NO VISA TO KOREA?! JEJU ISLAND TRAVEL GUIDE for First Timers! ❤️
Jeju Island in South Korea Travel Vlog
Jeju Island is an island in the Jeju Province of South Korea. The island lies in the Korea Strait, below the Korean Peninsula, south of the South Jeolla Province. The island contains the natural world heritage site, Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes.
I was invited to visit Jeju Island by the Jeju World Natural Heritage Center to experience the beauty of Jeju Island. I stayed on the island for 8 days and was mesmerized by it's beauty.
So, here I am am sharing my stories...
FAQ :
*Which airline to take from Manila to Jeju? - Oddly, it was difficult to find a direct flight from Manila going to Jeju Island. I took Cathay Pacific and had to transfer flight at HongKong airport. The fare was around Php 25,000.
*Do you need visa to go to Jeju Island? - If you will take a plane that will land at Incheon Airport, you will need to acquire a visa. But if you can find a way to land directly on Jeju Island, visa is not needed.
*You mentioned you were questioned at the Jeju Immigration, what happened? - I will share MORE about this on the next vlogs!
*How much money do you need to go to Jeju Island? -If you are wise enough and don't need luxurious stuff, around Php 40,000 would be enough.

Jeju (Jeju-si; Korean pronunciation: [tɕe̞.dʑu]) is the capital of Jeju Province in South Korea and the largest city on Jeju Island. The city is served by Jeju International Airport (IATA code CJU).
Located on an island off the Korean Peninsula, Jeju has mild, warm weather during much of the year. The city is a well-known resort, with prestigious hotels and public casino facilities. In 2011, 9.9 million passengers flew between the two cities of Seoul and Jeju, making the Gimpo–Jeju route the world's busiest passenger air route.[1] Jeju welcomes over ten million visitors from mainland Korea, Japan, and China every year.[2][3]travel,

Top 7 Best K Drama Filming Locations in Jeju
Top 7 Best K Drama Filming Locations in Jeju
HALLASAN PARK
The volcanic peak of Hallasan Mountain is one of Jeju’s most instantly recognisable geographic features. Trails around the park range in length from 1.5 kilometres to over nine kilometres long, and hiking to the top of the crater is a popular activity for visitors to the island. Hallasan is the tallest mountain in South Korea, and its peak can be seen in the background of many K-dramas set on Jeju. It also appears as a location, most notably in My Lovely Sam Soon, when Kim Sun Ah scales the path in the pouring rain to show that she doesn’t want anything to do with love any more.
SEOPJIKOJI LIGHTHOUSE
Seopjikoji Lighthouse is set at the top of a hill, and has sweeping views out over the ocean. It’s also known as the ‘Wishing Lighthouse’, as locals believe it has the power to grant wishes. The elegant white building has been featured in a number of dramas, including All In and Boys Over Flowers, and Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Seolhyun shared their first kiss here in romantic drama Orange Marmalade.
SEOPJIKOJI HILL
When you visit Seopjikoji Lighthouse, don’t forget to take a photo or two on the hill. It’s a beautiful location in its own right, with rocky cliffs jutting out sharply into the blue sea, gently rising green fields, and rustic stone walls.
Come summertime, the hill is covered in golden rape flowers. Jung Joo and Gun Woo had a romantic moment here at sunrise in the second episode of Warm and Cosy.
JEJU FOLK VILLAGE
Go back in time to the 1890s at Jeju Folk Village. Over 40 acres of land contain carefully researched reconstructions of various types of buildings, including fishing huts, shaman’s houses, agricultural buildings, and family homes.
There are 117 buildings and facilities in the village, and a range of artefacts on display. Visitors can dress up in traditional hanboks, take part in workshops, and see events such as cultural performances. The village was used as a key location in the hit historical drama Dae Jang Geum (‘Jewel in the Palace’), as the place where Jang Geum learns medicine as a maid.
TEDDY BEAR MUSEUM
Jeju’s Teddy Bear Museum features historical moments, famous people and art masterpieces all represented in teddy-bear form. Teddies range from over six foot tall (you can cuddle some in the museum’s outdoor garden) to just 4.55 millimetres high. It’s an entertaining way to spend an afternoon, and gives an insight into the toy’s history and Korean culture; look out for the hanbok-clad animatronic bears. Alfred, the teddy bear from Goong(‘Princess Hours’), is displayed here; the museum was used as a filming location for episode 12 of the drama.
THE ALL IN HOUSE
Located just a few minutes’ walk from Seopjikoji Lighthouse is the All In House, built specially as a location for the drama mini-series All In.It’s waned in popularity as a tourist attraction (the drama aired in 2003), but you can still visit the interesting church building, recreate your own scenes from the drama, and take lots of photos along the dramatic coastline.
BOMNAL CAFE
Bomnal Cafe has breathtaking views out over Jeju’s ocean and a bright, welcoming atmosphere. It was a key filming location in the 2015 drama Warm and Cosy, as the cafe where Lee Jung Joo and Baek Gun Woo worked and (spoiler alert!) fell in love.
It’s popular in its own right, however the café is beautifully decorated, making every corner a perfect photo-op, drinks are good, and there are two café corgis who make sure all the visitors are happy.

