Handcuffed Man Shot, Killed Himself In Cop Car?
A 21-year-old man was shot in the head and killed while handcuffed in the back of a patrol car Saturday night. Now police have launched an investigation to determine what happened. Chavis Carter was a passenger in a pickup truck that was stopped by police in Jonesboro, Ark., Saturday night, according to KAIT, an ABC-affiliated television station. An officer reportedly found some marijuana, and ran Carter's information. He was wanted on a warrant out of Mississippi, so officers placed him in a patrol car...Just minutes later, police said they heard a thumping noise, turned around and found Carter shot in the head....* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur discuss on The Young Turks.

USA: MEMPHIS: 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF LUTHER KING DEATH MARKED UPDATE

Friends and followers of Martin Luther King Jr. marked the 30th anniversary of his death on Saturday by finishing a march for justice he never lived to complete.
Four-thousand people marched through Memphis, Tennessee, where the civil rights leader was assassinated on April 4, 1968, while helping organise a strike by city workers.
A protest march, with King in the lead, had been planned four days later - Saturday's marchers followed much the same route the original demonstration was to take.
The march began at the same downtown temple where marches began in 1968 - the year of King's assassination.
It continued down Beale Street and ended at the city's convention centre.
At times the crowd stretched half a dozen blocks and many sang We Shall Overcome and Ain't Nobody Gonna Turn Us Around.
Some marchers carried replicas of the famous I Am A Man sign favoured by strikers in 1968.
The march symbolically completed a march Martin Luther King Jr. never lived to make.
He led a demonstration on behalf of striking sanitation workers on March 28, 1968.
It was broken up by police after rowdy protesters began breaking windows.
The National Guard was called in the following day and the city was put under a curfew.
King left town vowing to return to stage another march, this one peaceful.
He did return six days later - but was felled by a single rifle slug on the balcony of The
Lorraine Motel.
Among the many speakers at the convention centre was Reverend Jesse Jackson, who has campaigned for civil rights for decades.

For despite the verbal imagery of that most famous of his speeches - Dr King was no idle dreamer. He was first and foremost a man of action - a man of prodigious energy - a man who marched and sweated and went to jail and organised and demanded the best and forced each and every American to examine his or her conscience.

The Reverend asked those present to consider what King would be doing today if he were still alive.
He said King would still be fighting for justice and equality - but today he would be working for economic equality, decent jobs and health care access for all.

He would march because he would also rejoice that 30 years later our nation has travelled the path from Selma to Soweto - from slaveship to partnership.

Many of the marchers paid tribute to the slain leader at the Lorraine Motel, the site of King's assassination and now of the National Civil Rights Museum.
King was shot outside of room 306 while preparing to go to dinner with Jackson and other associates.
James Earl Ray, a prison escapee from Missouri, pleaded guilty to killing King and is serving a 99-year sentence at a Nashville prison.

Cop-killing suspect has chilling courtroom outburst

La Plata, MO, in Northern Missouri, is located on BNSF Railway's Marceline Subdivision at milepost 312.7, part of their Southern Transcon, the former Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF) mainline between Chicago and Los Angeles.
Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passenger train stops here twice a day; the eastbound train #4 in the morning and the westbound train #3 in the evening.
The typical BNSF freight train volume is between 50 and 70 trains per 24 hours. There are 2 cameras available.
There is an ATCS layout available, as well as a radio feed for the western part of the BNSF Marceline Sub, listening to AAR road channel 30, 160.560 (also includes Norfolk Southern's Kansas City District, on road channel 22, 160.440):
