USAT LIBERTY SHIPWRECK IN TULAMBEN BALI
The Tulamben USAT Liberty Shipwreck is some of best scuba diving in Bali Indonesia. It's quite famous actually, the diving here is very unique. In very few places on this planet is there a wreck this big, or this close to the shore. The wreck acts as a pseudo coral reef, and attracts animals big and small to hide in it's crevices. The beautiful thing about the USAT Liberty wreck is that you can snorkel or free dive it. The bow is only a couple meters from the surface, and you can just walk in from the shore. Normally dive sites like this are far beneath the surface, way too deep for anything but scuba equipment.
It's a beautiful place, and totally worth checking out.
I did a special birthday trip after a great few weeks on the #tripofwonders with Travel Indonesia. Enjoy!

USAT Liberty Wreck | Freediving, Tulamben Bali | GoPro 48fps
Freediving Bali, USAT Libery Wreck in Tulamben. (USS Liberty)
USAT Liberty is convenient wreck dive, just meters away from the shore. The wreck starts at about 10m, with most over the wreckage between 10m-20m, and the deepest at 30m.
The wreck is sometimes incorrectly refereed to as USS Liberty, however this is not a navy vessel, but a US Army transport, hence the name is USAT Liberty.

Freediving the USAT Liberty Wreck | Bali
Freediving the USAT Liberty wreck in Bali, Indonesia. The wreck is one of the most easily accessible in the world, situated meters off the eastern coast of Bali in 30m of water. Some parts of the wreck are as shallow as 5m.
The wreck is a popular dive site with scuba divers, freedivers and snorkelers.
On 11th January 1942, the Liberty was torpedoed by a Japanese Submarine while passing through the Lombok Strait. The wreck was taken under tow by an American ship, however it was taking in too much water and was purposely beached a Tulamben to save the supplies. In 1963, tremors from the volcano Mt Agung caused the ship to slip down into the water where it sits today.

???? Snorkeling in Japanese Shipwreck (Spot 3)
If you LIKE this video, don't forget to LIKE & COMMENT + SUBSCRIBE ????
I’ve been snorkeling/diving in many places in Bali and Amed is my favorite. Mostly because I can simply swim from the beach to see colorful fishes. Plus, the current is not strong.
I went to 5 snorkeling spots whilst in Amed. I made a video for each spot and this is the third one.
This site entry (me) is from the boat. At 7am in the morning, the shipwreck is about 5m down below. Current is mild but my boatman said it can get stronger the later you come
Enjoy!
