Ollantaytambo Tour in the Sacred Valley, Cusco, Peru
The sixth day of my South American trip.
Today was spent on a bus tour around the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru.
Ollantaytambo is a town and an Inca archaeological site in southern Peru some 60 kilometers northwest of the city of Cusco. It is located at an altitude of 2,792 meters (9,160 feet) above sea level in the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, Cusco region. During the Inca Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti who conquered the region, built the town and a ceremonial center. At the time of the Spanish conquest of Peru it served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, leader of the Inca resistance. Nowadays it is an important tourist attraction on account of its Inca buildings and as one of the most common starting points for the three-day, four-night hike known as the Inca Trail.

AMAZING PERU SALT MINES | Chinchero, Salinas de Maras, and Moray Peru | Cusco Day Trip
On this vlog, we are doing what we think is the prettiest Cusco Day Trip of all! We visit three different sites in the northwest part of the Sacred Valley Peru:
1. Chinchero Andean village
2. Moray Peru (or, specifically the Moray Ruins)
3. Salinas de Maras (or, the Salineras de Maras - Maras Salt Mines)
The Chinchero colonial town has some of the best views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and it is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. There is a beautiful church that you must visit, as well as a colorful Peruvian textile market that rivals the Pisac Market.
The Moray Ruins is an archaeological site that served as an Inca experimental farm during the sixteenth century. Different levels of platforms were created with different soil types, brought from all over Peru, as an experiment to try to create the perfect condition for farming in Peru.
Finally, we went to the Salineras de Maras - or the Maras Salt Ponds. Maras Salt Mines Peru was built on a side of a cliff and have been in production for hundreds of years, producing the high quality Pink Marasal Salt.
Keep in mind that if you want to visit this Peru Salt Mines, make sure to tell your driver that you want to visit Las Salineras de Maras Peru. The town of Maras Peru is located twenty minutes away, and the journey to Salineras of Maras requires extra fee if you happen to hire a driver.

iletours Peru: The Fortress of Sacsayhuaman Travel To Cusco, Attractive Tourist Peru
The structure is built in such a way that a piece of paper can't fit between the union of the stones. This precision, combined with the rounded corners of the limestone blocks, the variety of their interlocking shapes, and the form of the walls lean inward, helped the ruins survive devastating earthquakes in Cusco.
The construction of Sacsayhuaman would have been initiated during the inca Pachacutec government, then continued during the government of Tupac Yupanqui and finished with Huayna Capac. this information can be extracted from ethnohistoric sources one of them wrote by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega,
WAQRAPUKARA OTHER ATRACTIVE IN CUSCO
Waqra is horn in Castilian. Pukara equates to strength. The horns rise 4,300 meters above sea level, on the summit of a huge ravine covered with forests that crown the abysses that overlook the canyon of the Apurimac River. The archaeological monument is surrounded by impressive platforms, squares and a forest of stones that resemble thrones with mythological giants contemplating the mountainous landscape.

Arequipa Luxury Tours
Arequipa is the capital of the Arequipa Region in southern Peru. With a population of around 750,000 it is the second most populous city in Peru after Lima. Arequipa lies in the Andes mountains at an altitude of 2,380 meters (7800 feet) above sea level with the snow-capped volcano Misti majestically overlooking the city. Travel Vlog: Paracas & Huacachina wirh Peru Hop
Follow Daniel and me around as we explore Paracas and Huacachina with Peru Hop. We booked with Peru Hop in advance that provided transportation from hotel in Lima to our overnight stay in Huacahina. I am about 8 weeks pregnant in the video and can advise that the sandboarding is actually a very smooth and easy ride. Hardest part will be climbing the sanddunes back up to get to your ride. Take water and have fun!
We opted out in the share hostel room Peru Hop offered and got our own hotel in the oasis with Banana Adventure Hostel. They offer one free activity or tour with their stay. We chose the nightly BBQ which was delicious.
