Independence Grove, Libertyville, il Drone footage. Independence Grove, Lake County’s newest “natural treasure”, is located approximately 2.5 miles west of IL-294 at the IL-137 exit, in north suburban Libertyville. This lovely 1100-acre preserve contains a beautiful indoor/ outdoor special event facility (Audubon Hall), an outdoor event pavilion (North Bay Pavilion) and a stunning Native Garden, all of which have been built around a 115-acre lake, complete with marina, swimming beach and a walking trail with bridges.
Audubon Hall, located at the highest point in the
preserve, offers a panoramic view of the marina, lake
and beach. This handsome structure is constructed
with cedar, stone and glass that wonderfully complement
the natural resources of the preserve. The elevated
ceilings and the spacious design make this the perfect
setting for a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, holiday party or
corporate meeting.
Audubon Hall also has spacious indoor and outdoor
pre-function (cocktail) areas, and can comfortably
accommodate a sit-down event of 50-350 guests, or a
cocktail event of 500. Reservations are now being taken.

The Natural Scene
Large oaks dominate these woodlands that blend with small prairies. This landscape resembles what Lake County looked like when it was first settled. Bluebirds, foxes and screech owls are just a few of the animals living here. Time one of your visits to coincide with the August peak of prairie flowers blooming. You'll be treated to a rainbow of colors, ranging from golden alexanders to purple milkweed. Learn more »
