서울 Seoul Diary: 아이스갤러리 Ice Gallery in 북촌 Bukchon
Half Day Compilation Footage Sightseeing in Seoul, Korea.
Destination for the day:
Ice Gallery(아이스갤러리), Address: 43, Bukchon-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul
서울특별시 종로구 북촌로5길 43 (화동).
Early in the day it was the worst rain ever. It looked like night time. We all bought umbrellas in the underground 동대문 Dongdaemun or 남대문 Namdaemun (gotta double check) market. We cruised through the massive market area underground and ended up buying face masks from the ajuma you see in the beginning. There were some amazing antiques there such as old rotary phones and clocks. Not sure why there is such an abundance of antique items for sale but they are real and me being the history buff that I am, I wanted to buy everything!
When we finally got to Ice Gallery the sun was out and it was nice. The gallery is amazing and I can't imagine being an ice sculptor unless you really love to be in the cold! It was a whole ice world and I gotta say I was so impressed with it. Lots of people pass through the museum and you gotta be careful when you wanna go lay on the ice bed or sit on the ice chairs because they are very slippery and you could fall and knock your teeth out! Luckily that didn't happen and all the adventures of getting to the ice museum was worth it.
After, we walked to Tea Therapy Haengnang (Anguk-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul) and had Hanbang Patbingsu (Tea Therapy Bingsu) and then outside did a complimentary foot bath with tea extract which is great for relaxation and just a few bucks extra. The street behind is a small one and mostly locals walking by after school and work. The area is very quiet and nothing you would expect to be within the Seoul city limits. The Hanok village was near, but on this particular day we didn't go.
After our foot bath we caught a ride to Pop Container Cafe in 신촌 Sinchon, Address: 5-11, Changjeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. (near Ewha women's university station....i think. IDK too much stuff in one day i'm trying to figure out where i was exactly. After this, we walked around in Sinchon and Hongdae)
We had the giant Oreo bingsu and it was awesome. The cafe is trendy with mostly university students and the area is perfect for walking around and in our case, if you get lost, the people were very nice and helped us find our way.

The Trickeye Museum is one of a kind painting gallery which combines art with high-end technology featuring AR (Augmented Reality) effect and 2D/3D illusions. Instead of merely viewing paintings as one would in a typical art gallery, visitors can interact with paintings using the newly developed Trickeye Camera app to make paintings come alive and become part of the artworks while recording it on video or taking pictures. In addition, the Ice Museum, located inside the Trickeye Museum, is filled with objects that are fully made out of ice, such as iced TV, ice kitchen, ice slope etc. With just one admission ticket, visitors can enjoy both the Trickeye Museum and the Ice Museum. To ensure that even the busiest customers don’t miss out on the fun, the museum stays open each day all year round from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. (last admission by 8 p.m.), making it a popular dating spot or a hang-out place.
