Jacked Up on Jackrabbit Trail - Ultra HD 4k Mountain Biking
The Boys and I getting Jacked Up on our 8 mile bike ride through Jackrabbit Trail, in Hiawassee GA.
Had fun, and was super impressed with the boys! They kept up amazingly well, mega props to Byron for sticking it out for the full 8 miles... considering that he's only 9 years old!
JackRabbit Mountain Biking
A great trip to Jackrabbit Mountain for some mountain biking. This place is the best for fast flowing trails. You can get all the burn you need depending how fast you want to ride! My buddy Ric and I had two great days of riding there in the spring when the weather was wonderful!

Welcome to Lake Chatuge and the Mountains!
Lake Chatuge Real Estate - Hayesville Realty
Hello. My name is Ed Reams, and I'm the Owner/
Broker of Advantage Chatuge Realty here in
Hayesville, North Carolina. My staff and I would
like to welcome you to the beautiful mountain/
lakes region of western North Carolina and
northeast Georgia.
The crown jewel of our area is Lake Chatuge,
which you see behind me. It was named for an
century Cherokee village, which was once
18th
situated near this site. It's a very large lake, with
132 miles of shoreline -- and it covers more than
7,000 acres. Half the lake is located here in Clay
County, North Carolina, and the other half is
located just across the state line in Towns County,
Georgia.
Chatuge is a man-made lake, and was built in 1942
by the TVA... the Tennessee Valley Authority.
When the lake is at full pool during Spring and
Summer, its elevation is approximately 1,928 feet
above sea level.
As the off-season approaches, the TVA releases
a small amount of water and the lake level drops
a bit -- but is then brought back up to full pool the
following Spring.
There are several U.S. Wildlife Areas situated on
the lake, all of which are available for public use.
These Wildlife Areas have miles of hiking and
biking trails, boat launches, grills, picnic tables and
beaches.
Lake Chatuge is ideal for boating, swimming,
water skiing and fishing, and is conveniently
located within two hours' driving time of Atlanta,
Chattanooga and Asheville.
If you enjoy spending part of your outdoor time on
the links, you'll be pleased to learn that there are
three golf courses located within a 10 minute drive
of Lake Chatuge.
All of the courses are open to the public, and
they're all beautiful. Personally, I'm not much of
a golfer, but I have friends who are -- and many of
them insist that our local courses here are among
the most beautiful they've ever played.
Hayesville is the county seat of Clay County,
which was named for Henry Clay, the 18th
century Congressman, Senator and Secretary
of State under John Quincy Adams. Half the
county consists of pristine lands managed by the
U.S. Forest Service. These include a number of
National Wildlife Recreational Areas.
These are great spots to get together with family
and friends. There are hiking trails galore, picnic
tables and grills, and camping sites.
Some even offer miles of horseback riding trails...
creek-fed swimming holes, and large, natural
waterfalls.
If outdoor activities aren't your cup of tea, there
are plenty of indoor activities available to you.
For example, the John C. Campbell Folk School is
an internationally renowned institution where you
can take courses on everything from photography
to dancing to painting to blacksmithing.
Or, you can attend a presentation by one of our
local theater ensembles, dance troupes, or musical
groups.
Or, you can dine at one of our local restaurants
which -- personal opinion -- rival anything which
was available to us in metro Atlanta when we lived
there.
The quality of life here in the mountain/lakes
region is wonderful, and the lake is an ever-
changing palette of colors.
The daytime hours are filled with intense blues and
greens.
As we approach evening, the reds, oranges and
magenta's appear.
And sometimes in the early morning, the lake
sleeps beneath a layer of clouds.
Throw in a full moon for good measure, and
there's nothing quite like it.
I hope you've enjoyed this brief overview. If you
are considering purchasing property here, either
as a vacation home, a primary residence, or as an
investment, I hope you'll call me or one of our
agents; it would be our privilege to assist you in
your property search.
Thanks for joining us today.

Carolina Hemlocks Campground
Quick video with my droid to show Carolina Hemlocks Campground and Recreation Area located on Hwy 80 South in Yancey County, NC. Home of Mt. Mitchell the highest peak on the east coast. Many sites to choose from and prices are cheap at $17 per site a night.. 2 tent limit on each site. The South Toe River flows right past here and they have a swimming area that is very deep as well as many white water areas for tubing.. etc.. There are also hiking trails that start from the campground and there is access to another trail that leads to the top of the Black Mountain Crest.. There is a small mom and pop store within walking distance of the campground. I highly recommend camping or just picnicking here. Make sure to purchase a yearly pass for $15 that will allow you to use the facilities at your pleasure anytime you want. I do this every year.. it supports the campground and allows me to come and park near the river.. swim.. fish.. or just walk around the campground.. come join us at Carolina Hemlocks..

High Shoals Falls, NC | Hiking Waterfall Loop Trail | Campsites | Mountain Biking
Time for a hike? It's a must to hike and see the waterfalls. South Mountains State Park is North Carolina's largest state park.
Drive slowly when you come in the park! You may see the deer passing by. We enjoyed that part.
Now ... we heard this was an EASY hike. Um, maybe for a good experienced hiker, but not for the once in awhile hiker. I have to say I normally don't do hikes, yes - too easy to be lazy, but I have been doing a few hikes with my Mom and this was a good one. This hike starts out flat and easy, but then moves to rugged and lots of steps. So, if you enjoy that - here you go!
We saw all types of hikers and all ages. Dogs were allowed, just make sure they enjoy people ???? It can be busy. And... kids want to say hi to the pets.
The YMCA brought kids up for the hike, so it can be done by all ages. You decide.
Lots of great educational stops to learn about the area. Also, great stopping areas.
Hope you enjoy the hike as much as I did. The signs make it sound like a short hike, but do remember your water, you will need it.
High Shoals Falls, NC - Geology
The waterfall is on the Jacob's Fork River, flowing over a large rock outcropping in the South Mountains of North Carolina. The river continues over a series of cascades for approximately 1/4 mile past the falls, where the stream loses approximately 300 ft (100 m) in elevation.
Visiting the falls
The falls is located at South Mountains State Park in North Carolina. There are many trails through the state park, and the most popular is the High Shoals Falls Loop Trail. Visitors are encouraged to stay on the trail. Absolutely no swimming is permitted near the falls, as deaths and injuries have occurred through the years, primarily to people who swim at the top of the falls.

Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia, in Alleghany and Grayson counties, New River Campground Canoeing and Kayaking is the place to go for your vacation on the historic waters of the New River.
A warm, sunny July 4 finds many families kayaking and tubing on the New River in the NC Mountains
Lots of kayakers and tubers are drifting down Western North Carolina's New River on a warm, sunny July 4. This part of the river is in Ashe County, NC near West Jefferson. Alongside the river is the Riverside Grade Road, a popular spot for bicycle enthusiasts because of its long, nearly level route. For more info see
Tsali Last 5 minutes of Thompson Trail
One of the fun little downhill's on the Thompson Trail at Tsali. This clip is the last downhill taking you down to the end of the trail near the Tsali Rec Camp Site. Spent 3 days there riding all the trails. Of all I'd say that Left Loop is the one you want to ride if pushed for time, but make sure you check the schedules. Trail days for mountain Biking alternate between, biking, Horse riding and Hiking...
