Completed in 1999, the JR Central Towers rise elegantly above Nagoya Station. The building consists of the 245 meter tall Office Tower and the slightly shorter and slimmer Hotel Tower. The nearby Midland Square surpassed the JR Central Towers built in 2007 as Nagoya's tallest building.
The building's lower floors are shared by the two towers and occupied by a Takashimaya department store, the Tower Plaza shopping mall and JR Nagoya Station. As their names imply, the Hotel Tower houses a Marriott hotel, and the Office Tower offers 30 floors of rental office space.
The former observation deck on the top floor of the Office Tower has been converted into the Panorama Salon, featuring a wine lounge, cafe, health spa and beauty salon offering panoramic views over the city. Likewise, the Hotel Tower offers nice views from a lounge and restaurant on its top floor.

Rセントラルタワーズ（ジェイアール セントラルタワーズ、英称:JR Central Towers）は、愛知県名古屋市中村区の名古屋駅に併設されている複合施設（駅ビル）である。竣工時は中部地方で最も高い建造物であったが、現在はミッドランドスクエアにその座を譲っている。郵便番号は、〒450-60xxがビル専用に設定されている(xxは階数、90の場合は地下、90を除く53より多い数字は入居する特定企業専用の番号となる)。
地上18階建ての低層部と、地上53階と51階の2つのタワーから成り、両タワーとも高さは200mを超える超高層ビルである。晴れた日には岐阜県や三重県からでもその姿を見ることができ、名古屋のランドマークとして人気スポットになっている。
駅ビルとしては世界最高の245mの高さを誇り、「世界一背の高い駅ビル」としてギネス・ワールド・レコーズに登録されている[1]。また、単一の建物として日本一延べ床面積が広いビルでもある（駅ビルとしては世界最大で41万6565m²）。
かつては期間限定ではあるものの、名古屋の民放ラジオ局が共同運営するサテライトスタジオがあった。
2010年6月23日には、NHK名古屋放送局とテレビ愛知が、瀬戸デジタルタワーから送信されている地上デジタルテレビ放送の難視聴を解消することを目的として、それぞれ名駅中継局を開局した。
