Japan Travel: Amakashi Hill best to overlook historic Asuka region, Japan, Nara01
Amakashi Hill is located in the center of Asuka region which is one of the best places to get a nice view of the surrounding area. What to see from the hill includes the three Yamato mountains, which are most prominent and praised in the famous Manyoshu collection of poetry. From the hill's peak, Mount Unebi is seen to the west, just behind Kashihara Shrine, Mount Miminashi is to the north and Mount Amanokagu is to the east. From the 150 meter lookout point, many of Asuka's other attractions can also be recognized.
Not only its interesting view, but the hill also has an interesting history of its own. It is believed that Soga Emishi and his son Soga Iruka had their residence on the hill. The Soga clan were the dominant political power during most of the Asuka Period (528-710). Soga Iruka was assassinated in 645. It brought the clan's political domination to an end, and caused the Japanese political landscape to change dramatically. The former site of the imperial palace, where the assassination took place, is also seen from the hill. Now, it is covered by rice fields.
Access information
Amakashi Hill is located beside the Asuka Daibutsu-mae bus stop. It can be reached on the Kame Loop Bus from Kashiharajingu-mae Station (22 minutes, 250 yen, one bus per hour). Alternatively, the hill can also be reached by rental bicycle in about 15 minutes from Kashiharajingu-mae Station.

EPISODIO 68 de PERO ESO ES OTRA HISTORIA (web serie documental)
El periodo Asuka de Japón nace cuando los inmigrantes del continente (China y Corea) introducen el budismo y el confucionismo entre la clase alta japonesa, incluida la corte imperial. Fue el emperador Bidatsu quien se rodeó de un clan pro-budista, el de los Soga, mientras que los Mononobe y los Nakatomi eran más pro-sintoístas.
Los Soga alcanzaron gran poder, especialmente con el príncipe Shotoku Taishi, quien elaboró multitud de palacios y templos y también la primera constitución de Japón. Sin embargo, el poderío soga acabó con el Incidente Isshi del 645, donde los Nakatomi les eliminaron del lugar.
Es aquí, con el emperador Kotoku, cuando empieza una era de reformas conocida como la era Taika, basada en sistemas de leyes chinos conocido como ritshuryo. La época Asuka acabó cuando la emperatriz Genmei cambió la capital de Asuka a Nara, conocida como Heijo-kyo, en el 710 d.C.

Bukit Amakashi berlokasi di pusat daerah Asuka yang merupakan salah satu tempat terbaik untuk mendapatkan pemandangan yang indah dari sekitar area tersebut. Yang bisa dilihat dari bukit tersebut adalah ketiga Gunung Yamato, yang paling menonjol dan dipuji dari koleksi puisi terkenal Manyoshu. Dari puncak bukit, gunung Unebi terlihat di sebelah barat dan berada langsung dibelakang Kuil Kashihara, Gunung Miminashi ada di sebelah utara dan gunung Amanokagu berada di sebelah timur. 150 meter dari tempat memandang, masih banyak daya tarik Asuka yang lain yang juga bisa dikenali.
Tidak hanya pemandangan yang menarik saja, tapi bukit ini juga memiliki sejarahnya sendiri yang menarik. Tempat ini diyakini merupakan bukit tempat tinggal dari Soga Iruka dan Soga Emishi. Klan Soga merupakan kekuatan politik yang dominan selama sebagian besar dalam periode Asuka (528-710). Soga Iruka dibunuh pada tahun 645. Dan hal ini membawanya dominasi politik klan ini menuju pada kehancuran, dan menyebabkan susunan politik Jepang berubah secara drastic. Tempat awal dari istana kekaisaran, dimana merupakan tempat terjadi pembunuhan, juga terlihat dari bukit ini. Sekarang, tempat tersebut ditutupi oleh persawahan.
