I had a chance to fly from near the Huron Municipal launch area past the Huron Pier and Lighthouse to lake Erie.

Driving around Huron, Ohio
Commercial and industrial development of Huron had historically been centered around the riverfront port area. By the early 1960s a busy downtown business district had developed, serving local residents and summer tourists. However, with improvements to U.S. Route 6 and Ohio Route 2 bypassing the downtown area and enabling quicker travel to larger neighboring cities, downtown Huron went into decline. Starting in 1967, the City of Huron embarked on a controversial urban renewal program with funding from various programs of the U.S. federal government, such as the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the State of Ohio. The city purchased, in some cases by eminent domain, and demolished 38 commercial buildings and private homes. It then built a municipal marina, called the Huron Boat Basin, as the focal point of a new downtown. While the Boat Basin has become a popular community park and gathering place, extensive redevelopment of the downtown area did not occur as quickly as envisioned. New industry and commercial development has more recently occurred on the southern and western city limits and suburbs.

ABOUT THIS FEED:
Port Huron, Michigan is located on the St. Clair River at the mouth of Lake Huron. The river flows between Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair and is about 40 miles long. Port Huron is 60 miles northeast of Detroit.
You’ll see dozens of vessels a day, including freighters, tankers, tugs, barges, salties, passenger ships, international visitors and other vessels.
The shipping season on the Great Lakes normally runs from mid to late March through early January. However, the severity of the winter will impact the exact dates the shipping lanes open and close. Winter is also an opportunity to catch an ice breaker in action!

Skipper Noah's first run at the tiller of The Fishy Kid 16' jon boat. The Sears 3.5hp motor did the job. The weather was cool and cloudy, but no thunderstorms. Thirstin and Lubby had a nice tour past our camp.
Episode 23 - Presque Isle Bay, Family & Friends
In this episode, Nicole's parents come for a sail (Dad drives the boat). Nicole takes her first solo drive in the dinghy (It's opposite.). We do some boat projects (lots of varnishing). We anchor in Presque Isle Bay (Stockton Island). Nicole practices her chipmunk voice. We visit fellow cruisers on their boat and do some exploring on the island.
RV Camping Michigan Trip 2017 - Episode 3 - Ann Arbor to Manistee - Casino Camping
We head west on I-96 towards Muskegon where take the 31 north up to Manistee. It was an uneventful trip. We passed through Lansing and Grand Rapids. We saw wind mill farms. We arrived at the Little River Casino and checked in. Here's a tip: if you arrive after hours, you have to go to the Casino to check in. After hours is considered somewhere around 5pm or so. Not exactly sure of the time they closed the RV office for the day, but it was around that time.
