Pictures drawn by Atomic Bomb Survivors -Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1
One day in May,1974, Mr. Iwakichi Kobayashi, a seventy-seven year old man brought a single picture of bombing to the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) Hiroshima Studio. The airing of this picture in June 1974 resulted in tremendous viewer response. A total of 975 pictures were submitted to the NHK in two months and exhibited at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum during August 1-6,1974, approximatery 20,000 people saw the pictures.
Publisher Nippon Hoso Shuppan Kyokai (日本放送出版協会 ) edited and published 104 pictures in Japanese as 劫火を見た in 1977. Simultaneously the work was also translated into English by the World Friendship Center in Hiroshima, and published as Unforgetable Fire by Pantheon Books, a division of Random Housde, Inc., New York in 1977.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum with support of NHK Hiroshima Station, the Chugoku Simbun (Newspaper), and another organization started an atomic bomb drawing campaign again 25 years later. They collected 1,338 drawing by 484 persons in Hiroshima from April 1 to July 31, 2002. These pictures were exhibited at the Hisoshima Peace Memorial Museum as a special exhibition and published on their website (pcf.hiroshima.jp) as the following:

[JAPAN] Tribute to Motoya Izumi - a Kyogen master
This video introduces u to Mr. Motoya Izumi, one of the famous Kyogen artists. Motoya's family is a long line of Kyogen masters and Motoya is the 20th generation of that. The family originally came from Gifu-prefecture in a central part of Japan.
Motohide Izumi, a father of Motoya, was the 19th-generation head of the Izumi family's school of Kyogen; Motohide passed away in 1995, leaving a young son, Motoya, to carry on the torch. Shortly before his death, a naming ceremony was held, in which Motoya formally succeeded his father as head of the school. However, this succession was not sanctioned by the Nōgaku sōke kai (Association of Heads of Schools of Noh/Nohgaku), most of the members of which expressed that Motoya was too young, and not expert enough, to hold such a title.
Motoya’s career as a Kyogen artist, however, started when he was only a year and half old. His father saw something very special in his son and began teaching Kyogen… much earlier time than average children. At age three, as his father expected, Motoya has learned his part quite well and started to perform on stage. By age nine, he was already performing a rather challenging role for even an adult. Motoya was a prodigy.
Japan is the most ancient culture existing in the world and that is still going strong. The tradition is taken very seriously and monitored by old folks/masters. Whether a prodigy or not, one is expected to grow old to become a head of anything, let along a Kyogen school, one of Japan’s ancient artworks.
Motoya and his mother insisted upon Motoya's possession of the title as a head, and this dispute continued until 2002 when the Nōgaku sōke kai and Nōgaku kyōkai (Noh Association) moved to have his entire family and school removed from those officially recognized by the Noh establishment. This unfortunate situation is continuing in 2017. Meanwhile, Motoya and his family continued to claim the title, and the Noh establishment continued to refuse to recognize or support his work.
Nevertheless, Motoya continues with his Kyogen works, teaching the next generation of children. Meanwhile, he had to earn his living by working as an actor in numbers of NHK TV historical dramas and by being a host to the 2002 Winter Olympics in Japan, etc. Best wishes to him and his family and don’t ever give up…!!
Enjoy the video and many thanks indeed for watching…; give a big thumbs up please. My videos are sort of related to each other, so enjoy others as well. Cheers to u all… ; D

Haunted Hiroshima; From disaster to the rebirth of a true treasure.
For a very long time now, I wanted to do a video on Hiroshima; both because of my interest in the hauntings that are reported from here as well as my love of this city in general. Here is my attempt to combine the two. As stated in the video, what is most important is the call to arms to my fellow performance artists revealed at the end. Please give it as chance. This may be what you are looking for and as always, feel free to contact me for any more information. If I can help, I will.
P.S.
The jizo statue shown after the three minuet mark is a survivor of the blast found near the Atomic Bomb Dome. The underside of the statue is darkened by the intensity of the heat and light of the explosion. It was kept exactly where it originally was and buildings were built up around it (it appears to be at the entrance or a garage) as a show of respect to its spirit of perseverance.

Here is a shorter version of the original slideshow that I think has a more watchable length, having only the best photos and being as long as the piece of Koto music that helped make the original my most popular slideshow so far.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
