Ep. 508 Bowling Green's Caves, Cars, and Cold Brews - Tennessee Valley Uncharted
Erick learns how Bowling Green, Kentucky stands the test of time and offers adventure in all different forms! He kicks off this trip by stopping into Brew Holler Blue Supplies, where not only do they put their own spin on craft beers, but they provide the community with the tools they need to brew at home. The owner of the brewery joins Erick for dinner at Novo Dolce, a gastropub that works with other local entrepreneurs to serve unique and delicious cuisine. Erick then ventures out to Lost River Cave, and he learns during his underground boat tour that though the caves have been scarred by pollution, the right amount of care can lead to healing. Then he gets to zipline through the surrounding woods! Afterward, accompanied by his Lost River tour guide, Erick stops into Lost River Pizza to refuel after an exciting day. His next stop is Kentucky Lake, where he learns why fishing for Asian Carp is important for the ecosystem to thrive, and how management teams help keep the invasive species at bay. Last but certainly not least, Erick takes a look around the National Corvette Museum to learn about these iconic cars, and he even gets to zip around the track in one at the NCM Motorsports Park.

More information about the video content bellow:
1. Before Kentucky was a state, it was a county. In 1776, Virginia established Kentucky County as its westernmost territory. Residents didn’t feel adequately served by the far-off capital of Richmond, however, and a separatist movement took hold. After several petitions for statehood, Kentuckians finally received their blessing from Virginia. In 1792, Kentucky became the nation’s 15th state.
2. The longest known cave system in the world, Mammoth Cave, is located in southern Kentucky. Spelunkers have explored nearly 400 miles of underground caverns to date, with untold more miles still awaiting discovery. Early guide Stephen Bishop called it a “grand, gloomy and peculiar place.”
3. In 1930, Harland Sanders opened a service station in the town of Corbin and began serving up his original recipe fried chicken. Several years and scores of satisfied customers later, he opened a restaurant across the street, and the rest, well, is history. The Harland Sanders Café and Museum, as it's known today, is a shrine to Kentucky’s most famous chef.
4. The state’s most famous frontiersman, Daniel Boone, is a tall tale come to life. After blazing a trail through Cumberland Gap and establishing Fort Boonesborough in 1775, Boone was captured by Shawnee Indians and whisked away to their home base of Chillicothe, in modern-day Ohio. Boone gained his captors' confidence and even became a member of the tribe, only to escape after six months, riding a stolen horse 160 miles back to Fort Boonesborough. He made the journey in five days—just in time to lead the fort’s successful defense from another attack.
5. Thomas Edison worked for two years as a telegraph operator in Louisville’s Western Union office. He would have stayed longer, but in 1867 he was fired after accidentally spilling sulfuric acid all over his boss’s new furniture (performing one of his side experiments, naturally). Sixteen years later, he returned to the city’s Southern Exposition to showcase 4600 of his incandescent bulbs.
6. Bowling Green, located in western Kentucky, is home to the world’s only Corvette assembly plant. The one-million-square-foot compound was built in 1981, after GM decided to move the facility from St. Louis. Bowling Green is also home to the National Corvette Museum, where in 2014 a sinkhole opened up and swallowed nine cars.
7. The “Happy Birthday” song originated in Louisville in the late 19th century. Patty Hill, a teacher at the Louisville Experimental Kindergarten School, collaborated with her sister Mildred, a piano instructor, on a song called “Good Morning to All” that became a greeting teachers would sing to students. It’s unclear how, exactly, the tune morphed into “Happy Birthday to You,” but today it’s the most recognizable song in the English language.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Millers Leisure Centre Amusements (Chapel St. Leonards, UK)
Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol

aka Jackson's Cafe
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

Performance, The Beech Bend Superstar Competition in Kentucky USA
Colin traveled to Nashville Tennessee first by Air Canada and had a full day in that beautiful city and then drove to Bowling Green Kentucky to compete with 9 other talented soloists on stage in the Beech Bend Park Superstar vocal contest. He was told by the 2 professional Judges who were Producers and Studio/Radio show Owners, that he had a beautiful clear and pure voice. There was a tie between him and the eventual winner of that weeks competition, so he came in second. Colin made one mistake by choosing to stand in front of the microphone instead of holding it and moving around the stage, and thereby having more and better stage presence. He said he did that to avoid being booed by the audience members! In fact, what really happened is that so many people came up to him, including the Mother of that weeks winner, and told him he was Awesome! It was a great experience for Colin! After the competition ended he was able to have fun in the Splash Lagoon at the park. The next day he had a great visit to The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville along with a one on one private tour of RCA's Studio B ! The weather was hot and sunny for the 3 days he spent there and no Hurricane Irene!
