How to get around Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.
In this video I go over all the basic information needed when taking public transportation in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.
Taking public transportation in a foreign city can seem scary but it's truly easy and a much more affordable option. While taking taxis will go directly to your destination it will be much more expensive
When arriving at the Cancun International Airport you have three transit options to choose from.
1st - You can take the ADO bus. The ADO is a large, comfortable and hassle free way to get out of the airport. Currently it cost less then 100 pesos to get from the Cancun International Airport to downtown Cancun and just over 200 pesos to get from the Cancun International Airport to 5th Avenue (Playa Del Carmen). From there you can transfer and take the ADO bus to Tulum.
2nd - You can take a taxi. A taxi from the Cancun Airport to downtown Cancun or the Hotel Zone currently cost you 300-400 pesos per ride. Be sure to ask the locals what the current rate should be before getting into a taxi.
3rd - Booking a private shuttle. If you’re traveling in a group of 3 or more this will likely be the most affordable option. Book it before arriving.
As tourist the only two Cancun buses you need to be aware of is the R-1 and R-2 bus. They travel between the Hotel Zone, Downtown Cancun and the ferry terminals.
Now when traveling in Playa Del Carmen or Tulum taking a colectivo will be the most budget friendly option. A colectivo is a small minivan that works as a bus. The colectivo will have the final destination (and sometimes other major stops) on the front of their windshield. The colectivo that travels between Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum will stop at any point along the way, just be sure to sit near the drive and let them know where you want to get off.

Trip from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to Cancun International
Friday March 2nd, 2018 - Not my driving, on pickup shuttle from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to Cancun International Airport. Was not able to mount the camera in the center front of the windshield, had to hang it off the passenger window. Went north on Mexico route 30, almost a straight shot to Cancun International(CUN). Good weather, uneventful drive, except witnessing an accident 2 cars in front of the shuttle.

Driving to CHICHEN ITZA on your OWN and on Budget! from Cancun or Playa del Carmen, Mexico!
Hi Everyone,
We stayed at Paradisus Cancun and had a day full of Excursion's check out our previous atv/speed boating video. We rented a car because we were only in Mexico for 4 days and didn't have time to take the bus for a full day. If you take the bus off the resort it's literally takes you at 7am and brings you back for 8pm. We really wanted to see chichen itza but didn't know what to do, so we saw this car rental company in the resort and they saved the day! Everyone told us it's dangerous driving in mexico and honestly it was pretty scary alot of stops on the highway ( to pay for using the highway). But overall it was super safe and fun! Just do your research before, alot of scammers out there.
I Highly recommend staying at Paradisus Cancun on your next visit! It's super safe, kid friendly, fun for adults as well.
We enjoyed our Trip & hope you enjoy once you visit!

PLAYA DEL CARMEN MEXICO VLOG
Last month, my friends and I went on our 2nd annual friends trip to Mexico! We did Puerto Vallarta on our inaugural friends trip, and this time we ventured to the east coast of Mexico, to the state of Quintana Roo.
TRAVEL- We took direct Southwest flights from Los Angeles to Cancun. We booked a shuttle pick-up from the airport to our hotel, but otherwise took taxis from our hotel or in the tourist areas of Playa del Carmen to get around. They do not have Uber ride share in Quintana Roo, so taxis are the only option to get around.
LODGING- We stayed at the Carmen Hotel, located right on the beach and a block from Calle Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue), the tourist shopping area perpendicular to the beach. It is a small, boutique hotel with a small infinity pool if that is what you are looking for. Boutique hotels have its pros and cons. If looking for all the bells and whistles, then go with a large hotel; otherwise, boutique can be a whimsical, rather unique, and dare I say intimate experience.
ACTIVITIES- Playa del Carmen is known for its water parks, built within the natural landscape of the jungle. There are a ton of options—some more water-based, others adventure-focused, and still others en fuego! We explored Xplor, which is a full-day water park with zip lines, hammock swings, amphibious vehicles, and rafting. Buffet lunch is also included in the admission price, and it’s surprisingly tasty. Sure, the idea of a water park may sound slightly cheesy, but knowing it's part of the cenote and jungle is crazy cool.
FOOD- For a unique dining experience, I recommend Alux, a restaurant that is located inside a real cave! They serve “Mexican contemporary and international cuisine,” and the food and drinks are delightful—not to mention you might see and hear a few bat flutters during your meal! Might I recommend their passion fruit cocktail which was tangy and refreshing!
Playa del Carmen is a world away from Mexico's west coast, but definitely worth exploring. Is Playa del Carmen on your bucket list? Also, stay tuned for my Tulum video, which is a hop, a skip, and a jump away from Playa del Carmen!

FAQ driving to chichen itza pyramid? yucatan from cancun mexico to myan ruins safety, vacation info
Driving to Chichen itza Yucatan From Cancun is not as complicated as you may think. the toll roads are very safe, brand new, and with many rest stops and clean facilities. Most of the drive is completely straight and flat, making travel simple.
I advise renting a car with Hertz to avoid some scams that have sadly become famous in cancun. Please remember your insurance from other countries wont work with renting cars here. its a common misconception.
