The Longevity Temple at the Holy Summit Baoding Shan (宝顶山) is located close to the Treasured Summit Hill in the province of Chongqing. Besides the Emei Shan (峨眉山 ) it belongs to the sacred possessions of the Buddhists in China. The temple was built in 1178 and still serves as a monastery.
Like the Dazu Rock Carvings it is part of the UNESCO's World Heritage List since 1999.

Der Longevity-Tempel am Holy Summit -- (Baoding Shan - 宝顶山), nahe dem Schatzkammerberg bei Dazu in der Provinz Chongqing, gehört neben dem Emei Shan zum heiligen Besitztum der Buddhisten in China. July 10. Have a listen to the religious singing/chanting of the Buddhist monks at this Tibetan temple. They are known as the Red Sect or Red Hat monks, and they are best known for their prayer, music, and deep meditation techniques. The origin of the name Red Hat is in the dress code of the Nyingma Sect monks of the 11th century.

Datong, China: Nine Dragon Screen & Huayan Si Monastery
After you visit the fabulous Yungang Cave Temples, the only other two sites worth visiting are the colorful Nine Dragon Screen and Huayan Si Buddhist Monastery.
It may take a whopping 10 minutes to visit both sites and...hey...there's nothing else to do in Datong so you may as well make the effort and see them.

Hua Yan Temple is a Buddhist Temple in Chongqing municipality, Hua华 means China, Yan岩 means rock, so it's literally China Rock Temple. There is a vegetarian restaurant there, a Buddhist learning center which I assume you can attend a class there. It's worth a visit if you're in Chongqing.
