Ipoh is a town that is rich with historic context. The tourism
industry is dependent on the transportation facilities and
amenities. Through transportation analysis in Ipoh, it is
identified that the arrival of tourist is at least 50% from the
16 million tourist arrival in Perak. Based on the urban
analysis, it can be concluded that the existing
transportation facilities is not suffcient to cater the
capacity of tourist arrival in Ipoh historic town. The
existing KTM station is the starting of heritage trail which
will present the image and cultural identity of Ipoh historic
town. However, upon the arrival of visitor from the KTM
station, there are lacking of satisfactory public
transportation, visitor information center and other
facilities that could support their journey throughout Ipoh
town. The existing Medan Kidd bus station has the closest
proximity to KTM station which is 250m away but is lack of
visibility to the KTM user. There are also less concentration
in providing cultural information within the KTM station
walking proximity. This is important as the museum which
act as information center around the KTM station reflects
the image of Ipoh as historic town.
Loke: Perak to develop prime area near Ipoh railway station
A joint venture will be set up between the Perak government and the Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) to develop a land surrounding the Ipoh railway station, totalling 193.7 acres.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between RAC and Perak Mentri Besar Inc (MBI) on Friday, adding that its vision was to maximise the value of its railway assets.

Gua Tempurung is lime stone cave located 250km from kualalumpur.Take Gran wet tour only for adventure travelers.
To reach there by public transport in night stay near to KL sentral many budget n good hotels available just at walking distance from station . take fast ETS train from KL sentral early morning (2.5hrs) 36 MYR and reach to IPOH also book return Ticket in night if want to stay in KL. From ipoh railway station walk for around 1 km till bus stop and take bus for Gopeng 2.4 MYR ,from gopeng take taxi to Cave 20 MYR and better book same taxi for pickup as well. Cave Ticket u can purchase on the spot at entrance gate .50MYR that include helmet n guide shoes n flash light they provide on rent may b 10MYR. Must bring waterproof case to protect yr phone or camera. they have locker , shower , food felicity on reasonable price. you will b crawling sliding on rough surface submerge in water lil rock climbing inside cave so wear proper cloths to protect yrself and its cave so it will b hot n humid for sure. for adventure seekers must try kind of place. Have a nice experience in Gua Tempurung.
