Fort Desoto Beach In St. Petersburg Florida
Fort Desoto Beach is a good alternative to beaches in the area like St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach. The St Petersburg Florida area has a lot of beaches, but not many tourists know about Fort Desoto Park or even realize that it is more than a state park and a historical fort. I do a full tour of the different beaches in Fort De Soto Park as well as the pier and the historical fort. Fort Desoto Beach even has a dog beach.
Cross Bay Ferry Tampa to St. Petersburg, Florida Pilot Program Ride
We rode the Cross Bay Ferry from Downtown Tampa to St. Petersburg FL one evening among other riders on their way to the Tampa Bay Rays game. This Ferry is in the pilot program phase and us locals would love for it to stay! The ride was fast, fun and there is a bar on board!
Best Ever SPC: Cross-Bay Ferry
Catching a Tampa Bay Lightning game at Amalie Arena? Or maybe you're looking for a getaway to St. Pete from Tampa... Either way, skip the traffic and opt for the scenic route with the Cross-Bay Ferry! Grab a beer, a seat with a view, and enjoy the ride!
Treasure Island Beach - Honeymoon Island Florida
We head out to the beach for our last romantic vacation before baby Benjamin Ricker. We stay at one of the cheaper motels along the beach. We take Brody out to the dog beach at Honeymoon Island he digs and plays in the sand. The Dunedin Causeway is a really cool spot to park you car and float a kayak or sailboard. There are beach rentals available and a cafe restaurant right on the water.

Exploring Egmont Key State Park
Egmont Key, accessible by boat only, is a natural island escape with significant history as it was was a Union Navy base during the Civil War. On top of that, it's one of the most isolated and beautiful beaches in the area.
Located at the mouth of Tampa Bay, southwest of Fort De Soto Park, this 440-acre island is the home to one of the last government-operated lighthouses in the U.S. Built in 1858 and still serves as an active navigational aide to all ships entering Tampa Bay

Hello everyone! I went camping to Shell Key island in St. Pete, FL. I saw dolphins, helped rescue an injured bird, capture great drone footage and more. It was a nice experience to stay the night there and I'll do it again. I will say that it is a lot easier to get to this island than Anclote Key.
Shell Key Manatee
Manatees wander very closely past our snorkelers on Shell Key on a regular basis. Used GoPro Hero 4 Silver to get the underwater video.
Boating to Egmont Key state park and then on to Sarasota on our Boston Whaler
We took our boat out from our slip at Marinemax St Petersburg and made a quick stop at Egmont Key Island and state park. Although it's only a few miles out of the Tampa Bay, this island seems as if you're in the Caribbean. We hung out for a little while and then proceeded to Sarasota where we spent the night. WE docked our boat at the marina and came back the next day.
We are a family that loves boating! We love to drive around the state of Florida and we trailer our boat. We have a 23 foot Boston Whaler Vantage that we absolutely love.
