Sixth Avenue – officially Avenue of the Americas, although this name is seldom used by New Yorkers – is a major thoroughfare in New York City's borough of Manhattan, on which traffic runs northbound, or uptown. It is commercial for much of its length.
Notable buildings and events
Sights along Sixth Avenue include Juan Pablo Duarte Square;[22] with the polychrome High Victorian Gothic Jefferson Market Courthouse, currently occupied by the Jefferson Market Library;[23] the surviving stretch of grand department stores of 1880 to 1900 in the Ladies' Mile Historic District that runs from 18th Street to 23rd Street;[24] the former wholesale flower district; Herald Square at 34th Street,[25] site of Macy's department store;[26] Bryant Park from 40th to 42nd Streets;[27] and the corporate stretch above 42nd Street, which includes the Bank of America Tower, W. R. Grace Building, International Center of Photography, Rockefeller Center — including the Time-Life Building, News Corp. Building, Exxon Building and McGraw-Hill Building, as well as Radio City Music Hall. The Steinway Hall of New York was moved to 1130 Sixth Avenue in October 2014.[28] A new Steinway Hall is planned to open on 1155 Sixth Avenue in 2015.[29]
Sixth Avenue is the site of the annual Village Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village[30] and the Dominican Day Parade in Midtown.

La Plata, MO, in Northern Missouri, is located on BNSF Railway's Marceline Subdivision at milepost 312.7, part of their Southern Transcon, the former Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF) mainline between Chicago and Los Angeles.
Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passenger train stops here twice a day; the eastbound train #4 in the morning and the westbound train #3 in the evening.
The typical BNSF freight train volume is between 50 and 70 trains per 24 hours. There are 2 cameras available.

High Speed Elevators at an Apartment Building in NYC

This is a super awesome, high rise apartment building in Manhattan. The lower floors are a hotel, the upper floors are apartments. I discovered a secret staircase I explored with threats of alarms sounding (but I did it anyways of course and to nobody's surprise, no alarms), connecting the buildings together and there I was up in the sky-lobby.
Floors 1, 25-52 (including 2 penthouse levels), and one REALLY nice view of 1 WTC from the top floor.

Swann Galleries Auction Preview- Americana Part 1
Specialist Rick Stattler Discusses Highlights of the June 5 Auction of Printed & Manuscript Americana. The centerpiece of this large sale is an 1823 facsimile of the Declaration of Independence on paper engraved by William James Stone. Two hundred official copies were issued on vellum, and a small number of additional copies on paper. This is the third example on paper to come to auction.
Notable items pertaining to religion include the celebrated Aitken Bible, two volumes in one, Philadelphia, 1782 and 1781. This was the first printing of the complete Bible in English in America, and fewer than 100 copies are estimated to have survived. Also known as The Bible of the Revolution, it is the only Bible ever to be authorized by Congress.
Among desirable books of political import are Thomas Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia, first edition in English, London, 1787, containing the map, hand-colored in outline.
The auction contains a number of legal documents relating to well-known figures. Of local New York City interest is Ann Pritchard Proceedings in Partition, a 1742 document dividing 400 acres of the Stuyvesant family's Manhattan estates between the two surviving grandchildren of Peter Stuyvesant, the last Dutch ruler of New York, and awarding his granddaughter Ann Pritchard a lot that included modern Gramercy Park—and the land on which Swann Galleries sits today.
Works on travel and exploration include Patrick Gass's A Journal of the Voyages and Travels of a Corps of Discovery, under the Command of Capt. Lewis and Capt. Clarke, a first edition of the earliest account of the expedition, Pittsburgh, 1807.
Other subject areas well represented in the auction include American Indians; the American Revolution; Arctic exploration; Canadian exploration and history; early American imprints, primers and children's books; archives of correspondence related to General George Armstrong Custer; documents relating to railroad baron Jay Gould; Texas and the Mexican War; and items pertaining to individual states.
The sale concludes with nearly 100 lots of Latin Americana, including rare books on Chile, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico; important letters from the Dominican Republic; and early examples of Mexican printing from 1590.
