The pictures were taken in Santa Fe, Tent Rocks, Albuquerque, Acoma Pueblo, Laguna Pueblo, Bandelier national monument and Jemez mountains. New Mexico is indeed the land of enchantment as you can see in these pictures. See Coronado State Monument as we learn about the conquistador and explorer Francisco Vásquez de Coronado—who with 300 soldiers and 800 Indian allies from New Spain—entered the valley in 1540 while looking for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold. Instead he found villages inhabited by prosperous native people from the area. The is New Mexico's first state park and although named after Coronado, is also an archaelogical site featuring a pueblo settlement dating back to 1300.

Just minutes north of Albuquerque (off of I-25, exit 242) in Bernalillo, is Coronado State Monument where Francisco Vásquez de Coronado—with 300 soldiers and 800 Indian allies from New Spain—entered the valley while looking for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold. Instead he found villages inhabited by prosperous native people. Coronado's party camped near the Tiwa pueblo of Kuaua, one of the many villages encountered by the explorers.

New Mexico is a constituent state of the United States of America. It became the 47th state of the union in 1912. New Mexico ranks fifth among the 50 United State states in terms of total area and is bounded by Colorado to the north, Oklahoma and Texas to the east.
New Mexico has some of the flattest land as well as some of the most rugged mountains in the country and it was described as The Land of Enchantment. The highest mountain peaks, Wheeler Peak and Truchas Peak are in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the north-central part of the state. The Rocky Mountains extend into the north-central part of the state.

Exotic cone-shaped formations in a National Monument. The cone-shaped tent rock formations are the products of volcanic eruptions that occurred 6 to 7 million years ago and left pumice, ash and tuff deposits over 1,000 feet thick. Tremendous explosions from the Jemez volcanic field spewed pyroclasts (rock fragments), while searing hot gases blasted down slopes in an incandescent avalanche called a pyroclastic flow. In close inspections of the arroyos, visitors will discover small, rounded, translucent obsidian (volcanic glass) fragments created by rapid cooling

I finally made out to the far side of Albuquerque to where the volcanoes were. For some reason while strolling around various Cat Steven's songs were playing in my head so it seemed appropriate to use them in the film clip.
While hiking several storms passed to the north and south of where I was. I was enamored by the cloud formations and the vastness of the open space that surrounded me. To the east of me are the Sandia Mountains. To the west was desert, yet in the far distance was another mountain range I still haven't explored.

Our state 46 in our 50 states series is New Mexico! We've now adventured this state twice and we loved our time here just as much if not more than the first time. We posted on our Instagram asking if anyone wanted to meet up and we made some new lifelong friends from it! Tina and Janessa thank you again for making the trip. We had a blast at White Sands National Monument and sled down the white sandy hills. This place really feels like another planet and if you're within a 15-hour drive, we think honestly think it's worth it.
We also ran into our friends Evelyn Explores while adventuring Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are HUGE!
