ENGEL DER KULTUREN IN KOBLENZ
Zur Kunst- und Kulturaktion Engel der Kulturen konnte der Katolische Frauenbund viele KooperationspartnerInnen und das Künstlerpaar Gregor Merten und Carmen Dietrich gewinnen, die es sich genau wie der Frauenbund zum Ziel gesetzt haben, ein vermittelndes Symbol in die gegenwärtige Beziehung zwischen den drei Weltreligionen Islam, Judentum und Christentum einzubringen. Es wurde ein Rundgang durch die Stadt Koblenz zu ausgewählten Orten mit der rollenden Skulptur Engel der Kulturen gemacht, dort wurde jeweils ein temporäres Sandbild gelegt.

THE HISTORY, The lady, Ann Harrison, Who owned the property was taken into a care home
and sadly passed away, Her son returned to the family home to sort though his mothers belongings. Upon doing this, he discovered that people had broken into the house and had
gone through eveything that was there. This made him worry, and since then he has not returned
to the home. He does still live fairly local, It was also found out that people had broken into the home while she was still in the house sleeping in the living room during her final years.
Since all the good photos and videos of this place have been made, the place has now been trashed. It is such a shame to see it like this, But i am pleased that i got the chance to doccument it before anything further happens to the place, A very sad story, But a great explore.

The Abbey of Lorsch is a former Imperial abbey in Lorsch, Germany, about 10 km east of Worms.
It was one of the most renowned monasteries of the Carolingian Empire.
Even in its ruined state, its remains are among the most important pre-Romanesque–Carolingian style buildings in Germany.
Its chronicle, entered in the Lorscher Codex compiled in the 1170s is a fundamental document for early medieval German history.
Another famous document from the monastic library is the Codex Aureus of Lorsch.
In 1991 the ruined abbey was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The abbey was founded in 764 by the Frankish Count Cancor and his widowed mother Williswinda as a proprietary church and monastery on their estate, Laurissa.
It was dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
The founders entrusted its government to Cancor's nephew Chrodegang, Archbishop of Metz, who became its first abbot.
The pious founders enriched the new abbey by further donations.
To make the abbey popular as a shrine and a place of pilgrimage, Chrodegang obtained from Pope Paul I the body of Saint Nazarius, martyred at Rome with three companions under Diocletian.
In 1248 Premonstratensian monks from Allerheiligen were given charge of the monastery with the sanction of Pope Celestine IV.
During the Thirty Years' War Lorsch and its neighbourhood suffered greatly.
In 1621, Spanish troops pillaged the abbey and most of the buildings at Lorsch were pulled down.
After the Archbishopric of Mainz regained possession of it in 1623, the region was returned to the Catholic faith.
However, the abbey remained a ruin and served as a source of building materials for the whole region.
The most depressed period for Lorsch was during the wars of Louis XIV of France in the late 17th century.
Whole villages in the region were laid in ruins, the homes of the peasantry were burned, and the French soldiers torched the old abbey buildings.
One portion, which was left intact, served as a tobacco warehouse in the years before World War I.
The ancient entrance hall, the Königshalle or aula regia, built in the ninth century by King Louis II, is the oldest monument of Carolingian architecture.

North Rhine-Westphalia was formed in 1946 as a merger of the northern Rhineland and Westphalia, both formerly parts of Prussia. Its capital is Düsseldorf; the biggest city is Cologne. Four of Germany's ten biggest cities—Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, and Essen—are located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The state is currently run by a coalition of the Social Democrats (SPD) and Greens.

Oldtimertreffen im Indutrie- Museum Enneptal
Text Indutrie Museum Ennepetal.(Ein Privat Film von Autounion1961)
Direkt am Ufer der Ennepe steht das in den Jahren 1891 und 1896 errichtete Backstein- gebäude. Es wurde als Holzschraubenfabrik für die Firma Bödeker, Ebbinghaus & Co. erbaut und zuletzt als Eisengießerei von der Firma F.W. Kruse KG betrieben. Besonders reizvoll sind die großen ungeteilten Hallen mit ihren jeweils 60 gusseisernen Säulen. Heute beherbergt das Gebäude zahlreiche historische Maschinen aus der Eisenwarenindustrie und eine reizvolle Ausstellung von Gussstücken, Modellen, Arbeits- geräten und Fotos. Es ist ein Ort des Mitmachens für Jung und Alt. Mindestens einmal im Monat lädt der Förderkreis Industriekultur Ennepetal e.V. zum Gießen und Schmieden ein. Technik und ihre Zusammenhänge sollen durch eigenes Tun erlebbar werden.
Wer nach so viel Arbeit ein ruhiges Plätzchen sucht, wird es garantiert im verschieferten Fachwerkhaus nebenan finden. Hier bietet der Förderkreis im Café Kuchen und Getränke an. Eine Präsenzbibliothek hält zudem reichlich Lesestoff rund um die Technik bereit.
Das Gebäudeensemble am Ufer der Ennepe steht seit 1984 unter Denkmalschutz.
An jedem ersten Sonntag in den Monaten April bis November (11-18 Uhr) öffnet das Industrie-Museum Ennepetal (im Aufbau) seine Türen, für Jung und Alt und für Oldtimerfreunde mit ihren Fahrzeugen auf Sonntagsfahrt.
