We are all being present at the event significant not just economically but politically as well. Of course, it is launch of the production of the quality product with a registered brand name such as Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya. But more importantly, today we see the state restoring its rights for the these trademarks which is no less than a national treasure.

They are stealing private property. We are the rightful owners of these trademark. They were duly acquired in 1992 during the period of privatisation. They were run by other investors for several years to the point of bankruptcy. When the present owners came in they settled all existing debts and have pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into the company taking it from a potentially bankrupt brand to one of the most successful brands of distilled spirits in the world. Having seen all of that activity and being aware of the transfer of title, being aware of the sale of assets in the mid 1990s - we have been tax payers paying taxes on our profits in Russia for a decade - after all this activity the Russian government now says, since it's successful, we want to take the brands back. They have actually no right or authority to do that.

STORYLINE:
A battle is being waged over who owns the rights to Stolichnaya, the world's best selling vodka.
Russia has recently relaunched the brand. Its deputy prime minister Alexei Gordeyev attended an unveiling ceremony at the Stolichnaya factory in Chernogolovka, outside Moscow.
But the Russian Agriculture Ministry and a privately owned company, SPI Spirits Group, have been locked in a bitter court dispute over Stolichnaya and other popular brands of the spirit.
The Russian government claims SPI, a Swiss-based firm made up of former agriculture officials, obtained the vodka trademarks as a result of an illegal privatization deal in the early 1990s.
The dispute intensified earlier this year when Russian authorities seized 150 shipping containers of Stolichnaya and other vodkas belonging to the SPI group.
After a series of contradictory court rulings, Moscow's Arbitration Court ruled that Russia's Agriculture Ministry - not SPI - owned the Stolichnaya and other vodka trademarks.
But while the Russian government has clearly won the war at home, the outcome of the billion (b) dollar battle is far from certain.
lawyers for SPI insists it is the rightful owner of the trademark and says it will continue to pursue the case in international courts.

On March 9, 2015, Richard Schofield filled 10 empty vodka bottles he’d collected from the abandoned Old Jewish Cemetery in Kaunas with modified Litvak photographs dating from the post-Holocaust period of Soviet occupation in Lithuania and threw them into the Nemunas River at the place where the Kaunas Ghetto once stood. Written on the photographs were a variety of enigmatic texts as well as Richard’s contact details. Click on the video below to watch an edited version of the ‘performance’, part of larger experimental project that examines the veiled and peculiar relationships between Kaunas’ pre-war Litvak architecture, monuments and open spaces and the city's contemporary physical and intellectual landscapes.

Mikhail Gorbachev
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (Russian: Михаи́л Серге́евич Горбачёв, tr. Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachyov; IPA: [mʲɪxɐˈil sʲɪrˈɡʲejɪvʲɪt͡ɕ ɡərbɐˈt͡ɕɵf] ( ); born 2 March 1931) is a former Soviet statesman. He was the seventh and last leader of the Soviet Union, having served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991, and as the country's head of state from 1988 until its dissolution in 1991 (titled as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1988 to 1989, as Chairman of the Supreme Soviet from 1989 to 1990, and as President of the Soviet Union from 1990 to 1991). He was the only general secretary in the history of the Soviet Union to have been born after the October Revolution.
Gorbachev was born in Stavropol Krai into a peasant Ukrainian–Russian family, and in his teens operated combine harvesters on collective farms. He graduated from Moscow State University in 1955 with a degree in law. While he was at the university, he joined the Communist Party, and soon became very active within it. In 1970, he was appointed the First Party Secretary of the Stavropol Kraikom, First Secretary to the Supreme Soviet in 1974, and appointed a member of the Politburo in 1979. Within three years of the death of Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev, following the brief interregna of Andropov and Chernenko, Gorbachev was elected General Secretary by the Politburo in 1985. Before he reached the post, he had occasionally been mentioned in Western newspapers as a likely next leader and a man of the younger generation at the top level.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Tallinn (; Estonian: [ˈtɑlʲˑinˑ]; names in other languages) is the capital, primate and the most populous city of Estonia. Located in the northern part of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, it has a population of 434,562. Administratively a part of Harju maakond (county), Tallinn is a major financial, industrial, cultural, educational and research centre of Estonia. Tallinn is located 80 kilometres (50 mi) south of Helsinki, Finland, 320 kilometres (200 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia, and 380 kilometres (240 mi) east of Stockholm, Sweden. It has close historical ties with these three cities. From the 13th century until the first half of the 20th century Tallinn was known in most of the world by its historical German name Reval.
Tallinn, first mentioned in 1219, received city rights in 1248, but the earliest human settlements date back 5,000 years. The first recorded claim over the land was laid by Denmark in 1219, after a successful raid of Lyndanisse led by king Valdemar II, followed by a period of alternating Scandinavian and Teutonic rulers. Due to its strategic location, the city became a major trade hub, especially from the 14th to the 16th century, when it grew in importance as part of the Hanseatic League. Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Tallinn has the highest number of startups per person among European countries and is a birthplace of many international high technology companies, including Skype and Transferwise. The city is to house the headquarters of the European Union's IT agency. Providing to the global cybersecurity it is the home to the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
Tallinn is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top ten digital cities in the world. The city was a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku in Finland.
