Rajasthan Jaipur monuments and tourist places stock footage - Albert Hall
This museum is supposed to be the oldest museum of the state. Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob designed it in 1876 to greet King Edward VII as Prince of Wales on his visit to India. It was opened to public ten years later. Positioned amidst the gardens of Ram Niwas Bagh in Jaipur, this museum has an assortment of rare articles on its display including textiles, carpets, paintings, metal and wood crafts, pottery, arms and weapons, flora and fauna of the state, toys, dolls and even an Egyptian mummy that belongs to the Ptolemaic Epoch. It is also known for housing the famous carpet, which portrays the scene of a Persian garden carpet with running water streams that was bought at a dear price from Shah Abbas of Persia, by Mirza Raja Jai Singh I. It also puts on show the miniature paintings of a number of sub-schools of Rajasthan. Get Latest Bollywood Updates

City Palace | A Palace in Pink City JAIPUR
In this video, you can understand everything about the City Palace of the Pink City, Jaipur.
City Palace, Jaipur, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings, is a palace complex in Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan state, India. It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum, but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence. The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. The credit for the urban layout of the city and its structures is attributed to two architects namely, Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, apart from the Sawai himself who was a keen architectural enthusiast.
Mubarak Mahal
Mubarak Mahal, meaning the 'Auspicious Palace', was built with a fusion of the Islamic, Rajput and European architectural styles in the late 19th century by Maharaja Madho Singh II as a reception center. It is a museum; a fine repository of a variety of textiles such as the royal formal costumes, sanganeri block prints, embroidered shawls, Kashmiri pashminas, and silk saris as part of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. A noteworthy display here is of the set of voluminous clothes worn by Sawai Madhosingh I, who was 1.2 meters (3.9 ft) wide and weighed 250 kilograms (550 lb) but interestingly had 108 wives.
Chandra Mahal
Chandra Mahal or Chandra Niwas is the most commanding building in the City Palace complex, on its west end. It is a seven-storeyed building and each floor has been given a specific name such as the Sukh-Niwas, Ranga-Mandir, Pitam-Niwas, Chabi-Niwas, Shri-Niwas, and Mukut-Mandir or Mukut Mahal. It contains many unique paintings, mirror work on walls and floral decorations. At present, most of this palace is the residence of the descendants of the former rulers of Jaipur. Only the ground floor is allowed for visitors where a museum is located that displays carpets, manuscripts and other items that belonged to the royal family. There is a beautiful peacock gate at the entry to the Mahal. It has screened balconies and a pavilion at the roof from where a panoramic view of the city can be seen.
Diwan-i-Aam
Diwan-i-Aam, the Hall of Public Audience, is a marble-floored chamber located between the armory and the art gallery. There are two huge sterling silver vessels of 1.6 meters (5.2 ft) height and each with a capacity of 4000 liters and weighing 340 kilograms (750 lb), on display here. They were made from 14,000 melted silver coins without soldering. They hold the Guinness World Record as the world's largest sterling silver vessels These vessels were specially made by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II, who was a highly pious Hindu, to carry the water of the Ganges to drink on his trip to England in 1901 (for Edward VII's coronation) as he was finicky about committing religious sin by consuming the English water. Hence, the vessels are named as Gangajelies (Ganges-water urns). There are a number of crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling (normally covered with plastic sheets to prevent dust collection), which are uncovered on special occasions.

Royal Durbar Hall inside Jai Vilas Palace Museum, Gwalior
Once you enter the Royal Durbar Hall inside the Jai Vilas Palace Museum in Gwalior one can see Red Belgian chandelier at the entrance which weighs 1000 kgs and has 100 bulbs. There is also two huge Belgian chandeliers each of which is 3500 kgs 250 bulbs. These were purchased in Paris and assembled here. It is said that ten elephants stood on the roof of the Durbar Hall to check if the ceiling could take the load. You see one the two chandeliers. The ceiling and walls are very well designed with some intricate work with its Ceilings made out of 560kgs of melted gold. Also displayed are Persian carpets, cutglass and crystal ornaments, Chinese, Japanese and European art and bric-a-brac, Malabar and Madurai woodwork, a mechanical silver train which was used as drinks trolley and the gold painted Durbar Hall.
The Jai Vilas Mahal or The Jai Vilas Palace is one of India's most grandiose nineteenth-century palaces was built in 1875 by H. H. Maharaja Jayaji Rao Scindia (Shinde), the Maharaja of Gwalior and to this day remains the residence of the former royal Maratha family -- The Scindias (Shindes). Apart from being the residential palace of the royal family of Scindia, a part of the palace has been converted to a museum for the public. One can catch a glimpse of the royal living in the museum. In 1875, Maharaja Jayaji Rao Scindia dispatched his friend Colonel Michael Filose on a grand tour of Europe to seek inspiration. Filose returned with a vast shipment of furniture, fabric, paintings, tapestries and cut glass, together with the blueprints for a building that borrowed heavily from Buckingham Palace, Versailles, and Greek ruins and Italian-Baroque stately homes. The result is a blend of Doric, Tuscan and Corinthian architecture
One can witness the eye catching treasures in the museum which includes a silver toy train used by His Highness Jayaji Rao Scindia to dispense brandy and cigars after dinner, a glass cradle from Italy used for the baby Krishna on each Janmashtami, silver dinner services and swords that were once worn by Emperors Aurangzeb and Shah Jahan. The museum offers an unparalleled glimpse into the rich culture and lifestyle of princely India and royalty of the powerful Maratha Dynasty. Jai Vilas Palace is open on six days of week from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM. It is closed on Wednesday. It is open on Diwali Festival day but closed on Bhai Dooj i.e. two days after Diwali. For Indians the cost of ticket is Rs 60 and a child is charged full.
