Fishing at St George Island June 25 2017
My brother Mike and and his son Mike invited me out for some fishing in the Eagle's Nest out at St. George Island about 10 miles south of the Cut. We hooked up on the requisite pan fish and Michael hooked up on nice 33 + Cobia, red snapper, A tender fine tooth shark. We stopped at Little St. George to take in the serenity and memories.
The mainland including Eastpoint, Carrabelle and Apalachicola, FL was covered up in some wicked ominous storm clouds, but we felt nary a drop of rain or a saw a bolt of lightning. It was indeed a perfect day to remember.

St. George Lighthouse is one of the four prominent lighthouses along Florida's Forgotten Coast situated on St. George Island which is reached by traveling over a very long bridge (Route 300) and accessed just east of the Appalatchicola Bridge of Hwy 98. It has a fairly large museum and gift shop and costs a few bucks to climb to the top. Great view of the island from up there.

Slow day really (compared to just a week ago - sorry, no film of that due to technical difficulties). Conditions have been good in this spot recently. The drawback today, I feel: it was Memorial Day weekend and this place had been hit hard Friday and Saturday.
My charter guest was game to give it a go anyway.

Traveled to take a deep sea fishing trip in Jacksonville, Florida, but it got cancelled due to the weather. So, I asked around for some fishing spots. Recommendation was George Crady Fishing Bridge State Park on the Nassau Sound. I will be going back 1 more time for bigger fish. I got a Florida non-resident fishing license, that's how much I enjoyed myself.

Early summer Surf fishing Nassau sound FL
Well after 3 tries of wanting to get a surf fishing video, I finally got one! Had a pretty good day at Amelia island state park / Nassau sound on the beach. It was long boring hours followed by rod bending action. Fished the incoming tide using fresh shrimp for bait along with fish bites.

Afternoon surf fishing Nassau sound FL
Got off of work and headed straight to the beach to go surf fishing, some thing I haven't done in a very long time. Spent the afternoon at nassau sound until dark. I didn't catch what I was hoping to get and the action wasn't that hot but it was still a relaxing time.

Nick Deonas AI Footprints A true native of Amelia Island, born and raised. Nick's family were in the boat building business and shrimping industry, Nick grew up in the family business. In 1964 Nick joined the Army and assigned to the 2nd. Cav in Germany guarding the east German border. In 1967 Nick returned home to the family business and in July of that year he and Dale married. They have two children, Jamie and Kristy. In 1971 Nick had an opportunity to join the ranks of the Fire/Rescue Department, in 1996 he retired after twenty-five years of service. We camped at Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina -June 2014.
It is one of our favorite state parks where we can walk our dog on the beach. We stayed in one of the BEST campsites on the water.
Hunting Island State Park also has a beautiful Lighthouse!
This time the water was to close to our camper.

FLORIDA FISHING! HOW TO CATCH BULL Redfish & TARPON! Fishing Jacksonville Florida.
FLORIDA FISHING! Here is how to catch bull redfish and how to catch tarpon during the mullet run in Jacksonville Florida and a few surf fishing spots we used. Our initial plan was to fish the point of the FT. George inlet to target bullreds and puppy drum. Because of Hurricane Dorian all the parks schedules were messed up. So we turned to plan b which failed also. Plan C was Amelia Island state park. New ground for me and Nick. It started slow and after a round of trash fish we made a money move to a tidal pocket at the corner of Nassau sound. Good Move!!! We saw literally hundreds of tarpon jump landed 2 big bulls and I had the craziest drag run of my life.

I am fishing with sand fleas for Pompano. It was a struggle finding the sand fleas in the surf but they turned out to be efficient! I end up catching some pompano on the fleas and fishing bites. I do also go visit some viewers and do a little bit of fishing with them as well! We catch a few whiting together. Stay Bummy!!

Surf Fishing with Fishbites
Surf Fishing Beach Fishing Surf Fishing for Whiting for Redfish- Fish bites and whiting are the BEST all around bait, especially for Red drum ( redfish ) and Black drum. Whiting are big and plentiful during the winter and early spring months up and down the gulf coast and medium size in the summer. I have caught 2 personal best redfish on whiting. Whiting are NOT trash fish!! Possibly one of the best inshore fish to eat, but today I focused on catching the whiting for bait.
I made this video while getting skunked fishing for Bull Redfish. Gotta make the best out of a fishing trip, even if you get skunked!
The best bait to use for whiting in my opinion is definitely pink shrimp flavored fishbites. I like fishbites because of their durability and how inexpensive they are. Fishbites will save you tons of money!!! Why do you think they never sell it at the bait store lol??
