Mount Hymettus is one of the five mountains encircling the metropolitan area of Athens; the one defining its east verge. This is a video I made during a short trip with the Mountaineering Club of Athens, crossing the ridge of the mountain's northern portion.

The Kaisariani Monastery (Greek: Μονή Καισαριανής) is an Eastern Orthodox monastery built on the north side of Mount Hymettus, near Athens, Greece.
The monastery was probably established in Byzantine times in ca. 1100, which is the date of construction of the surviving church (the monastery's katholikon). Nevertheless, the site has a far longer history as a cult center: in Antiquity, it was probably a site dedicated to Aphrodite, before being taken over by Christians in the 5th/6th centuries. Remains of a large early Christian basilica lie to the west, over which a smaller church was built in the 10th/11th centuries.

The central square of Athens. The Square is named after the Constitution that the first King of Greece Otto was obliged to grant, after a popular and military uprising on September 3, 1843.
06. Panathenaic Stadium
A multi-purpose stadium used for several events and athletics. Hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Tthe only stadium in the world built entirely by marble. One of the oldest in the world.
07. National Garden
A public park of 15.5 hectares (38 acres) in the center of the city. Encloses some ancient ruins, tambourines and Corinthian capitals of columns, mosaics, and other features.
08. Temple of Hephaestus
A well-preserved Greek temple. It is a Doric peripteral temple. From the 7th century until 1834, it served as the Greek Orthodox church of St. George Akamates.
09. Kaisariani Monastery
An Eastern Orthodox monastery built on the north side of Mount Hymettus. In Antiquity, it was probably a site dedicated to Aphrodite. Was built on the ruins of a lay building.
10. Hellenic Motor Museum
A car museum. Opened in March 2011. The collection consists of 300 cars of which about 110 are displayed periodically. ffers many other facilities such as a Formula 1 simulator, a road safety educational programme and an amphitheatre.

Athens riviera, Vouliagmenis Avenue | Greece top attractions
Vouliagmenis Avenue is one of the longest avenues in the Greater Athens area, stretching from central Athens to the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni. The total length is 21 km. The avenue begins next to the Temple of Olympian Zeus at the city centre and the southbound portion of the avenue runs with three lanes to the southern portion of Athens and eastern Dafni. The nearest Attiko Metro subway stations that lie within this avenue are Agios Ioannis, Dafni, Agios Dimitrios, Ilioupoli, Alimos, Argyroupoli and Elliniko. Part of the southern section of the Red Line runs underneath the avenue. It has an intersection with the road linking with the Hymettus Ring of the Attiki Odos motorway and Katechaki Avenue. It also has several intersections in Glyfada and with the Vari-Koropi Avenue.
Vouliagmenis Avenue (or 80th National Road 80) is an avenue of Athens. It is the main road of the Southern Suburbs. Its total length is 21 km.
It starts from the center of almost Athens and ends at the beginning of the Municipality of Vouliagmenis, in connection with Poseidonos Avenue. Vouliagmenis Avenue does not have a single design as it starts with two different roads at the height of Pagrati, to become a single Avenue at the height of Agios Dimitrios.
It has three lanes per direction and there are also internal roads to serve local traffic. Its major drawback lies in the presence of dozens of lanterns, while there are only two interchanges all over the area at the height of Argyroupoli and at the entrance of the Eastern Airport of the former Hellenic Airport. On the axis are hundreds of commercial enterprises and the Athens Metro Mall, which opened for the first time in 2011.
Around the road axis were the Municipalities of Agios Dimitrios, Ilioupolis, Argyroupolis-Hellenikos, Alimos, Glyfada and Voula-Vouliagmeni.
Today, Avenue is waiting. The great work that concerns him is the restoration of the Greek. The project includes the exploitation of the old Airport area, which is to become the new point of reference of the city with the construction of a whole new city within the city, and the creation of the large Metropolitan Park.

Ξεκινά από το κέντρο, σχεδόν, της Αθήνας και καταλήγει στις αρχές του Δήμου Βουλιαγμένης, σε σύνδεση με την Λεωφόρο Ποσειδώνος. Η Λεωφόρος Βουλιαγμένης δεν έχει ενιαίο σχεδιασμό καθώς ξεκινά με δύο διαφορετικούς δρόμους στο ύψος του Παγκρατίου, για να γίνει ενιαία Λεωφόρος στο ύψος του Αγίου Δημητρίου.
Διαθέτει τρεις λωρίδες κυκλοφορίας ανά κατεύθυνση ενώ υπάρχουν παράλληλα και εσωτερικοί δρόμοι για την εξυπηρέτηση της τοπικής κίνησης. Το μεγάλο μειονέκτημα της βρίσκεται στην παρουσία δεκάδων φαναριών ενώ υπάρχουν μόλις δυο ανισόπεδοι κόμβοι σε όλη της την εκταση, στο ύψος της Αργυρούπολης και στην είσοδο του Ανατολικού Αεροσταθμου του πρώην Αεροδρομιου του Ελληνικού. Πάνω στον άξονα βρίσκονται εκατοντάδες εμπορικές επιχειρήσεις και το εμπορικό κέντρο Athens Metro Mall που λειτούργησε για πρώτη φορά το 2011.
Γύρω από τον οδικό άξονα αναπτύχθηκαν οι Δήμοι Αγίου Δημητρίου, Ηλιούπολης, Αργυρούπολης-Ελληνικού, Αλίμου, Γλυφάδας και Βούλας-Βουλιαγμένης.
Σήμερα η Λεωφόρος είναι σε φάση αναμονής. Το μεγάλο έργο που την αφορά είναι η ανάπλαση του Ελληνικού. Το έργο περιλαμβάνει την αξιοποίηση του χώρου του παλιού Αεροδρομίου, που πρόκειται να γίνει το νέο σημείο αναφοράς της πόλης με την κατασκευή μίας ολόκληρης νέας πόλης μέσα στην πόλη, και το δημιουργία του μεγάλου Μητροπολιτικού Πάρκου.
Ταυτόχρονα, για να μπορέσει να αντέξει το μελλοντικό συγκοινωνιακό φορτίο, μελετάται η επέκταση της Δυτικής Περιφερειακής Υμηττού (Αττική Οδός) μέχρι τη Λεωφόρο Βουλιαγμένης, στο ύψος της Αργυρούπολης. Πάνω στον άξονα της Λεωφόρου λειτουργούν 7 σταθμοί της γραμμής 2 του Μετρό της Αθήνας (κόκκινη γραμμή): Άγιος Ιωάννης, Δάφνη, Άγιος Δημήτριος, Ηλιούπολη, Άλιμος, Αργυρούπολη, Ελληνικό.
