인사동 - Walking around Insadong, Seoul, Korea
Insadong-gil is well known as a traditional street to both locals and foreigners and represents the culture of the past and the present. It contains a mixture of historical and modern atmosphere and is a unique area of Seoul that truly represents the cultural history of the nation. The majority of the traditional buildings originally belonged to merchants and bureaucrats. Some larger residences, built for retired government officials during the Joseon period, can also be seen. Most of these older buildings are now used as restaurants or shops. Among the historically significant buildings located in the area are Unhyeongung mansion, Jogyesa - one of the most significant Korean Buddhist temples, and one of Korea's oldest Presbyterian churches.
The area is well known for sightseeing, with approximately 100,000 visitors on Sundays reported in 2000. Insadong is also a visiting spot for foreign dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth II and the princes of Spain and the Netherlands. It contains 40 percent of the nation's antique shops and art galleries as well as 90 percent of the traditional stationery shops. Particularly noteworthy is Tongmungwan, the oldest bookstore in Seoul, and Kyung-in Art Gallery, the oldest tea house. There are daily calligraphy demonstrations and pansori dancing performances.
Ssamzigil, a shopping mall that concentrates in specialty stores of handcrafts, is also a prominent destination in Insadong. It opened in 2004.

Insa-dong is a dong, or neighborhood of the Jongno-gu district of Seoul. The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district,[1] with modern galleries and tea shops.[2] At one time it was the largest market for antiques and artworks in Korea.[3]
In area, 12.7 hectares (or 31.4 acres),[4] the district is bordered by Gwanhun-dong to the north, Nagwon-dong to the east, and Jongno 2-ga and Jeokseon-dong to the south, and Gongpyeong-dong to the west.
Insadong was originally two towns whose names ended in the syllables In and Sa. They were divided by a stream which ran along Insadong's current main street. Insadong began 500 years ago as an area of residence for government officials.[6] During the early period of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), the place belonged to Gwanin-bang and Gyeonpyeong-bang - bang was the name of an administrative unit during the time[7] - of Hanseong (old name for the capital, Seoul).[5] During the Japanese occupation, the wealthy Korean residents were forced to move and sell their belongings, at which point the site became an area of trading in antiques. After the end of the Korean War, the area became a focus of South Korea's artistic and cafe life.[6] It was a popular destination among foreign visitors to South Korea during the 1960s, who called the area Mary's Alley.[8] It gained in popularity with international tourists during the 1988 Seoul Olympics.[6] In 2000 the area was renovated,[9][10] and, after protest, the rapid modernization of the area was halted for two years beginning that year.[6] In recent years the backstreets of Insadong have continued to be gentrified with cafes, garden restaurants, and traditional pension-style accommodations.

Seoul, South Korea, is truly an amazing city to visit! It's modern, easy to navigate and there's little something everyone will enjoy. The Seoul subway system makes it easy to get around town and discover exactly what the giant city has to offer.
Surrounded by Japan and China, Seoul and South Korea sometimes doesn't get all the attention is deserves . Korea is home to a unique culture, cuisine and a fascinating history. If you ever have the chance to visit Seoul, you'll have a great time!

I stayed in South Korea for just over 2 weeks and was able to complete this entire list of things to do in Seoul.
However, even though there are so many places to see and go, probably my favorite of all is eating and sampling delicious Korean food! Korean food is so good and there are so many restaurants everywhere you look in Seoul that it can truly be considered a foodie's paradise.
If you get a chance to visit Seoul I hope your'e able to do all these wonderful things while you're there!

Be sure you prepare right clothes for the season.
I went to Korea in Autumn. It was cool and a bit chilly, especially for someone who comes from a tropical country.
If you're going late Autumn, prepare scarf, bonnet and gloves.
*I took Philippine Airlines and it takes about 4 hours from the Philippines to Incheon, Korea.
The airfare was around $340.
From Incheon going to Seoul, it would take about an hour travel.

Insadong Market Street | Walking Tour Seoul Korea 4K UHD
Explore the beautiful city in Seoul!
Take a walking tour through Insadong. This 30 mins video was shot in 4K. IInsadong is one of the most famous sights in Seoul, and many Koreans and foreign tourists visit it every day. There are many traditional crafts and galleries here, and there are many cafes where you can experience Korean traditional tea. Especially, I recommend you to listen to Ssamzie which is famous market of Insadong.

Hi guys! In this video, I'm giving you guys a tour of Mangwon-dong. Mangwon dong is a neighborhood on the outskirts of Hongdae. On Instagram it’s probably most famous for its pink vending machine cafe, Zapangi, but mixed in with a few trendy cafes and restaurants is a local market with a very “old Korea” working class feel to it. If you are looking for cheap produce in Seoul, Mangwon Market is a good place to find it. In the market, you can also find Korean street food vendors, so this is a less crowded and less touristy alternative to Gwangjang market. This is one of my husband's favorite places to hang out because of the old world Korea feel. It also has quite a few trendy cafes and places to eat. If you have time, definitely check this neighborhood out!
How to get to Mangwon-dong: Take the Seoul Metropolitan Subway to Mangwon Station (망원역) on Line 6. Go out of exit 2, turn right. When you see lalala, turn right on the street and walk for about 10 minutes. You will see the market on your right side.

Visit Fun Insadong Market, Seoul
Seoul is filled with markets, stalls, street food (the Dongdaemun area has 30,000 stores - that's right, 30,000) but two stand out in my opinion for quantity of goods and gold 'ol fun; Namdaemun and Insadong with Insadong hitting the winner's tape by a hair.
