A short film on life in Inishmaan (Inis Meáin) in the early 1970's. Inishmaan (meaning middle island) is the middle of the three Aran Islands in Galway Bay on the west coast of Ireland. It is part of County Galway in the province of Connacht.

I was lucky enough to meet some kind folk on my way back from Clare Island, They asked to join them where they live on the Aran Islands. So after an appearance at Clifden Arts Week I made my way to the lovely Inishmaan. I enjoyed wandering the island with my happy snapper ( little camera). I had a real great time and was a relaxing break from a busy schedule of touring.
Even managed some nice swims in the cool Atlantic. I played a mini concert in the local pub...
These are just some random photos I took while walking around the Island in September 2014. The weather was perfect!!

Come with us on our day trip to the Aran Island of Inis Mor!
The Aran Islands are a group of three islands situated off Galway Bay.
You can reach them easily from GALWAY with different day trips (you might also like the idea to stay the night on the island, no added costs only inform your tour operator that you'll take the ferry the day after!).
From Galway city center we took the bus for approximately 40 min, then dropped us at the ferry's terminal, other 40 min on the ferry and we arrived on Inis Mor. We decided to rent the bikes from the local bike hire for 10 euro (5 euro deposit). It was pretty easy cycling around the island, even if we only had 6 hours to wonder around and eat, we managed to see almost everything!
Both the cliffs and the Worm Hole were breathtaking!
Definitely suggested for everyone travelling to Ireland or Galway.

Dusty the Dolphin gets a danish massage, Inis Óirr (Inisheer), County Galway, Ireland 25072015
Dusty the Inisheer dolphin gets a scratch from Danish Scottish cattle farmer Kim Valentin. Dusty was named after the famous singer Dusty Springfield after her ashes were buried at sea from the cliffs of Moher. Dusty is a wild Bottlenose dolphin, Deilf bolgshrónach as gaelige (Irish language). Dolphins are strictly protected under Irish law and it is illegal to harass them. If you swim or touch her uninvited she will first warn you by slapping the water with her tail. If you ignore her warning she will hit you with her tail or butt with her beak, which is very painful. Best admire her from a distance as she is Banrion na Mara ( A Seaqueen)
Getting the Ferry to Inis Meain
Getting the Electric Zoo animals on the passenger ferry to the Aran Islands was a struggle but great fun! We got some interesting looks...

The Aran Islands are located just off Galway and Doolin on the west coast of Ireland.
We came here on the recommendation of an acquaintance and was the most relaxing experience we had in the short period of about 24 hours.

Angry dolphin attempts to attack swimmer
Dusty, an infamous dolphin who has recently garnered a reputation for being spotted near popular beaches, attempts to scare off a swimmer while marking her territory off Inisheer in Galway Bay, Ireland. Luckily, the swimmer's dog came to the rescue!
