INDIA'S BIGGEST SLUM- Dharavi Slum Tour Thoughts & Mumbai City Tour! | Mumbai Vlog
I went out on a half day trip around the City of Mumbai with Arpan from Bombay Walks in a local way. We started the day by going to Dhobi Ghat which is where they do all of the laundry! This is a must visit place in Mumbai!
Afterwards we went to Dadar Flower Market and then got a bus to Worli fishing Village and to see Worli Fort. This is something I couldn't have done by myself and I was glad I did a City Tour with a local to help me see this side of Mumbai!
Two days later I went on a Slum Tour to India's biggest Slum - Dharavi Slum, also where Slumdog Millionaire was filmed. I couldn't film whilst I was inside but I could film at the start. Overall my thoughts on the Slum Tour were positive. Dharavi Slum is a unique and productive slum where people work and it feels more like a village. It is not a case of doing a slum tour and staring at peoples poverty. I did the Slum Tour with Reality Tours and I would really recommend going with them as they give back to the community of the slum.

Places to visit in Mumbai | Mumbai Trip Budget | Mumbai tour guide | Mumbai city of dreams
Mumbai city of Maharashtra is a spectacular paradox of chaos and hope, glamor and squalor, modernity and tradition, old and new. Famously known as the City of Dreams, Mumbai ? formerly known as Bombay ? has a long colonial history, starting from Gandhi?s visits to the city to the intense protests against the Simon Commission in 1928, the city has stood witness to many important events in the country?s freedom struggle. Today, Mumbai is a beautifully blended melting pot of cultures and lifestyles. The city soaks in everything into its fabric, making it its very own. From European and Portuguese inhabitants who migrated years ago to the city, to upcoming actors struggling to make it big on the silver screen; from Bolly superstars to big industrialists to tribes of fisherman and slum dwellers, Mumbai is a city that proudly boasts of stories from different walks of human survival.
One of the main centres in the country of art, culture, music, dance and theatre, Mumbai is a dynamic, cosmopolitan city that has been running for years solely on the indomitable spirit of the Mumbaikars.
If you want to soak in some of the city's reminiscent colonial feeling, start by taking a walk around the streets of South Mumbai, which is basically old Bombay. South Mumbai is dotted with buildings that will make you feel like you?ve been transported back in time to the British era; the British influence on the architecture of buildings is very prominent in almost every building you come across.
The most iconic tourist spot in Mumbai has to be the Gateway of India, and this awe-inspiring structure is located right on the waterfront overlooking the Arabian Sea. The majestic Taj Mahal Hotel, which is another famous Mumbai landmark, is directly opposite the Gateway of India, so you can spend an entire day at these two locations alone, immersing yourself in the marvellous history of this town replete in rich heritage.
Since Mumbai is situated right beside the Arabian Sea, there are various promenades where you just sit back and relax and feel the breeze on your face. Marine Drive is one such promenade where you can sit with your feet dangling over the ledge, and enjoy a beautiful sunset against the backdrop of the roaring waves of the Arabian sea. When in Mumbai, don?t forget to visit Bandra, which is home to most of the Bollywood stars, and is a laid-back suburb which houses many bars and nightclubs where you can experience the best of Mumbai?s nightlife.
Mumbai?s local cuisine is a food lover?s paradise, and the local street food comprising of items such as vada pav, pav bhaji, dahi puri, pani puri and kala khatta will pamper your taste buds without burning a hole in your pocket. Being a metropolis, Mumbai is a shopping haven, and there is pretty much nothing that you won?t be able to find here. Street shopping in Mumbai is best experienced at Colaba Causeway and Linking Road, where you can buy everything from junk jewellery to shoes, bags and even fancy designer clothes

Mumbai India - A Visit to Dharavi
Mumbai India - it's been awesome. We wound up in Dharavi, which I definitely did not see coming. Help me make better videos at and then find me on the internet in all of the usual spots:
(me)
Grab my guide to Paris here:
(merch)
(my books)
(Disposable Camera Four digital scans)
Music by: Dyalla
My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa and hoping to make the city of light my home base - at least for the foreseeable future. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlog daily, and love pizza a little too much.
Links below to Amazon are affiliate links - meaning if you click through them and buy something, I'll get some pennies. Thanks! (The FTC wants me to tell you that up front)
FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I currently film almost exclusively with my Samsung Galaxy S8:
How do you get those shots where you're walking or running? - A Joby Gorillapod for smartphones, like this:
You drop your phone a lot, how does it survive? - THIS CASE IS AMAZING: (Galaxy S7) - (Galaxy S8) - (iPhone)
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
But what are you doing there? - Living it up!
Do you speak French? Oui.
You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here:
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - what's your PayPal? - Here's a handy link!
I like PayPal in pink! - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one:
And here's the French one:
Can I come stay with you in Paris? - Have you seen my apartment? It's too small for me as it is!
OK, but how do I use the Metro when I'm there? - I made a handy video for you:
