China builds an 'underground Great Wall' to fend off foreign attacks - Daily News
China, building, indestructible, underground,Great,Wall, fend, foreign, attacks Chinese military experts have claimed to invent an 'indestructible' material to build an 'underground great wall of steel' to fend off even the most powerful weapons.
But unlike the Great Wall of China which ranges more than 13,000 miles, the mysterious underground defence system is understood to be formed of a series of subterranean constructions around the country's key military bases.
It is reported that the new material would allow the reinforced fortifications to withstand the strikes from some of the most deadly weapons on earth, such as the nuclear bombs.

The project is also developed to defend against the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, also known as the 'bunker buster', which is used by the U.S. armies and is the world's largest conventional bomb, according to China.com.
According to Qian Qihu, the 81-year-old military defence expert who has been leading the project, the project is expected to survive nuclear explosions.
'Our project needs to have the capability of defending against the attacks of cannons, dynamite and nuclear weapons,' Mr Qian was quoted saying by Jiangxi Satellite Television Station.
The new sub-surface military project had been kept as a top secret by China's military authorities until earlier this month.
It was revealed for the first time on January 7 at the Highest Science and Technology Award Ceremony, an annual event for Beijing to honour its top scientists. Mr Qian was awarded at the ceremony.
Quoting the Chinese military authorities, the report on China.com said the material was developed by a design institute affiliated to China's Air Force and was 10 times stronger than the conventional material used to build military tunnels.
Most underground military bases in China are built with concrete or reinforced concrete and are prone to advanced, specialised weapons.
Apparently, the Chinese government formed a team as early as 2002 in order to create a new type of building material that could bear the strikes of precision-guided munitions which are designed to hit specific targets.
It is said that after nearly 15 years, scientists finally came across a perfect formula for the material by adjusting the proportion of steel fibre and reactive power, marking a breakthrough for the project.
An experiment was reportedly carried out in the spring of 2017 to test the material.
A small piece of the new material, measuring 80 centimetres in length, width and height was hit by a 57mm cannonball at the speed of 450 to 480 fps (493 to 526 kilometres per hour).
The impact would have blown conventional material to smithereens, but the new material expanded only slightly and stayed intact in general, the reports said.
Mr Qian points out that while China strives to develop the most advance attacking weapons, a country's defence system is equally important.
Although China is already developing a strategic missile defence system and the air defence syste

A Relaxing and Joyful Seaside City · Tianjin
Tianjin is a pearl beside the Bohai sea. “The Tianjin Eye”, a giant Ferris wheel built above the Yongle Bridge, is the city landmark located on the bank of Hai River in Hongqiao District. When it is reaching the highest point, people can see everything in a glance. In addition, there is a beautiful legend about the wheel: every cabin is filled with happiness, and when people look up at the wheel, they are looking up at happiness.
Walking around the city, the former northern financial center keeps a lot of western and eastern architectures; the bank buildings of different countries are still standing tall and exquisite on Jiefang Road. Tianjin is an interesting city. People always describe Tianjin with northern feature words such as comic dialogue, Goubuli stuffed baozi, fried dough twist, Yangliuqing, clay figure Zhang, and so on.
In the eyes of many, humorous and friendly residents, various types of entertainment, and interesting Tianjin dialect are what make Tianjin a relaxing and joyful city.
