Christian Olson and Jarred Goldweber - Cougar (Rob Deez and Josh Damigo)
I had an amazing time down south at the Mississippi Saxophone Festival, but one of the most amazing moments happened on the way down there.
We stopped at a little town between Nashville and Memphis Tennessee called Parkers Crossroads to get gas and fuel up for the rest of our journey. I was pumping gas I was noodling around on my harp when I heard a faint voice say is that a harmonica?. I looked up and met Christian Olson, a 20-year-old guitar player/ singer/ songwriter from Denver Colorado that was on his way to Nashville Tennessee.
Christian and I were talking and being 20 something musicians, we decided to trudge down the hill from the gas station and have a jam session I will never forget under a giant tree in the middle of a grassy field. little did we know this was a civil war battlefield on December 31, 1862 honoring all 737 of those people who died on that day. I asked Christian if I could record us and we did. check out Christian Olson's professional page on facebook below.
Christian, I have a feeling this won't be our last encounter and that the journey has just begun between the two of us.