VLOG #13 | ĐẢO JEJU - JEJU ISLAND IN SOUTH KOREA
Jeju Island is Korea’s largest island to be located in the Jeju Province. People love this island called it is Hawaii of Korea. Old Downtown Jeju (Jungangno), South Korea | 구제주 둘러보기
Welcome to Korea Road Tour channel on YouTube!
???? Starting Point -
???? About old Downtown Jeju City (구제주)
Jeju city is divided into old Jeju area (Ildo, Ido, Samdo, Yongdam) and Shinjeju (Nohyeong and Yeongdong) areas that have been built since the 1970s. Satellite images show Jeju city clearly distinguished between Shinjeju in the west and old Jeju in the east.
The city consists of the the old downtown (Jungangno) to the east and the surrounding areas of Tapdong (a port district north of Jungangno) and Yongdam. The inter city bus terminal lies just south of Jungangno. Nothing in downtown Jeju is more than approximately 2 km from anywhere else so whilst not convenient, walking is quite feasible, and sometimes even faster. This includes the areas of Yongdam, Tapdong, Jungangno and the inter-city bus terminal.

╰ Yongduam Rock (Korean pronunciation: Yongdam)
Yongduam Rock, like its name, is in the shape of a roaring dragon that looks like it is springing out from the ocean. When the wind and the waves are strong, it looks as if it might fly away to the sky. If you gaze into Yongduam Rock during sunset, you’ll fall under the illusion that the dragon is actually writhing. In order to catch a good view of the rock, watching it from 100m west from the rock is most advisable. It looks even better when the waves are strong, as it looks as if the Creation is taking place or if the dragon is roaring as it suffers from the wrath fo the heavens. It is one of the most famous spots that represent Jejudo Island with countless numbers of tourists visiting it every day.

After 10 years of excavation work, the first restoration project was finished in December 2002. They are the only restored government buildings from the Joseon Dynasty in Korea.

╰ Cheonjeyeon Falls (천제연폭포)
Cheonjaeyeon Waterfall has three sections. The first runs from the floor of the mountain on the upper part of Jungmun-dong, which falls 22 meters. The water there falls again two more times to form the second and third sections, which then tributes to the sea. The first segment is usually a pond, but falls when it rains. The forest in which the fall is located is in a warm temperature zone so you can feel rejuvenated while watching the fall and feel refreshed while breathing in the cool air.

The stadium is a small soccer field only because it is unexpectedly small. It is characterized by being able to enjoy the players' game more realistically because the ground and the stands are close.
It harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment and offers a full view of the ocean, island, and Hallasan Mountain. It was chosen by Guinness Book of World Records as the most beautiful stadium in the world.

