JR Beetle Jetfoil Trip Report - Busan to Fukuoka - Boeing 929 [4K]
Join us on our exciting trip from Busan (South Korea) to Fukuoka (Japan), travelling on the Beetle Jetfoil Ferry.
It is a relatively inexpensive and charming way to make the journey. They crew were excellent and it was a comfortable ride. I certainly recommend you try it and would easily choose this over flying if I regularly travelled on the route. 8/10.
As I don't speak Japanese I booked using A-Ferry, who I could't fault. I'm not being paid anything by them to say that.
For those of you interested in your boats, it is a Boeing 929-117, Built under license by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. in Kobe, Japan.

Taken aboard the JR Beetle from Fukuoka to Busan. This video is just leaving the Fukuoka harbour.
FUKUOKA TO BUSAN | Taking the Ferry from Japan to Korea
My friend wanted to take the ferry from Fukuoka to Busan for her birthday, and we found tickets that were affordable-- only $98 round trip! (You can check prices and availability on their Japanese website: The cheapest tickets I could find were their current discount sale (From October 2016-March 2017). Travel in a group of 4 or more and your tickets are only 5900en round trip each ($60!)
Then we secured a cheap and spacious Airbnb for two in the downtown district of Seomyeon. (Get $30 off your first reservation when you use my referral code--I never stay at hotels anymore, Airbnb are way more comfortable! )

Hakata Port International Terminal (博多港国際 多－三ナル） is located in Fukuoka City in south west of Japan (Kyushu Region). This International Terminal is well known for it's ferry service to Busan (also pronounced as Pusan) in South Korea. 1991年 川崎重工神戸建造。博多～釜山航路に就航中。
博多港には3社6隻のジェットフォイルが入港しますが各社、各船ごとに微妙に細部が異なるので見ごたえがあります。
この映像に写っているのは「ビートル2世」と「ビートル3世」ですが側窓の配置、アンテナ類の設置位置が違ったり「2世」の後部デッキには大きな窓があるなどの相違がありJF好きの私にとっては興味が尽きないのでした。

An Overnight Ferry from Osaka to Kyushu Island
It is an overnight journey from Osaka to Kyushu Island, the third largest island of Japan and most southwesterly of its four main islands where this Oku Japan trip would spend the most time. There are different price categories aboard the ferry that range with seat only to double stateroom with bathtub.
We had a double stateroom with bunk beds and sink. My heart sunk when I saw the bunks because you know who was going to have to sleep up there; that's right, me. There's no way on this side of hell that Marine Steve would be able to get his heft up there. Sigh...
Bathrooms were down the hall, the ferry has a cafeteria, pachinko and what else does a passenger need?

If you're looking for a cheap way to get from South Korea to Japan - Camellia Line is probably the cheapest option in the market today.
Roy noticed that it's hard to find information in English regarding the Camellia Line so he decided to book it to see for himself what's Camellia is all about.
So!
The ticket costs 4500 Yen ( 41$ ) + 10,000 Won ( 9$ )
Total of 50$ ( give or take )
Pretty cheap right?!
And also
But you gotta be prepared -
1. It's not as it's shown in pictures over the web... It's not as neat and well maintained...
2. Second class shared rooms has mattresses instead of beds, and each mattress has a cubicle-like partition for privacy.