Hamdeok Beach JEJU, SOUTH KOREA + Geomonoreum Trail (WeWillNomad)
The thing with Hamdeok Beach is that if you arrive during high tide, you’re likely to think that there isn’t much of a beach.. but when the tide goes out you’re left with an amazingly huge sand bar with plenty of space for people to spread out, tide pools for kids to play in and rocks to hunt around for crabs and shellfish.
Driving around the island is by far the easiest way to get around as getting around isn’t so easy via public transport. However, if you have time and patience the public bus system can be perfectly adequate and cheap. Especially reaching the main centres around the island is fast and efficient with regular buses connecting them. The challenge is to reach inland or more remote spots. If you're located in Jeju City rather rent a car or scooter if you plan on inland excursions - to maximise your time.
In this video, we visit the Jeju World Natural Heritage Centre to hike the Geomunoreum trail. You can find more information here:
There are so many oreum (parasitic cones) on Jeju Island that, climbing one a day, you couldn't see all of them in one year. Geomunoreum is considered to be the foremost among them. Its name means black oreum and it was derived from the dense forest in its crater that has a unique black tint. Its summit is 456 m above sea level and has a circumference of 4.5km. At the summit lies a deep, horseshoe-shaped crater with a large opening in the northeastern rim. To see Geomunoreum, all visitors must sign up for a guided tour at the Visitor Center.

Over 1,000 foreign visitors a month denied no-visa entry to Jeju island
Nearly 8-thousand-600 foreign visitors were denied no-visa entry to Korea's southern Jeju island between January and the end of August.
Data from the Ministry of Justice shows one-point-three percent of all applicants have been refused entry this year.
The same ratio was a third of one percent in 2014.
The Korean Immigration Service says most of those refused entry had not properly clarified the purpose of their visit,... while some were found to be traveling on fake passports.
Authorities believe some of these applicants try and enter Jeju illegally and then attempt to secure a job on the island or in other parts of Korea.
Since the Jeju provincial government enacted its no-visa entry policy in 2002, nearly three million foreigners have traveled there under the program, with 99 percent being Chinese nationals.

Jeju Living Costs
[Anchor Lead]
The resort island of Jejudo, with its pristine natural environment, draws not only tourists but also Koreans who seek to relocate for a rural farming life. But these days due to soaring land prices and rental costs, some residents are forced to leave the island. We have their stories.
[Pkg]
Woljeongni Beach on Jejudo Island is visited by several thousand vacationers per day during the peak summer season. The officially assessed land price per square meter stood at 80-thousand won in 2014, which jumped 11 fold in just 3 years to 920-thousand won this year.
[Soundbite] Kim Woo-il(Former Woljeongni Town Chief) : We wake up and the numbers rise every day from 300 to 500 to 800 to 1,200 and 2,000.
[Soundbite] Eom Seong-wun(Commercial District Developer, Woljeongni) : I was so surprised. I was worried if I would be able to secure land but as I expected, there are no plots.
As news spread of booming business near beaches due to the large number of tourists, rental fees for commercial buildings have also soared more than ten times in just a year or two. Some Jejudo residents who had relocated to the island can no longer afford the skyrocketing prices and are forced to close businesses or leave the island altogether.
[Soundbite] Song Yeong-pil(Closed Restaurant Business) : The building owner sold it to someone else and to put it simply, I was kicked out.
Over 15 million tourists visited Jejudo last year. However the resort island is facing a crisis in recent times as its population dwindles due to a combination of reasons including development projects causing environmental degradation, the rising cost of living and the saturation of the service sector.
[Soundbite] Gang Seong-il(PhD in Tourism) : Jejudo is a big island but it's ultimately an island. Matters of quality of life, the living environment and natural environment are all interconnected on an island and sufficient talks are necessary but there are none at the moment.
